Finally got around to organizing my thoughts on why I legitimately believe vanilla BDSP is the worst mainline Pokemon game: ruclips.net/video/k-r3V0ISmug/видео.html
@@saricubra2867 at least it’s better than the newer games lack of story lack of Pokémon throwing old game mechanics for new ones 3 steps back 1 step forward
This game being made in Unity really is a blessing. Gotta love how some of the things here are just basic features other monster collectors like Yo-Kai Watch and Dragon Quest Monsters already had like canon sizes and faster pacing.
Tho main issue when it comes to be a Unity game is that it's not easy to implement custom models. Even the current process of model importing is still tedious and messy. Plus another issue of the game is gonna have updates time to time, causing some of the mods to not work on the latest.
@@xX_Pokeman_Xx that would make sense for omega ruby and alpha sapphire, but not really for brilliant diamond and shining pearl. Something light based would make more sense
@@vlc-cosplayer It's really stupid that they take it down and replace it with nothing. Since all these guys care about is money they would probably make so much more if the games were actually good. its sad to see that people still say platinum is the better version. You would think a remake of a game made fucking 15 years ago would at least improve upon it so you can confidently say "yeah this is better you should buy it" but no. HGSS got it right and improved upon GSC so much: Pokemon got better movesets physical special split making alot of pokemon actually useable. A way to get the kanto starters, legendary birds, and mewtwo which were not in originals as well as gen 3 legends implemented the suicune story from crystal pokemon followed you as the same pace as you walked BDSP Removed infinite use TM's, a staple since gen 5 removed a bunch moves which could be used by pokemon most gen 4 evos locked behind post game alot of pokemon were removed pokemon following is not as well done launched as a buggy mess with missing features like the opening and the credits didnt even have a gts at launch in the remake of the gen that introduced it tedious way to get only gen 1-4 legendaries that feels like it was added in last second They didnt even make the Tm's into TR's which would actually make sense since they can break while regular Tm's don't anymore. people bring up the argument that BDSP is not a platinum remake but HGSS is supposed to be a gold and silver remake and yet it has elements from crystal? Its almost as if the name of the game doesn't matter.
@@vlc-cosplayer obviously they did improve a bunch like removal of HM'S and exp share which is permanently on which kinda sucks if you were looking for the option but still ultimately removes tedious grinding however the level of improvement is not on the level as expected.
BDSP is NOT a reMAKE! It’s a reMASTER! Why else do you think they went back to chibis? The true Sinnoh Remake was Legends Arceus. Also the main company didn’t even make this. It was the company that made Home.
@@markkart *Fun fact:* because of the lack of any move tutors and the inability to transfer movesets from other games, several postgame NPCs technically have illegal movesets. Example: Morimoto's Flareon knows Superpower (Move Tutor in Platinum, TR in SwSh)
Here is some shock value. It took a small handful of developers to make this mod in less than a year. Makes you wonder what an extra 6 months of development would have done originally for the game.
Yep I dont understand why Nintendo fans still cant figure out why people pirate Switch games, yeah its because why would I pay $60 for a mediocre poorly done rushed Pokemon game that could be made way better with some simple changes modders were able to do that Nintendo/The Pokemon Company/GameFreak couldnt be bothered enough to care about fixing for paying customers, smh, oh well I'll just be happy some talented modders made this
The only person at GF who worked on BDSP was Masuda, who was overseeing the project. All the devs who actually care and try to make the games good, were busy with Legends Arceus and SV, and they had about a year to develop both. It's not that Game Freak doesn't work hard. They're literally not given the time to finish their games. You try being put on a yearly release schedule for fully 3D HD games and see what you can turn out in terms of quality. Compare the release schedule of the last 2 generations of pokemon to the development time of Tears of the Kingdom, which was already being built off of the same game engine and the entire BotW map, *and* had a dev team over 4 times the size of GF number of employees, and it STILL took about 5 years to come out.
It's amazing how many people can turn garbage into a masterpiece meanwhile a company that makes billions of dollars from this series can't implement simple mechanics or improve upon their original concept It's clear that not a lot of effort was put into this remake and they were probably more focused on Legends Arceus But even that's not true because Legends Arceus seems like a tech demo for the upcoming gen 9 game Which is a shame because it just goes to show you how greedy they can be when they focus more on literally anything else except on the quality or even the story building, I mean why is the story so complex now?
