Submission was maybe my biggest flaw (sin). I struggled with it for years. I loved God but not enough to allow Him to be my true savior. Although I claimed it, I didn’t live it. It wasn’t until 2016 that I finally submitted to Him. My whole life changed. I thank God that He kept knocking on the door of my heart.

*This is the title and verse we chose for my husband’s business. Corner Stone Foundation. I love that on all business materials that is printed. We literally wrote Jesus on everything.*
"It's not like I'm going to get an automatic "well done." It's going to be examined." Even when what you're saying is so close to the chest, you speak from the heart. Your honesty and your moral compass are why I like listening to you so much.
Bro, I LOVE the depth to which you pursued this one. Not just some surface level interpretation of what a parable MIGHT mean but the biblical connections to the chosen passage and the implications of the general subject matter for our personal and daily lives. SO good. Gimme more of this, please!
I had control of my life for far too long, turns out I am my own worst enemy and I screwed up my life in more ways than I have space to say!!!!!! Putting that control back in His hands, he took at least 10 years of bad decisions and turned it all around in under 2 years!!!! Of course, I am still a work in progress, but if I stay out of my own way and let God work, everything is so much better!!!!
This one was a sombre study but all truth. Pastor Mike, you got me thinking about the past and my relationship to it in a different way. As humans we are capable of so much evil. Praise the Lord for his grace and forgiveness. This yet again a rich Bible study. Learning the NT connections in the OT is mind-blowing. Thank you!
Just over halfway through this Mark series. It has been wonderful for me to have such in-depth solid teaching. For all those who lack discipleship in person, Mike's teachings are a good substitute.
“And you start thinking that you’re the judge of the church instead of God being the judge of you.” 🔥🔥🔥 Thank you for this call to humility. Seeing my own sin something I’ve prayed about. I’m fantastic at spotting the sin of others. 🙄 I do try to pray for them, especially if I feel convicted of being too critical so I’m thankful for those opportunities. And I’m also a great critic of the past. *sigh* I pray His Word continues to be a mirror in my life while He sanctifies me.
Mike you are opening my eyes, the Holy Spirit through you, you are showing me, us what a real, humble man is and i thank you for that and so much more. You are a blessing.
34:20 The grace of Christ now, He gives freely. I hope everyone can see the beauty in life and how good God is and that God keeps us :) By His blood and His righteousness 🙏 38:37 Beloved
Love this Mark series! Don't know why I took so long to start from episode 1 and just go through. What you said at the end how everything awful as it is, is happening so 1 day every tongue will confess that JESUS IS LORD! Dead on Mike 👍.We live in interesting times.
Hey Mike, love your videos and really appreciate all the hours of careful study you have put in all of them. I would love to see a video on your study methods to prepare. Many blessings brother.
It's a parable and the slaves sent by the land owner do not necessarily represent specific prophets...the parable cuts directly into the hearts of the religious and political leaders if the time...thanks for the explanation. It helps me as I learn Biblical truths and prophecies.
It's specifically talking about all the prophets that Israel rejected in the old testament, and the reason why the gospel went to the nations/gentiles instead of only the jews, because at the end they also killed his only begotten Son.
Good lesson about prophecy, God's love and long-suffering, leadership, covetousness, pride, accountability, sober-mindedness and judgment to come! Also, a good reminder that the kingdom belongs to God; and that as the leaders are - so often so are the people - hence judgment came upon all! Therefore, we need to be careful that we don't make the same mistake of following men - rather than Christ (cf. Acts 17:11)! Those who chose to listen to Christ escaped the judgment - (cf. Matthew 24).
It's very well said Mike. It's really easy for us to say we would've done this and that if we lived in those times and that situation. We should focus and be critical to our lives and choices. I need to remind myself regularly to look at my own choices
As i listen to this, i can't help but think America has fully entered this stage. The governor of CA has enacted several edicts that it's a 'crime' if a parent doesn't approve and assist their own child's trans ideology. And other places are following. Anyone who stands against this abomination is being persecuted, in the courts for now. Everyone who can see and hear needs to get on their knees and beg for God's mercy and forgiveness. Thanks you so much for all the work you do to bring us this. May God continue to lead and protect you.
The wicked husbandmen did not know the father. If they had known him, they would have obeyed the son. The vineyard has been taken away from those wicked husbandmen, and given to others. Not to a new leader (only a Catholic could honestly believe so), but to a new church.
@Lon Spector You are thinking of a different parable. "What then will the owner of the vineyard do? He will come and kill those tenants and give the vineyard to others." (Mark 12:9) The wicked husbandmen crucified the King's son, and so they were repaid with righteous justice, not money.
Hey Mike, thank you for this study. Do you know what passage (verse to verse) you are doing each week? I think it would be helpful if you added this info at the end of your video for the next week. I would like to read ahead and do my own research too before Monday. Just an idea. God bless !
Strive to be better but understand thats why Jesus died for our sins so we will be covered. Not saying go out and sin the spirit will convict you but know you are covered and can always come back to his arms. Probably not the best answer but I feel what you are saying
great teaching! There is one more observation, which really troubles me: if we take serious, what Jesus says here that means, the Leaders knew exactly who he was and killed hin anyway! It means they were in conscious oposition to god and thougt they could win...
