Big thanks to BRUNT for sending me the Ryng boots and supporting the channel! Here's the site if you want to check them out! www.bruntworkwear.com/ZK10
Wanted to say thank you for what you're doing for our industry. I am a New Holland field service tech and often put in late nights and long years. My wife puts your videos on for our 2 year old son to help explain what I do and now he's absolutely enthralled. He's always trying to fix his things because it's important to him. So thank you for making the often miserable job something my family has become more proud of in me.
I nearly lost my coffee all over the phone when you told that turkey yarn. I enjoy your video as I'm a equipment mechanic in New Zealand did a stint with the yellow dealer and do miss the dealer challenges that you get from time to time. Might cross the line and go green as our dealer here does ag ce and forestry Deere gear and also the wirtgen dealers. Keep up the videos man really enjoy them and the story telling too.
Fascinating as always, one of my very favorite channels. I actually laughed out loud at the turkey story. I had a neighbor years ago that had a big tom turkey, weighed over 50 pounds and could be aggressive.
That’s a awesome Turkey story! 😂😂 You Service Call Techs run into the strangest things! I know our Service Tech came back with some pretty funny stories as we! LOL 😂😂 Great video, thanks ZK!
Thanks for another great video ZK. It was interesting and enjoyable Once again learned a lot on those sensors under the front of the tractor. Never really knew what those were for. Excellent learning video. Not bad to fix once you understand what is what. Thanks for explaining the sensors to us. Fixed and back to working in the field. Thanks ZK. The Iowa Farm Boy.
My son is at wyotech right now doing amazing his name is nick he's in advanced diesel that's so cool u said that I think ur awesome. Hope he can be as successful as u
Ik that's why I think so cool he is straight a ik that doesn't mean u can fix anything. I told him as long as ur there do ur ase so outta the way while fresh. I used to hv advanced alignment on princeton il and do tractor trlr alignment. Told son fixing things has to be head and heart. Can't be half way or u might hate repair
Thanks for a great video Zeth. Loved your story about the turkey, but I am sure you know, there is only one place a turkey should be, and that's on a plate 🙂, think it needed to learn some manners! lol Yeah back in my day your only suspension worries was how much padding you had in your seat, and the re-gen came from how much gas you could pass after lunch!
Reminds me of the time I replacing a regulator on a propane tank woman had a dang Billy goat I was bent over replacing the regulator dam goat knocked me over the tank
The smaller o-ring appears to have taken a set (compression set). The Boss O-ring seems ok, but I’d definitely change every O-ring. The Backup Rings should be fine, as they merely prevent extrusion of the elastomeric seal into the e-gap.
Our 9460 had REgen faults galore. Tractor unusable. Tried everything and they replaced the computer mounted on the motor and been good for the entire past season
Missed you. Like watching your videos. I have a dream where I'm in a culvert confined space that generally makes me wake up in a sweat. Don't think this turkey story is going to help much !! 🤨😂😂
I find it very interesting that what you were looking for and seeing on the emissions side of that tractor is exactly what the parameters are for the school buses I work on here in Florida. Curious if John Deere uses Cummins engines? The school buses I work on have the Medium duty 6.7L Cummins in them.
The tractor he was working on uses the 9.0 liter JD engine. They only used cummins on the biggest 4wd tractors and choppers. The 7980 chopper runs an 18 liter cummins.
I am an older, retired you tuber, I happened on your channel maybe a year or so ago. Before my little mild venting, I would like to say, I think you do a good job. I am not a farmer, my generations before me were kind of, maybe subsistence farming in the Southern Appalachian area. I mention my background so as to put my comments in perspective. As you mentioned at the end, the tractor owner needed to put it to work to accomplish some work. The Federal government has went totally crazy on all their pollution requirements for outdoor farming equipment, because the government can not or refuses to think. Manhattan, and LA need pollution control, probably? Do farmers in Illinois, growing food, etc. for thousands of non farmers need pollution control on their expensive equipment, I think not.
I guess the engineer that decided to put that valve block right there hasn't ever been in a field before. I would think corn stalks or sorghum stalks would be extremely hard on the wiring and solenoids. They could have at least designed a shield to cover it. I guess most everyone runs stalk cutters on their corn heads now, but they should have made a shield for it.
Does JD have a torque spec for the solenoid coil nuts? On some solenoid cartridges, you can literally pull the body apart if you over tighten the nut. These ILS cartridges must be pretty stout based on how much you appeared to tighten them. As always, great video.
How bout the 7R 270 with the floating front axle? That's what I call it. I work for a Deere dealer in SC. If you can think of it, it's already been built and on a tractor 😂
On those ils valve blocks there’s little dime valves under those solenoids you changed, you have to watch and make sure they don’t fall out when you remove the valve, had that happen to me.
I had a leak on my bosses tractor and it settles after replacing all the o rings. Could it be I didn’t bleed the system and that’s why it still settles?
Viewed 12-8-22 from Fairview Hts, Il. One question.............is there a shield to cover the front suspension valve block?? Seems to me it would get covered with dirt, dust, corn stalks and anything else the tractor might be driving thru.
Could be... unless what ZK said about soemthing funny with the filter itself going on. You'd think with 3400 hours on that machine and looks like in decent shape the owner must have some know-how.
fuuny turkey ... now try a 5+ft "domestic" goose ..... had to PUNT the bird to even get back to truck . and later grabbed it by neck and flung it as farmer laffed . ... fun memory of a bad day like your