The level cap toggle in Luminescent really caught me off guard People have figured out how to implement Gym Leader-based level caps in the original games, right? this is just insane that this has happened so quickly
It honestly wouldn't surprise me if these games were a last second rush job to pretend to acknowledge the demand for Sinnoh Remakes, while Game Freak was busy with Legends Arceus and Scarlet & Violet. And the worst part is that people still fell for this scam just because these were advertised as Sinnoh "Remakes" when they were inferior to even the original Diamond and Pearl.
actually from what I remember, the gen 4 remakes were in development, but they had to move more people to PLA, and had to outsource the development to the pokemon home devs. thats why its so simple and a remaster instead of a remake.
Well, it was. ILCA had some amazing ideas, but GF tied their hands and forced them to rush BDSP while using those exact ideas for PLA and S/V. I mean, I still love BDSP, but it could have been so much more.
The size mod is actually really huge. I can't believe that we had this figured out in 2004 and they're still messing it up. It would be insanely tough to do as a modder, but they also had idling animations down in 2004 and we can't seem to do that nowadays.
I'm worried if Nintendo noticed this and tries to take this mod down. . . It's a shame that a multi billion company tries to take down the people who made the game better for people to enjoy yet they themselves can't even do it. Welp Japanese handle copyright very differently. Lets just hope that they won't do it and let us enjoy what these modders given to us.
1:50 love me some beta garchomp colors, the first time i discovered b-garchomp i was impresed and wondered why game freak didn't use those colors for the main garchomp (or at least use it for shiny garchomp)
To add to the list; they recently finally eliminated some of the forced Sky Battle leftover animations, and actually made Typhlosion's flame on at all times
Gamefreak might have lost it's passion to make the games ever since 2d days, but unlike gamefreak the modding community took advice from rick astley and never let us down. God bless the modding community.
Hot take: I don't actually think budew looks better at that height and that specific pokemon is better without the size mod. I totally agree with the groudon thing tho
I think pokemon with smaller size should be at least a little bit bigger. I mean imagine a flabbebay battling with a Wailord you can barely see the flabbebay because its 8inches if its gonna be really realistic.
@@Glimglum1 its like how they made olimar bigger in smash. Sure, it's not realistic but it works. Pokemon and smash are very different things tho it might not be a fair comparison
The one thing I wanted from BDSP was multi battles in the battle tower, including co-op. Without it, I feel I have no goal to work towards and no real purpose to continue playing.
How come a bunch of mod-hobbyists sitting at home can do like a couple months of work and churn out a better product than a gaming company that had YEARS, a budget, and a whole team with infinite resources?
The following mechanic is seriously such a let down in modern games! Like... U telling me Heartgold And soulsilver managed to make following pokemon a great feature, BUT MODERN GAMES CAN'T FIGURE IT OUT THAT MECHANIC FROM THE DS ERA!! Thank goodness we have mods, you all have seen following Pokemon in Swsh, THEY CANT KEEP UP WITH THE PLAYER! I really don't care it is accurate for snorlax to be slow! WE JUST DONT WANT HIM TO POP IN AND OUT OF THE POKEBALL IN THE OVERWORLD OR Worse can't even keep up the pace! Sorry for huge comment, it just these tiny things can be fixed So easily I really don't get why Gamefreak can't do it right in modern games? Is it laziness or pure Hatred at this point! 😔
@@MfwPrivate Well if the Sun and Moon anime is anything to go by, pretty goofy. There's an episode where they play pokemon baseball and Snorlax's trainer uses Snorlax's Z-move so it rushes all three bases for a run.
I do appreciate how sigma platinum acknowledges that bdsp are *diamond and pearl* remakes and they weren’t a platinum remake I’m fine with bdsp as it is rn since I just find the games fun as they are but I really hope sigma platinum is enjoyable for everyone who does play through it
I looked up what *sigma* means in mathematics and it apparently means a sum of parts. Pretty fitting, considering you've said that Sigma Platinum _combines_ all of the quality if life stuff from other mods.