Does the Vineyard and the hedge refer to the fact that the Jews are God's chosen people and He has separated them from other nations under his protection? Or is it more a more general reference to creation and mankind? Edit: I went back again and 12:04 Mike points out it is referring to the walls of Jerusalem
It's talking about all the prophets in the old testament that Israel rejected and killed to continue in their idolatry. Remarkable at continuum perfectly of Jesus's parable unlike Favourites psalmist as prophet ahead in series awhile recalling Nazareth's as it's all coming real before their eyes why'd miracles performed elsewhere than hometown... Also God's own taking it forward shifting focus from tribes of Israel for their faults, likewise why undergone pogroms as vine pressed in foreign lands for milking honeying, towards the chief confabulators and Redeeming works of Messiah's even Herod or Pilate not unaware about?!
Red faced Nazarains had lots for learning from Jesus's parables as real life's prophecies if the Romans abandoned routes as treacherous trekking from Samaria to Jericho's then upto Jerusalem could've been avoidable being Goodly neighbours.
And the lord sayeth onto the people Get rekt scrub. GG no re. And the lord did hit the dab and nae nae. And rode off into the sunset while doing the stanky leg.
This is such a beautiful poem - ashirah na lididiy shirat dodiy lekharmo [אשירה נא לידידי שירת דודי לכרמו]. If God the Father and his Son Christ Jesus loved Israel so much, how could the promise made to Abraham be abolished, so that the Christian church should replace the Holy Nation? In Revelation, we see both names of the twelve apostles as well as Israel's twelve tribes at God's everlasting city. (Revelation 21:12, 14) I don't believe the replacement theology.
Peace & love to all. Hebrews ch 8 quotes Jeremiah 31:31 to let us know that the "new covenant" has come & it tells us who the covenant is with...Only House of Israel & House of Judah. Many of the teachers/leaders of the western christian church dont teach us this. There is only one bride/assembly/ecclesia/cahol. When we enter into the "kainos diatheke"(new covenant) we become part of the House of Israel or house of Judah, otherwise we are not in covenant with our Creator who inaugurated& ratified the covenant with His own perfect, sinless blood. Jews=Judah/Benjamin (some levites) was the Southern kingdom that went into Babylonian captivity for 70 years. Israel=The northern kingdom of 10 tribes of Jacob's (Israel's) sons. They were divorced & scattered "among the nations." We are either them or can be grafted into them through our belief. I have found no covenant with any of the nations(gentiles)...only those who are called out from "among the nations." Kind of like the mixed multitude that left Egypt, whether native born or a sojourner/ alien among them- they received the same instruction/Torah(1st 5 books of our bible). What is the time of Jacob's trouble for? How did they hear the same gospel at Mt. Sinai that we have?Hebrews4. Many of us dont even know what the gospel is. Many of us dont know why the Savior (who has no sin) was baptized by a man baptizing repentance for remission of sin. Many of us dont know His definition of sin. Many of us dont know all of the reasons why the Eternally Existent One veiled Himself in Humanity & died. Many of us dont truly know Him or follow Him. Alot have religion, though. Many are called, but few chosen. He tells people that worked lawlessness/ torahlessness/evil/iniquity to depart from Him in the Day of Judgement- & these are people that did many mighty works in Jesus' name. We can't point a finger @ teachers when He calls us to balance the accounts. May He grant us all the gift of repentance & forgiveness. Love to all the brothers & sisters & also to those that aren't, as well. I mean no disrespect to anyone here-so if any manner of my comment is offensive I apologize & hope I find your forgiveness. Shalom
Do you mean the pagan anti-Christ movement that wants to ban Biblical Christianity and put everyone into Marxist slavery? Or the hedonist church goers on the right who care about no one but themselves?
I know it best as "gamer slang" (video games in particular). I would argue that it originated with the video gaming community, but some of it may be older slang related to something else prior to video games and later adopted into slang common amongst the video gaming community. Pwned basically means domination in a fight or some other situation against another player with little ability to fight back on their end. (assuming you're the advantaged one) Noob is slang for a new or very inexperienced player, similar to calling someone a rookie. I haven't really seen pwned used in awhile. Noob definitely still gets used.
I just had a dream about this parable last night! I've always had a struggle with this parable. Sure it can be viewed as describing the prophets and the son but still it always seemed like something more was there. Last night, God showed me this story in light of socialists versus moral truths of a free people.
It wasn’t. The romain catholic church put it in there, but it was never part of what the jews considered scripture (inspired). The RCC added the maccabees as well as several other books that the jews considered important and historical, yes, but not the Word of God in themselves. Those books (the apocrypha) contain many historical as well as doctrinal inconsistencies.
Though I don't find this interpretation objectionable, the Talmud should not be used to reinforce or aid with Christian exegesis. It is full of unspeakable blasphemy against our Lord Jesus Christ. (See the trial of the Talmud or Martin Luther's comments).

great teaching!
Possibly both, in my opinion because with Israel, we see a sort of microcosm of mankind and the sin nature in general.
It's talking about all the prophets in the old testament that Israel rejected and killed to continue in their idolatry. And then, after Israel (most of it) rejected and killed Jesus, the land was taken from Israel and given to the nations/gentiles.
