    It’s a shame someone reviewed an Arcimoto who’s not open minded to a new kind of transportation and not comfortable with driving one.
    Everyone else said it is a very stable vehicle and compared it with a motorcycle or a trike, not to an enclosed car. It’s open air, put a jacket on!!!
    Wish you knew a little about Arcimoto so you could have added that they are now building a plant to start mass production and a price drop will follow.
    Arcimoto is a fine little US company that is helping to change the big problem of a warming world. It’s great for running errands, short work commutes, golf cart communities, local business deliveries, or as rentals for cruising holiday resorts. Here’s to small carbon footprints!!!!

    There are some inconsistencies and incorrect statements. Although the version he drove was $25k, it starts at $17,900 without trunk or doors or highly specialized paint. The paint alone on that one is around $3000 alone. You can’t go fast off the throttle because idiots would go through tires (and likely gearbox) quickly, and that wouldn’t be environmentally friendly - which is why it exists. A 4 point harness would be terrible. All the ones I’ve seen have no “give” if you need to lean forward to enter in your pin on the dash or look behind you for certain turns. The regen is modulated. The harder you pull the trigger with your finger, the more retard on the motors. There are 5 buttons that will be utilized in the future but there are 7 that are in use (front seat heater, rear, handle bar grip heater, defrost, windshield wiper, parking brake, wiper fluid). The first few times you drive it you don’t want to go fast. But it doesn’t take long before you test out 80. The motor wine is audible because it isn’t really covered and near your feet. I could go on …

And for many people like myself who are empty nest or just no kids, taking a car isn’t always necessary. For most of my errands I am alone and I have my purse and maybe one or two other items. Three bags of groceries is a typical haul. The ONLY time this doesn’t work is cold weather. Not cool weather in fall and spring, but actual winter which I have in the Midwest. But for three seasons, this works fine for around town.
      Americans have been brainwashed to buy the biggest vehicle possible for that one weekend a year when you might need to haul the visiting family around or you need to tow that boat that hasn’t been purchased yet. We’ve been led to believe that we should buy for the “what if” rather than the “what is.”
      If you watch Arcimoto’s videos, you’ll see that their whole idea is to “right size” transportation. The point is to use the minimum necessary rather than the maximum possible because using the maximum when it isn’t needed is wasteful and not sustainable.

Their second generation and third generations are going to be so much better and it's going to be closer to I think 15-17K once they get production correct and everything else corrected. The $25K Signature series is over. They have been selling an $18K base price version which I bought and next year a simplified lighter better FUV platform will be cranked out by the thousands in their new factory. With inflation, a price that does not rise is actually a price drop but they can produce a cheaper model that may not hit the $12K price goal but come close.

    While driving 60 mph, Branden says "this thing feels like it could roll at any moment if I turn the bars too much. There's a reason three-wheelers essentially became outlawed in the ATV world." Weren't those ATV's with the single wheel in the front? The Arcimoto has the single wheel in the back. I wonder if there's any difference? Also, weren't the three-wheel ATV's used for off-roading? Arcimoto is not designed for off-roading so doesn't seem to be a good comparison. Also, and probably most importantly, wouldn't [edit: typo would > wouldn't] any vehicle whether three or four wheels flip over if you turned hard enough while going 60mph? I appreciate the review because I think it's good to get all opinions and critiques. However, I could not let this statement go unchecked because it is speaking to the safety of the FUV. Yes, you can have an opinion about your own sense of safety or comfortability while driving the FUV. Branden's own sense of safety (or lack of safety) is completely valid, but I hope people will not think the FUV will flip over while driving it simply because of Branden's feeling about it.

      No. We have heated seats and grips and protection from the full wind chill. In all cases and in 100% of all weather the FUV is more protective than any motorcycle ever made. Doors add no safety, they are just dead weight and a security blanket for car drivers who never owned a motorcycle.