I have no experience with mods and hacks, but love this anyways. So many small changes that should‘ve been there from the start. Frick forced affinity and EXP Share (even if it saved my butt one or two times)

I'm actually gonna object on the point about the Gameboy and following. Pokemon Yellow was scripted on a grid system, meaning it was most likely lots easier to do it then. In something like BDSP, it's on a 3D format, and yes, while I do see the lag behind, I still think it wouldn't be so easy to compare two different... I don't know how to say, but a 2d game to a 3d game... At least when it comes to this topic.
ya i feel that i mostly referenced it as a joke but i think theres truth to it because in vanilla bdsp most pokemon cant keep up with the player at all and just get caught on walls and terrain so you end up never seeing them really follow you, however NPCs like your rival and cheryl when they follow you stick directly behind you in a very similar way to HGSS and pokemon yellow following you, so i dont know why that same type of following wasnt used for pokemon in the game
@@gregorymirabella1423 Well if that's true, then I see where we're coming from, although I think in that regard it would be better to compare it to Let's Go.
@@mr.kittee9046 why not compare it to itself? The following trainers in the game work better than the following pokemon. even though its not perfect, the code is already in the game, why not copy and paste lol
that being said, there was clear lack of effort put on part by the development team to make this function appealing. In contrast to the originals where time was taken out to jam pack as many notable features onto cartridges and systems that were way weaker. It's the amount of effort relative to the generation and the system. It's not even close, they could have been miles better. In that regard, these games are awful and Yellow does indeed have superior function when it came to walking Pokemon.
1:40 ABSOLUTELY SICK, really makes me want to play the game now just to have awesome gigantic legendary Pokemon following behind me! Groudon just looks so cool when it's the size it should be
Yes, thank you! I have been wanting a real Platinum Remake for ages. Once they get the whole thing working I'm going to play that bar none. Platinum is in my top 3 Pokémon games (HG, Platinum, and White 1/2 in that order). of all time. I can't wait to play Sigma Platinum.
And also turn Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl into Pokémon Legends Arceus but with a twist, the twist being that you didn't got turned into into Pokémon and stayed a human, because in Pokémon Legends Arceus, you're a human turned Pokémon.

Better graphics is also such a meme. Just because something is 3D doesn't make it goodlooking. Gen 5 sprites are still the best that pokemon have looked and its purely because someone went all out with the tools they had.
Thank you for all of this info. I just happened to click on this video and glad I did because I bough the BD version since I never got a chance to play it back in the day (there's a time and place for everything and it's called college), but this gives me a new game to play after PLA. Thanks again!
I am someone that was not disapointed. Mainly because all I wanted was changes to the battles against bosses. We got that with held items, new movesets and adjusted abilities. No seriously this was all I wanted. Still getting mods is neat. While I feel no need for them it can make it interesting for people that wanted more than me. Not hard tbh, but I still like og D/P so I just didn't feel like I needed a lot. Was worth it for me to just get 3 Cynthia battles that were all fun.
BDSP is by far not the worst game, however it really does need some improvement. I would really like to try the game with those mods, it looks pretty sick to me. Also, I love mods.
In my opinion BDSP are the worst remakes of all time. Here are some reasons why: 1. Faithfulness: Unlike other remakes, this game literally copy & pastes 90% of the game from diamond/pearl. Diamond/Pearl are games from 2006. You cannot copy almost everything from a game that more than 10 years old. (Remember this is a remake not a remaster!). Almost everything: All dialogs, the storyline, the art style, the national dex, old pokemon encounters and even the Poketch were copy & pasted to this game. Pokemon games have been improved in the past years and had many quality of life changes like 3D art style, overworld Pokemon encounters and reusable TMs. None of these changes were adapted to the game which is just sad. This game is too faithful and faithful sounds more like a excuse for lazyness. 2. Not-Platinum-Based: So they copy & pasted 90% from the old Sinnoh game but not based on Platinum? Diamond & Pearl had several weaknesses and Platinum fixed many of them and included many Quality of Life changes. Here are some Platinum improvements over Diamond/Pearl: It extends the storyline with additional content, new dialogs, new characters like Charon and a new map Distortion world (loved it). The rival was a bit too weak in Diamond/Pearl which was fixed in Plat. The Poketch has 2 Buttons. It has the battle frontier. And finally: the Sinnoh dex which was baaad in Dia/Pearl was fixed (too less fire pokemon, many sinnoh mons were post-game restricted and gym leaders used off-Type pokemon). ALL of these great changes where NOT included in BDSP. That makes BDSP a worse Sinnoh remake than Platinum which was released in 2008. 3. EXP-Share & Friendship-System: One of the most hated features is the EXP-Share system which often leads to WAY more exp than in the past games. In my opinion, the EXP-Share is not too bad. BUT diamond/pearl were not designed to be played with the new EXP-Share system. So if you include an EXP-Share system, you have to increase all levels of the pokemon (from opponent). But they didnt which makes the difficulty of this game too easy.Basically, my whole team was too oveleveled. And the friendship-system is the worst luck-based system i ever saw. A feature that increases the Critical hit-chance,removes paralysis, lets me dodge 100% accurate moves and even lets me survive moves with 1HP. WTF did you smoke gamefreak? And the worst is that, you cannot make any of these optional. Because of that many players who love to do a nuzzlock in Sinnoh, prefer the old DS games. 