Pvc pipe works well for this and makes adjusting and connections easy. If you don’t have power seats especially. Done this many times previously being water well driller pump installer in family business for 20 years..

I tightened the bolt on the throttle body that the throttle cable is hooked to and just turned until it was where I wanted rpm wise. Then if you want it to go back to normal just loosen it back down the the rpm it was at
The amazing thing about those trucks Tahoe's too is if u have the appropriate scan tool. The truck bleeds the brakes itself. Just gotta keep pressure on the brake pedal

well what you are doing is a fast idle - also called a PTO idle, that may interest you (use your transmission to turn a shaft "aka use it to run a 2ed alternate) generally its used on RWD big trucks to run equipment (I'm an insulation installer - I have/use a PTO ran hopper for blow-in insulation) , the idle switch is separate from the engine /driveshaft components --- as I see a google search its only 20$ to 50$ to add that feature to my (94 doge Dakota ) but I would go for the full PTO unit and alternator if your doing this for power-related issues --- I hope this helps ... i do see car mods for the PTO switch for other various issues .. Can you add a PTO to a truck? Used primarily to power an external powered attachment, a power take-off (PTO) is able to provide power anywhere under a truck and works through the driveline. Although most PTOs are installed during original assembly, a PTO added in the aftermarket can be installed in 30 minutes or less

I can't seem to find an aftermarket alternator that's more powerful than the stock one. What is a good place to look for an alternator for car audio?

You can get a high output alternator. I got mine 250 amps I mean it's almost the same price as the factory one.. let me know and I send you the link where you can get yours, I live in california, and the shop is in van nuys ca, or pacoima ,, somewhere in there.

I have a hybrid all lithium car, I have a generator with a 36v to 12v step down converter...I also added a 40ah yinlong bank so my car is at full tilt all the time even when the .engine is not running 😄😁😝
If you have a cable throttle you can just block the throttle from closing with a little tiny pice of wood/plastic same result. Man i miss my cable throttle

Got a question for you how can I tell if my aftermarket radio is capable for two amps? Went to audio installation shop to get a estimate on replacing all factory speakers and installing an amp. He said my radio wasn’t capable for two amps that I needed to get a newer model.

Rear stage won’t matter much at all unless unless you ride with passengers in the back all the time. Focus on your front stage and subs, you’ll be good to go
Hey I drive trucks for a living and when we’re parked for the night we have to keep our rpms up to keep the truck turned on for a/c or heat and one of the tricks we use is by turning the cruise control on and adjusting the idle with the set cruise speed button which gives us the ability to go to the back and sleep comfortably I wonder could you do the same also
🔴 I have two of these #OneWireAlternators. One is factory #acdelco 160amp the other is a identically made #powermaster 250amp. Both are grounded to the engine right now via a #dualmountingbracket but each one power wire goes to it's own battery. Basically two charging systems. My question is can I run both #OneWire alternators in parallel by just jumping the one wire over to the other alternator and then splice the factory sense wire and jump it over as well so that the Pcm only sees Basically one high powered alternator❓️Any info would be greatly appreciated. Btw, I left out that right now I'm controling the voltage output on the 250amp with a #PulseWaveModulator that operates at 128hz just like the factory one. I can turn it as low as 11.9 up to 15.4 amps output, but I don't have anything that let's me know that it's completely charged so I can turn it down. The factory alternator does this on it's on via the PCM and I'd like it all to work like that to relieve the guess work.

That’s definitely a way. But with gas prices I wanted something more temporary lol. as the increase in idle does burn more gas.

Some makes and models can have the computer programed to use the cruise control to perform high idle function.

Lol, that shop is crazy then. You can add as many as you want to any stereo. It’s a simple matter of a LOC (line output converter) and RCA splitters.

Just a steel pipe. That’s what we used on the farm for the water truck.

Can a H.O alternator damage the cars PCM due or damage the batteries by charging too fast?
Not if voltage is regulated correctly. Plus they only pump out the amperage when load is applied, so no load, they perform as normal
