      Western World has only one brand of EV car, the Tesla.

      Huge tariffs. Before the new 100% tariff, it was already at 27.5% for all Chinese cars, making it very pricy to sell Chinese cars in the US.

      Even though there will probably be more pain in the future, investors should look for stocks like Royal Philips NV and Alstom SA that have been sufficiently battered down to be a bargain or get a great portfolio manager.

      How are we going to achieve all that given that the market has being a mess most of the year seems farfetched. I keep hearing that the market is pricing in a 60% probability of a 75 hike. But isn’t it also pricing in a dovish fed that’s going to pívot relatively quickly?

      Chinese export to ASEAN countries has surpass export to US.
      China is expanding into Global Majority (South), but US only focus on China.
      If American manufacturing is so efficient and add-value, why not enter Africa, South Asia, Asean, South America?
      Western World only consist 12~15% population, 85% of global majority is there for US to explore.
      But we all know the reason why.
      US industry is too slow, lazy and expensive.

      China will never collapse.
      Chinese Central Government owns every inch of the land legally and physically, their citizens can only lease proerty from state for a period of 70 years.
      Chinese Central Government is actually the biggest landlord in the world and in history.
      If China turn this into their Balance sheet, it woll be worth trillion x trillion x trillions of usd. And US fed is 35T in debts.
      How is China going to collapse if CPC is the biggest landlord?

    Well it's just a plain argument really the USA will do whatever it's people want and if Americans want protectionism then so be it, the world has no right answers only different ways of doing things. Chinese companies will instead export car parts, batteries, motors and all that good stuff which is just as good really. Exporting cars means you have to set up network of dealers, you need to comply with endless regulations and laws and deal with warranty and issues, it is much easier to just sell the parts instead.

    How did this guy get his PhD? Overcapacity simply means an industry cannot sell as much as it can produce. When supply outstrips demand, price goes down. This is the repeat of the real estate problem in poor China.

    Batteries in these cars come from the Xinjiang region, where they are produced by:
    - coal-fired plants and
    - Uyghur forced labor in their production.

    Chinese 🇨🇳 electric cars are *heavily subsidized* by many levels of Chinese government. Some people bought them, threw them away without driving, and still made profits.
    - That's why there are millions of new cars abandoned by owners across the country.
    And this is not an exaggeration.

      One question, what is the name of the money sent to semiconductor companies initiated by CHIPS and Science Act? US is profiting from semiconductor sector so much and still sending money to this industry to further deprive other countries by leveraging its semiconductor supremacy, btw, I try not to use the word "subsidy", but I don't know what word should I use for this case, let me know if you a better word for that..... and I don't see any difference.