3. No Innovation: This game not only copy & pastes the majority of its content, it adds nothing new to the game. Lets review some good remakes: HeartGold/SoulSilver (HG/SS) were Gen 2 remakes and included some storyline from Crystal and added many new stuff like the pokeathlon, battle frontier (from sinnoh), gen 1 map/storyline, a complete national dex and pokewalker. HG/SS were not copy & pasted, but actually remake the game and add good new stuff. Also Alpha ruby&omega saphire (ORAS) have new changes like new art-style , new designs for Team magma/aqua, new Mega-forms, new Primal forms, changes to dialogs and storyline and complete national dex. BDSP on the other hand does not provide any kind of major change in the game which makes this game really boring. It does have a new Underground which has overworld pokemon, but that is nothing special for 2022 and the ramanas park was neat but nothing too exciting. 4. Underground/Super-Contest: The old underground allowed to create your own living room with furnitures and set traps to troll friends online. Both were removed for a statue system which is really boring. Collecting statues and the effects of the statues are really disapointing. The Super-Contest used to be a fun-mode where you had many different options and varities and had to have good reflexes to do the correct moves at the correct time. Now all you have to do is Press A at the correct time and use 1 attack. That makes this mode so boring and disapointing. I mean, was it really that hard to let the player press like 4 different buttons instead of just A?? 5. Art-Style: Many of us expected a modern review of Sinnoh in a 3D human like Art-style. But they decided to go for the Chibi-Art-Style. Everyone has different tastes but in my opinion the Chibi-Art-Style ruins many serious moments of the story line of this game, especially vs team galactic. It feels like all the emotions of the characters were removed. The reason why it was used in Diamond/Pearl was because of the limited hardware. In my opinion the Chibi-Art-Style waas the wrong decision and does suit a switch game at all. 6. Only Gen 4: BDSP has a national dex which includes the pokemon from Gen 1-4 which is basically the same as Diamond/Pearl. As a player who would have loved to see at least some Pokemon from Gen 5-8 in Sinnoh, i am very disapointed. At least some Pokemon post Gen4, or some new forms or at least Sylveon. Not even mega-forms were included in this game. The fact that 95% of the megas are from Gen1-4 and the underground being the perfect place to grind the mega-stones, makes this decision even more disapointing. 7. PVP: On of the worst things in this game is everything arround PVP. The worst disrespect a main series pokemon game can get, is when GameFreak calls that all the competitive tournaments will not take place in BDSP. Unlike Sword/Shield, you have no option to search for PVP matches which makes it way harder to find battles. But the worst thing is the grind for a PvP team: TMs are not reusable (WHY?!). For some important TMs like Earthquake, you have to grind for 80BP (WTF). Also you cannot catch pokemon with hidden abilities except those from poke radar. To get the hidden ability you have to grind for the ability patch for 200BP (WTF). By putting important PVP items behind such ridiculously high grind walls, it makes creating a PVP team disgusting. 8. Events: The events were also copy & pasted from Diamond/Pearl. Same Shaymin event, same Darkrai event. And other events are only accesible if you bought other main series pokemon game. And finally some garbage "events" which include some useless statues. Meanwhile, the 3 year old SW/SH getting better and innovative events like new PVP cups/tournaments and some legendary shinies. In my opinion the events in BDSP are disapointing. 9. Bugs/Glitches: Holy Moly! This game had so many bugs and glitches! You dont even need hacks, when the game itself has to many glitches. Many of them where completely broken. Many Pokemon clone glitches and item dupe glitches ruined the game. You could even get infinity money, create your own shinies (WTF), make your pokemon 6IV and let any Pokemon learn any move. I used to be in a discord for trading in BDSP and because of the glitches, the trade market was only about getting shiny 6IVs etc. Not to forget to mention the soft locks which made you restart the whole game. Usually every games has a few bugs. But this had too many and too many game breaking glitches. 10. Controls: The controls of this game feel weird and uncomfortable. Characters move in a grid which looks so weird during the storyline. The pokemon who follow me often block me in a bad way. The underground has many inivisible walls which make moving in some rooms horrible. And finally the control with the cycle are horrible. It feels so uncomfortable moving with the cycle, i sometimes even prefer walking. 11. Price: The fact that this game costs 60$ at release which copy & pasted the majority of a 40$ DS game from 2006 is just a joke. No words. 12. Conclusion: It feels like GameFreak didnt want to do a Sinnoh remake but wanted to milk some money by releasing the highly demanded Sinnoh remake. The fact that, they hired a 3rd party company who never developed a major game, only supports this theory. Not forget to mention that, BDSP had a giant day one patch which was essential to enjoy the game. The fact that they released Legends Arceus also supports the theory, that they didnt care at all for this remake. The worst thing is that, it was soo easy to make them great games. All they had to do was like making a game based on-Platinum, include megas and increase the levels of all trainers or make EXP-share/friendship optional. Because of the release of Legends Arceus, the hiring of ILCA, the amount of glitches, the boring events, the exclusion of VGC, the 0 Innovation in this game and the fact that the majority of the game is copy & paste of a 2006 game (Dia/Pearl) which is worse than a 2008 Game (Platinum), makes this game the worst remake of all time in my opinion.