      @popeyegordon 2 года назад +2

      Not clear what you are saying. Safety in the FUV is the same as in a small enclosed EV with air bags, but through different means. This is safer than any motorcycle in existence. Safety is actually a deal *maker* for this design. Lots of old seniors are buying it to get a little taste of the wild side without the high risk of a motorcycle. Harness and roll cage combine to offer great safety without doors. The door option for the FUV does not involve steel beams like you find in car doors.

    • @ferniegutierrez5605

      @@popeyegordon What I meant was, it can’t be as safe as a Tesla Model 3. Which is a compact car. The way drivers are today. It’s a deal breaker for me to have anything below that standard.

    • @popeyegordon
      @popeyegordon 2 года назад +2

      @@ferniegutierrez5605 With just 500 sold there is almost no crash data but this is tested and the roll cage is certified. No air bags needed and only a few states are temporarily requiring helmets which actually increase the risk of neck injury. The 6 point harness and cage work together in a different way from passenger cars, resulting in an equally safe vehicle that weighs jyst 1300 pounds. The 4,065 pound Teslas are an abomination - each one has the materials to make three FUVs and the 'full size' could make four. There is no shortage of battery materials if we dump the old ways that cater to car addicted consumers who are more interested in a status symbol. The new fashion status is embodied in the FUV. It's a rock star. I've had two neighbors call me that already.

    Lol so dramatic. These feel stable and strong over 70mph. I do regularly. Rain would be fine. Regen is easy to modulate unless you have zero motor control in your pointer finger 🤣 hope you guys had fun. The steering is definitely heavy and power reduced at low current to keep the wheels from spinning with dual motors. If you’re ever down in San Diego I’ll show ya how to really drive em 😜 some are getting to 20k miles.
    Point on motor noise. Guys….. c’mon they’re exposed motors. Of course you’ll hear them. Teslas and such have sound deadening materials to cancel it out hahahaha. Think about loud motorcycle versus a car.

    • @popeyegordon
      @popeyegordon 2 года назад

      Long range is wrong on many levels. We have to stop that abuse of personal vehicles. You'd need a 600 watt minimum system in ideal light to just get a third of a charge in one full day. My FUV's battery is too big. My average trip is 6 miles. I wish it had less power, a lower top speed and lighter battery but I bought one anyways. It blows away the e-bike I drove for the last 7 years. That one was solar powered.

      @@artboymoy Aptera is only taking orders. FUV is shipping in 5 states. Apteras don't collect many miles of range in a day with their panels. Under perfect conditions about 20 miles but they love to hype "1000 mile range and solar charging" in the same sentence in their video titles. Getting in and out will be tough and you don't get the ventilation. Only comfortable in northern climates, if they ever do finally ship. Check what service arrangement there is - for Arcimoto they have a mobile service team in place before they take orders to any state. The FUV offers much more utility and fun, hence Fun Utility Vehicle.

      And you will spend 5 times as much each year for insurance, take twice as long to charge a bigger battery you don't need unless you always drive with 3 passengers. You get what you pay for. The FUV has heated seats, hand grips and defroster. It cuts the wind chill. You are such a lazy person you couldn't be bothered to post the actual price of $17,900 with a dollar sign. The $17,900 price is in 2022 when the average cost of a new car is $46,000. And no cost for gas or oil changes. Insurance is at the very low motorcycle rate, that alone saves me $800/yr

    First of all the reason why ATVs were outlawed three wills is because the turning sucked with the two rear wheels in the rear the two front wheels makes it incredibly stable why else would they do that to the Polaris slingshot or the $85,000 T-Rex is amazingly agile it will turn corners Like its nobody’s business it Also helps to lean into the turns

    • @popeyegordon
      @popeyegordon 2 года назад

      None of that applies to the FUV. It is extremely stable due to its low COG - battery and motors are down at axle level. It does NOT help to lean into turns with wide wheel base trikes, it just feels that way. The FUV harness keeps us stationary and that's fine. The crash cage means it is the safest trike ever made.
