I'm 70 years old. Musician and entertainer. I've only listened to one song by Taylor Swift..I do think she will go down in history as the most success and greatest entertainer, song writer, musician and singer of all time. Her charisma, character, humility and personality has a lot to do with it.

The freaky thing about Taylor, she's an even better human being than she is an artist... She visits kids with cancer in hospitals while touring, she stops in on fans at their homes, she's had groups of fans over to her house, buys Christmas gifts for fans... she deserves all the good that comes her way...

She was sick during this performance, but still went out and sang her heart out. As a die hard swiftie, I recognize this isn't her strongest vocal performance, but knowing that she should've been on vocal rest and still did it beautifully, I love her even more ❤❤
Plus the heartbreak was still very fresh during this performance and I love that you can hear the anger and sadness all mixed together

One thing to know about Taylor is that her voice has aged like fine wine. She was never going to have the vocal ability of Ariana or Adele, but her lyricism and storytelling is miles above the rest. I love all of her old stuff with my whole heart, but 10 years after this performance her vocal control and technicality is so much improved. It's been a joy hearing her voice change and get even stronger over the years. If you want a more recent live performance of this song, she performed the 10 Minute Version on SNL and it was fantastic.

@@michelle6337 Let's not forget, the American songwriter who got the Nobel Prize for literature was Bob Dylan.... not exactly a vocal virtuoso. Range and power are only two of a multitude of compelling vocal attributes. Taylor Swift has those to a lesser degree, but her lyrics, her expressive and stylistic skills and her innovative arrangements are truly second to none. She is an American treasure.

The 10 minute version brought the anger, which is a cool soundtrack to Taylor’s film, and perhaps a story she needed to tell. It’s an impressive feat. Taylor has never gotten enough credit - until now. She was a teen when she came out. Everything about her was still maturing - songwriting, vocals, performance, looks, love life - and she had to do that in front of the world! She has grown into such a beautiful human. I feel like a proud mama 😂. I wish one of my kids were Swifties or I had a group of girlfriends who were Swifties. I would have love to have seen the Eras Tour. I haven’t even seen the movie 😢. Good point. She is much more polished than when she first started. I can tell she worked HARD on her vocals, and her presence and presentation are outstanding. The vibrato on the end of her phrases is so warm, so honest. This is a great example of a singer half talking, half singing, which for Taylor is really effective at conveying the emotion. It isnt just about her vocal ability- its about what she is saying and HOW she emotes.

It went on for over ten minutes and the practice continued as planned. Her mom asked the sound guy if he had recorded it, he had and gave a copy to her mom. She work with LIz Rose (the co-writer) to edit it down to an album acceptable length. When she release her version or Red (The album it was on) she released the ten minute version. Her : "I gave so many signs"
He: "didn’t even give a sign”
It’s about how people can grow apart. A once loving and happy couple started to grow apart. The male part of the couple sings about how the female part didn’t even give a sign, while the female counterpart harmonizes about how she “Gave so many signs”. Its kinda heartbreaking but it harmonizes so much. Perfection harmonizes of growing apart. [Sorry for my english] I like your context👍

Taylor is so successful and very well deserved because not only is she a singer, great performer. She plays both guitar and the piano. Doesn’t lip Sync, but her writing is so exceptional like a master poet. And people say she writes about her exes, but she doesn’t. She writes about her experiences and her exes happens to be a part of her experiences. And it just shows that we all have similar experiences at some point in our lives which is why it doesn’t matter who you are or where you come from or how you look like. Taylor can make you a fan with her writing. We are more alike than we are different. And Taylor unintentionally proves that. I love her for who she represents. A lot of hard work and a lot of love.

I have not seen a bad live performance from Taylor to this day. And yeah... she gets emotional while performing but she really puts that emotion into her delivery. that's why I prefer watching her live performance videos over listening to studio recorded albums. she has a way of connecting with everyone watching on a level that says she feels what we do and that she appreciates her fans, no matter how famous she's gotten, just as much as she did when she played her first show

As a father of 2 daughters who are Swifties, one since diapers right up until high school (present day) I’d advise checking out the song sad beautiful tragic. She’s got so many good deep cuts off her older albums. Dad isn’t too fond of her new stuff, but her old stuff is fantastic

I am with you on Taylor. I have not paid any attention to her until a few months ago. My sister recommended a documentary that I watched and was very impressed by her personality and how she makes her songs. So I have checked out some lyrics and was impressed in a big way. She is a great writer. She writes about her life in short bursts called songs. Her work can be seen as an extended novel of delight, hope, heartbreak, and learning. She is brilliant. BTW, that hair tossing business as she was singing looks a lot like Rita Hayworth in her first scene in Gilda. Great reaction vid.

Taylor Swift does not have a huge powerful voice, but she is extremely talented. talents are not always measured in huge vocal abilities, but musical, songwriting, and actual performing ability. so many of the female and even male pop and r and b singers dont perform live very much. they cant. most of their performances are prerecorded and they lip synch. some of the country stars are doing it also. several years ago on a C M A awards show, Kieth Urban did a huge number but he was lip synching. he got so enthralled in his guitar playing he forgot to sing and you heard him singing when his mouth wasnt moving. just sad to me. he caught it pretty quick but still not acceptable when you are doing 1 song. also i have noticed a lot of performances Dolly has been doing lately are pre recorded. oh well.

“They say all's well that ends well, but I'm in a new hell every time you Double-Cross my mind”
“And did the twin flame bruise paint you blue?”
“The idea you had of me, who was she? A never-needy, ever-lovely jewel whose shine reflects on you”
And my favorite that gives me chills every single time…
“And you call me up again just to break me like a promise, so casually cruel in the name of bein' honest. I'm a crumpled-up piece of paper lyin' here
'Cause I remember it all, all, all”