The smaller size was to go with the chibi art style because it makes so fucking sense if they Pokémon are full sized but the people aren’t, that really should be fixed next and they have to make sure size is accurate *everywhere* instead of bitching out which is why the devs didn’t do it, not to mention the sheer chaos Wailord brings to the table
1:21 - 1:24 Its because it would require more work for the devs and making the games 'acceptable' for most profit is the goal Why we need actual communities like this
I had to replay certain sections of this video several times because I was so distracted by the catchy-ass Sinnoh music I failed to pay attention to what you were saying
Check the description for all mod links! EDIT: Why do so many people wanna argue what the worst Pokemon game is that is not the point of the video 💀 BDSP is a rushed buggy pile of trash made by an outsourced company with no Pokemon dev experience that keeps so many of the worst parts of gen 4 and leaves out so much of the good stuff, worst Pokemon mainline game easily and is a slap in the face cash grab for anyone that's a fan of Sinnoh. Legends Arceus is a better gen 4 remake than BDSP
I agree that BDSP are the worst remakes compared to the others, and I'll defend your opinion if you hate them, but they are absolutely not *THE WORST.* They're still *absolutely superior* to SWSH and USUM. The creative growth stunting of the remakes are mainly the fault of Junichi Masuda. The main issues with the game is the lack of lore expansion, no new forms for the legends, the lack of difficulty, and the enforced exp share issue. The national dex issues still suck, but they're way better than those in SWSH. Besides those faults, I appreciate ILCA's work. Yes, they've worked on other games, but this is the first game they've ever actually made. And when your first game gets rushed, of course it's going to be shitty, to some extent. The artstyle could have been better, but it's polished, and the charm is growing on me. The remaking of the many Iconic gen 4 features did feel good. The OST is orchestrated wonderfully. (And my personal favorite feature is the return of following pokemon in the overworld, without having to pay for a pathetically mundane dlc pack.) Diamond and Pearl were big games, and it took a lot to remake them. Yes, the game is still shitty, and was released unfinished. But is it the worst? HELL NO
That's a fact, also why the heck did they go for chibi characters, I'm a sinnoh stan and this game deserves the gen 8 player model body, that looks so much better
@@brainsteroids8043 Dude how the hell is this game better than USUM and SWSH? USUM and SWSH are awesome games, I bet you just hate tree graphics. Now I'm a fan of modern pokemon games and prefer 3d models, but as a sinnoh stan, if you're going to play a sinnoh game play Platium, BDSP is just a sinnoh game but worse, the only good things about it is modern shiny odds, the flowers at Floraoma town, the modern exp share and the fact you can have multiple save files with switch accounts.
true size mod is dumb, it's cool if it just made them a little bigger but having the camera zoomed out so far that the smaller mons are specs is just not good.
i honestly think its a pick your poison situation between bdsp and the original diamond and pearl. BDSP is faster and modern but has forced affection/exp share, lots of bugs, and some how less functionality than the original ds games did as far as multiplayer features.
