    Guys, I honestly didn't feel good at all yesterday. For a while, I considered not going to Eurobike at all. In the end, I pushed myself, but at one point, I almost passed out. Unfortunately, you can see it in my presentation (I couldn't use about a quarter of the clips I filmed). :-( I hope I will feel better and be able to concentrate tomorrow. 🤞

    Univega is one of those really old bike brands, i didn't know they are still around until now. I used to own a Univega Superstrada,

      Univega is not "really old" compared to brands like Bianchi or Wilier, but they have been around quite a while, like 40 years or so. Their road bikes seem to come from the same factory as Bulls (also a Germany-based brand) because that kink in the chainstays has been a distinct feature of Bulls carbon road bikes in recent years.

      @@einundsiebenziger5488thanks, i guess you're right. I'm 5 months away from 40 and I wouldn't consider myself really old. Just old maybe.

    Love the look of the Seka Spear. With the seat stay design and the thin top tube it looks as good as anything in the peloton. IMO

    Univega was huge 50 years ago. Affordable high-quality Japanese bikes at one point. Who knows who owns the brand name today.
    In any case, the old logo still looks modern - much better than the logos of a lot of the new brands.

      Looks almost like the cartoon bike in the "casually explained - cyclists" video, also available on YT. Wonder Giant, the same company that does not use one-piece bar-stems for "practicality reasons" still builds integrated seatmasts 15 years after everybody else abandoned them, also for "practicality reasons".

  • @ericpmoss

    Based on those two "super aero" frames, is more tire clearance actually an aero win in general, or do the forks/stays have to be very far away from the tire and be aero foils? Or is it really just a fad?

    • @cyclistshub
      @cyclistshub  Месяц назад

      My understanding of aerodynamics is that the wide fork/seat stays are there to allow airflow to flow through them, not around them, thus reducing overall drag. Because of the chainstays, actual tire clearance on road and TT bikes is usually limited to 35mm.

    TIME pedals are a SRAM company. They are getting more aggressive about having SRAM teams/riders use TIME pedals instead of their direct competitors, like Shimano or LOOK. Less and less riders are using Speedplay. It's too soon to know what impact the PW8 pedals will have.

    • @cyclistshub
      @cyclistshub  2 месяца назад

      I know they are. But in local races/buch rides, I've never seen anybody using TIME pedals. 🤷‍♂️

      There are more than a few bike brands that are not manufacturers and have their bikes made in the same East-Asian factories, hence the similarities.

    Was the bike in the thumbnail and at the beginning of this video with its low-instep frame and swastika-shaped cranks (Sram Red) custom made for some WW2 war criminal who wants to beat the hour record in the +100 years-old category? Seriously, that thing is hideaous. And speaking of Sram: they own Time pedals, so a bike featuring their new groupset also needs to show off their new Time pedals. And at 4:01 - please, when you put a bike on display, shift its chain to the big ring!

    • @cyclistshub

      Thanks, I appreciate it. Honestly, I don't enjoy making them, but when I put so much time and energy into my videos, I want them to succeed and get the highest reach possible. And the numbers don't lie, thumbnails like this get more clicks. 🤷‍♂️ Anyway, the thumbnail for the last video will be without me. 😅

      @cyclistshub you are right.perhaps I'm speaking from a subscriber point of view...but some new person coming across you for the first maybe pulled by that. That was naive of me. I'd watch you regardless. But I understand your position. Do ur thing bro 👍

    • @cyclistshub
      @cyclistshub  2 месяца назад +1

      It's a constant battle between making sure the thumbnail and title aren't too "clickbaity" and not using a boring thumbnail that causes the algorithm to bury the video.