Just ordered a set for Australia. I'll let you know how they go

That turkey story killed me 😂😂 just the picture of you come flying out from underneath a combine with the stick sparking everywhere 😅

Had the exact same ILS leak on our 310 this fall on that bottom valve. Tightened it up and it’s been dry ever since.
Much respect for your level of knowledge. Can definitely tell you are passionate about your work.
“Hand-to-hand combat with a turkey”..damn Zeth, had me rollin!!
I'm glad to see you post a video, I was missing your content.

Good video for Techs and service people who want to learn. I bet you had a grin this past Thanksgiving. Thanx for sharing. 😃
Here turkey here turkey. BOOM
Great story. Always enjoy your videos. Thanks for sharing

Those weren’t sensors
Solenoids
Been missing your videos.
Turkeys are only good for dinner!
Learned a lot on this one...thank you!
Fuuunny Turkey encounter! Going to check those boots out. Thanks!
Great content. Thanks for a very educational video.

Thanks for sharing Zeth always very interesting
Another great vid! Very interesting and informative vid!

I’m with you on turkeys man, little creepers

Is there a way to access "tech mode" on the 8020 and 8030 series? I can see that being useful when diagnosing problems

Pollution is a global problem; not just a city thing.

There is a shield. He already had it removed.
@@dustinb9105 I must retract my uninformed statements.
Thank you for another great video I’ve been gone from your channel so happy to watch your videos again thank you for alsum content
They got the same kind of valves on the hydroblock on combines. Those things are EXPENSIVE!!!
Did you ever have more issues with the regen? My guess is possibly EGR issue?
Hope you didn’t loose the orifices behind those raise lower valves. I know I have before lol
I just laughed for like 15 straight minutes at your turkey story😂
Does JD have a torque spec for the solenoid coil nuts? On some solenoid cartridges, you can literally pull the body apart if you over tighten the nut. These ILS cartridges must be pretty stout based on how much you appeared to tighten them. As always, great video.
I go until my calibrated elbow clicks
I hear that. An experienced tech knows when to “go by the book” and when to rely on skill and experience.

Is there away o disable the seat sensor throw that screen
Hand to hand combat That’s funny
is the nut missing on lower A arm? right next to the ILS valve body.
That’s just where the shield mounts.
That's pretty cool. I would like to work with you...
😀
Viewed 12-8-22 from Fairview Hts, Il. One question.............is there a shield to cover the front suspension valve block?? Seems to me it would get covered with dirt, dust, corn stalks and anything else the tractor might be driving thru.
Yes the shield was already off because the customer was sending me pictures of the leak
@@ZKMasterTech Thanks for your reply......,I suspected there had to be a shield ,otherwise the wire looms etc. would get torn off over time.
You graduated in 2007 I finished in 2004
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
You made a major mistake with the turkey, you should have clamped the earth lead to one leg and welded his beak shut 🤣
🤪🤣
Ben Franklin thought that the Turkey should have been the representative bird of the U.S.A. not the Eagle.
No Turkey in the cab? 😂
You think the customer just inhibits the regenerations?
Good thought. Might be the root cause.

Working on a unsupported chassis not good
The cylinders would be supporting the chassis. Zeth was careful to be out from under when lowering.