@@PurpleThunderNE And as for Pokémon Legends Arceus, it's not even a Pokémon mainline game anymore, it's rather a Pokémon Mystery Dungeon game, and just like in any other Pokémon Mystery Dungeon game, in Pokémon Legends Arceus, you're a human from the human world who got turned into a Pokémon and sent to the Pokémon world, a world only inhabited by Pokémon, and more specifically for Pokémon Legends Arceus, you're either Rowlet, Cyndaquil or Oshawott, and honestly, Pokémon Legends Arceus is even better than Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of sky, making Pokémon Legends Arceus the best Pokémon Mystery Dungeon game.
Honestly, BDSP would be the one occasion where I'd be ok playing the game modded before ever touching the original cause the original just seems like such a slap in the face. Lol. Honestly BDSP was very amazing. But I will agree that ILCA was forced to rush out an unfinished game by TPC/GF/Nintendo. However, as of 1.3.0 it is honestly really a good game finally (excluding them patching out all of the fun bugs now). Really the only thing that would make this set better would be sigma platinum with the actually platinum event stuff, removing true size, and allowing easy enable/disable of the exp share and affection features. Also, SwSh was 100% the absolute worst main series game. It was an unfinished and boring story barely long enough to be called main series. They then sold you the rest of the game for another $30 and honestly even then the game was very incomplete. It's clear that with Gen 8 they were just seeing how far they could push the limits of players by their greed to skim everything they could from people. BDSP at least gives you all the content upfront and does it decently well.

Dont think it bdsp is by far the worst game, and swsh is also a hard contender, i just bought the game because of the nostalgia but even then i feel betrayed and wish i didnt

HGSS got it right and improved upon GSC so much:
Pokemon got better movesets

pokemon followed you as the same pace as you walked

removed a bunch moves which could be used by pokemon

alot of pokemon were removed
pokemon following is not as well done
launched as a buggy mess with missing features like the opening and the credits
didnt even have a gts at launch in the remake of the gen that introduced it
tedious way to get only gen 1-4 legendaries that feels like it was added in last second
They didnt even make the Tm's into TR's which would actually make sense since they can break while regular Tm's don't anymore.
people bring up the argument that BDSP is not a platinum remake but HGSS is supposed to be a gold and silver remake and yet it has elements from crystal? Its almost as if the name of the game doesn't matter.

Here is some shock value. It took a small handful of developers to make this mod in less than a year. Makes you wonder what an extra 6 months of development would have done originally for the game.
Wow....its sad that modders are working harder on this than Game Freak smfh. Shoutout to modders for making the game worth playing
Its typically modders who have an actual love for the game.
It's amazing how many people can turn garbage into a masterpiece meanwhile a company that makes billions of dollars from this series can't implement simple mechanics or improve upon their original concept
It's clear that not a lot of effort was put into this remake and they were probably more focused on Legends Arceus
But even that's not true because Legends Arceus seems like a tech demo for the upcoming gen 9 game
Which is a shame because it just goes to show you how greedy they can be when they focus more on literally anything else except on the quality or even the story building, I mean why is the story so complex now?

And the worst part is that people still fell for this scam just because these were advertised as Sinnoh "Remakes" when they were inferior to even the original Diamond and Pearl.
Amazing. Every word of what you just said was wrong.
actually from what I remember, the gen 4 remakes were in development, but they had to move more people to PLA, and had to outsource the development to the pokemon home devs. thats why its so simple and a remaster instead of a remake.
@some random guy Well at least you gotta admit that last part is wrong
In terms of Sinnoh games, Platinum is obviously the best, followed by BDSP, then DP

ya i feel that i mostly referenced it as a joke but i think theres truth to it because in vanilla bdsp most pokemon cant keep up with the player at all and just get caught on walls and terrain so you end up never seeing them really follow you, however NPCs like your rival and cheryl when they follow you stick directly behind you in a very similar way to HGSS and pokemon yellow following you, so i dont know why that same type of following wasnt used for pokemon in the game
yeah, but let's go was 3d and did following just fine.

@@leahx4552 BDSP is literally just a coat of paint on a game they already made: that’s it.
In my opinion BDSP are the worst remakes of all time. Here are some reasons why:
1. None of these changes were
adapted to the game which is just sad.
The Super-Contest used to be a fun-mode where you had many different options and varities and had to have good reflexes to do
the correct moves at the correct time.
When they said that the pokemon fandom has the sonic fandom syndrome… they weren’t kidding, because goddamn BDSP reminds me of Sonic Colors Ultimate.
