There's a big difference between Rye and potato vodkas. Potato vodkas are more harsh in taste. Chopin was the only potato vodka in this comparison and you didn't like it :) You should try Chopin Rye version.
Well, I tried Chopin for the 1st time 2 weeks ago and it was the smoothest one I know! (And I tried around 50-60 brands so far...) Belvedere and Chase are close 2nds.
an individual's pallet changes roughly every 6 years anyway, so things you used to like may taste different or you may not even enjoy them anymore, after that amount of time. apparently.
You're quoting an old outdated definition of vodka. It was officially updated by the TTB to remove the "without taste" bit back in 2021. Now it's " “neutral spirits which may be treated with up to 2 grams per liter of sugar and up to 1 gram per liter of citric acid” Which exlains all the sour and fruity comments.
Belvedere is the one true vodka...

Chopin isn't harsh at all

Stoli Elit and Chopin Potato are the two smoothest I've had, with Nemiroff around the same level.
Chopin is my favorite too… the smoothest!
Chopin makes seasonal small batches.so it's possible that you could just get a bad year by accident.
Agree! St George is what you can describe as art of distillation!
Chopin is seasonal small batch. Must’ve been a bad year. I’m a ketel one guy but Chopin is my second.

The best "vodka" I ever had was Everclear and distilled water.
