It’s actually because this was the pre-telecast ceremony (none of the major categories). “Mean” was on Speak Now, which came out after Fearless. Taylor won AOTY for Fearless, so she sat pretty close to the front for that lol.
It was because it was the pre show.
She won Album of the year for Fearless 2 years before that and then she was in the front row because of getting nominated in big 3 categories and pop categories. Mean was nominated for country categories so this is a pre telecast.
Now they beg Taylor to show up to their award shows

Like she was the one who wrote all the lyrics and the general outline of the melody/chorus/bridge and the other writers were mainly the technical people who made her vision and concept happen, just like a football team with their quarterback.