1:21 - 1:24
Its because it would require more work for the devs and making the games 'acceptable' for most profit is the goal
Why we need actual communities like this
I had to replay certain sections of this video several times because I was so distracted by the catchy-ass Sinnoh music I failed to pay attention to what you were saying
my master scheme worked
@@PurpleThunderNE Why does the PokeMart music have to make every video with it in the background about THEM???
HELL NO
I hard they just took the original games’ codes and used that.
@@brainsteroids8043 I saw absolutely superior to USUM and stopped reading, laughing
It's incredible how THE MODERS it's doing more for this dead half ass game then the actual company behind
I wouldn’t call them the worst Pokémon games ever just the laziest remakes.
i honestly think its a pick your poison situation between bdsp and the original diamond and pearl.
These mods actually make me wanna play BDSP
Thank god the Switch is where everybody got lazy so BDSP is built on Unity and is therefore easily modded.
Its so sad that the fans have to pick up what the devs didnt do
Damn this makes me wanna buy BDSP just so i can use these mods
Man, looking at all this just makes me think of three words:
Poor, poor, ILCA.
Honestly, BDSP would be the one occasion where I'd be ok playing the game modded before ever touching the original cause the original just seems like such a slap in the face. Lol.
I'm not big on Renegade Platinum/Luminescent's type changes, but everything else (Plus the idea of the Coronet Forms) is really cool to me. I'd play it with all of that without hesitation. :)
Not to mention not to mention the use of checkpoint This Essentially Allows you to have multiple safe files for these mods so you'll never lose your data
It was disappointing to see what they did to my favorite gen, with BDSP and a bit with Legends Arceus, but the second one is honestly just a few nitpicks.
GF: hey guys we're gonna do a super faithful remake of Diamond Pearl with links awakening graphics
Releases super faithful D/P remakes with chibi graphics
Fans: this game is such a disappointment I wanted more than a faithful remake.
Me: why the fuck did you buy it then?
They worded it that way to lure in new players and those who do not have a DS.
@@Enja_Near if for faithfull you mean keep al mechanics that make 4 gen boring and discard all what makes it good

Yeah because this isn't at all what most people wanted Sinnoh remakes to be like.
I love that there’s a mod to remove trade evolutions.I hate those so much
I wonder if they can save Scarlett and Violet 🤔
Game isn’t even out yet and we know almost nothing about it
Unpopular opinion: Luxray is fine without being Dark.
bdsp is pretty good if its your first pokemon game ever and i liked it, its not the worst tbh? its decent.
If its your first pokemon game then how do you know its better/worse than the others? For anyone that has played the OG platinum this version sucks
You know theres other pokemon games in the series and theres Plat. This game causes 60 dollars or you can Play plat in a emulator for free saving you money and saving you time.
_bdsp is pretty good_
O-Ok...
Thanks for making this! I've been waiting for this ever since the release of bdsp
I like how the pokémons lag behind you when you run, makes sense how a torterra can't keep up with you running at Sonic speed
Ill take pokemon actually keeping up with me so the feature is usable over every pokemon being miles behind me and getting stuck on walls so i never get to see them
the way i see it,in an ideal situation, is that most pokemon should be able to keep up with you, but some pokemon have unique quirks, like notoriously slow pokemon being slow or even having different following behaviors entirely (one idea i had was diglett/dugtrio tunneling under walls if they get stuck)
@@alolanfigment9822 like groundon riding a piece of rock to keep it up with you
@@PurpleThunderNE What a hypocrite right there lad, The modders fix to have accurate pokemon size in battle but don't want accurate walking animation, what a world lmao
Not gonna lie, I'm very much a person who enjoys the vanilla experience of every game. *But I NEED some of this shit right now.*
And it takes the takes the. Fans and it is sad that. Nintendo will literally never respect the fans. In fact demonize them
Pokémon modders 🤝 Sonic modders
I’m honestly tired of this happening to games. Companies need to hire REAL talent and spend their budget where it counts instead of abusing their “tries and true” name to get people to trust their product. Communities shouldn’t have to make a game playable. This happens so much it’s honestly sad (maybe they should also look into hiring some modders!)
NGL I screamed when I heard the mod for Platinum content had the "remake title" as *SIGMA*
honestly I don't think the chibis were a bad concept, just very poorly executed in BDSP imo.
i think they couldve looked a lot better for sure
@@PurpleThunderNE yea i agree. I'm glad people found joy in the game and the mods though
Sigma Platinum is pulled from Gamebanana, anywhere else to get it?
Am I doing the only one who thinks the game was great and looks cute as hell?
that is totally fine you can enjoy whatever you like. there are plenty of people like me though that dont feel that way about bdsp and would love to make some modifications to make it more fun
I didn’t think I’d was bad. Really wish Cynthia and the Elite 4 were a LITTLE BIT easier. How the fuck is a child supposed to beat them.
They can take our Pokemon, but what they can never take, is our mods!
At first i though you were talking about pla but then i remembered that bdsp was worst
LOLOLOL ya im a big fan of PLA, after 2 playthroughs of BDSP though those games made me so sad
@@PurpleThunderNE lol i loved too much pla and i was sad asf when in the pkm present they just relesed an update rather then a full on dlc, and i was kinda dissapointed that bdsp was made badly since it was my first pkm game I've played when i was little and i guess the game was done just for the money and to pull on nostalgia so no-one will complain about but i dont think it was a good move
@@peppe_5 I wish they'd given PLA the time it needed to really meet its potential. Scarlet and Violet are going to be hot trash just like BDSP.
@@draconicfeline6177 i kinda agree like the game would be rushed to be completed for the end of the year, while pla who got potencial got a month of life and just got put on the shelf
@@PurpleThunderNE And Pokémon Legends Arceus isn't even a Pokémon mainline game, it's a Pokémon Mystery Dungeon game, and just like in other Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games, in Pokémon Legends Arceus, you're a human from another world who got turned into a Pokémon and sent to Hisui, more specifically in Pokémon Legends Arceus, you're either Rowlet, Cyndaquil or Oshawott, and in all honesty, Pokémon Legends Arceus is the best Pokémon Mystery Dungeon game, even better than Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Sky, and Pokémon Legends Arceus is also arguably the best Pokémon game in general.
When the title said worst pokemon game.. brain instantly went to sword/shield lol
Hopefully gamefreak will take some of the QoL edits into effect in Violet and Scarlet
WARNING: Nintendo/Game Freak, this is all just photoshop and professional video editing skills, nothing you see here is real, no need to Copystrike here
The outro is me. It hits hard in the right places.
certified banger
do you think people will be able to make an actual post-game for x and y?
now thats something i dont know if modders can even fix 😔
Gamefreak really looked at Zygarde and went "Yeah, nah." I'll be forever salty they've given more love to Charizard (as much as I like him) and did nothing story-wise with Zygarde
@@Kitsune986 Gamefreak be like: Zygarde? More like Zygone
All this extra effort, yet I really just wanted Flint and Volkner to have their Platinum teams lol.
I actually like bdsp a lot, mainly the underground
Same here bud
You forgot to mention that Nature Mints, EV Vitamins, Bottle Caps, and Ability Capsules/Patches are much more cheaper and accessible then they actually are
EDIT: To add to the list; they recently finally eliminated some of the forced Sky Battle leftover animations, and actually made Typhlosion's flame on at all times. Also recent announcement that regional forms and Sylveon are confirmed on the way, sooner or later.

1:57 This really works!
While I greatly appreciate these things I'm glad mods are things this game has been blessed with... but in all honesty I like base BDSP vanilla instead of modding it, it just seems the best version
What really needs to happen is a mod where I can use gen 5 Pokemon in Sinnoh
Come on. BDSP is much better than Sword and Shield.
I also think the graphics make sense. They're not bad. It seems like a natural evolution of the ds art style.
that is NOT a high bar

I had much more fun in BDSP, but thats probably most because I have a lot of love for gen 4 since it's my first Pokemon game. Sword/Shield is one of the only pokemon games i played all the way through and just felt...meh the whole time
Dont think it bdsp is by far the worst game, and swsh is also a hard contender, i just bought the game because of the nostalgia but even then i feel betrayed and wish i didnt
A lot of us wanted to revisit these games, but it feeling like a bad port leaves a bad taste. At least the community is largely acknowledging this.
I mean I would use mods. But I love my switch and making it a cracjed switch is too risky for me. Luckily I enjoy the game anyway just the quality of life mods would have been quite nice.
Getting rid of trade evolution is quality of life changes. I think I have heard it all 😂
L video, it’s cool that people are coming up with mods and stuff, but these games are not nearly as bad as you say they are. And they are definitely Not worse than Sword and Shield
They litteraly are worse than swsh, bdsp had more glitches than all gen before, this game came out unfinished, got barely updates and such
