    I really liked this explanation.
It’s probably the best I’ve ever seen.
    No useless info
    No stuttering
No second guessing the info you already gave
    No nerdy squeaky voice
    Good pace
    Good authenticity in your knowledge.
I think, if everybody made videos like this, instead of trying to appear smart and putting on a ridiculous “high energy” persona, the world would be a better educated place.
I’m going to sub and hopefully you will make some additional car stereo videos.

I set the highs and Mids with my ear and it’s perfect. Doesn’t matter what I do the sun is just low. I simply went back to the old school ear method and the sun came alive

Setting the gains like in this video is fine as long as you leave the eq flat and tone levels at minimum. If you set your gains with everything flat and as soon as you start making eq adjustments or bass adjustments now you'll be clipping. Ask me how I know.

One of the best step by step system tune videos on youtube thank you so much! I will subscribe. P.S. I'm 99% sure on RF amps the bass nob dose not control the gain maybe on the Prime but on the Punch and T. The bass nob it is a set 45hz DB volume adj. it IS the punch EQ! also on RF as soon as you plug in the remote bass nob it bypasses the punch EQ on the amp because you are now controlling it remotely. If it has changed that's news to me.. I have two T1500 and a bunch of punch amps new and old.

This video ABSOLUTELY answered my question to you on your other video where you apply the LC2i (i.e., asked about the sequence of setting Gains). Main takeaway for me was to assemble the proper equipment and information in order to follow the sequence and perform this procedure correctly. Know/have:
    1) a Multimeter
    2) Know both your Low Level (i.e., RCA) and High (i.e., speaker high-level) input ranges for your devices in play ... here the LC2i, Alpine amp and other Amp (don't recall the name) so you can apply the multimeter with the test tones
    3) Know the RMS for your amps and ohm load so you can apply Ohms Law to calculate Gains
    3) Speaker frequency ranges so you can set HPF (if relevant)
    Thanks and Great Channel

I totally agree! I don't understand why 99% of literature and videos tell a person to zero/flatten their treble and bass settings on their head-unit only to have their set target voltage on their amps go too high because they later turned their treble and bass settings back up on their head-unit afterward??? ...then a person has to go back and lower the gain/voltage on their amps because it went way too high at that same 3/4+ volume.

Quick side question - You mentioned in first calibration to put everything to flat .. if however one likes a bigger bass curve or brighter highs, shouldn’t we set the system “the way [we] like it” beforehand, so that if you DID boost frequencies, they wouldn’t overload or distort the LOC or other devices? Or is the 75 percent suggestion enough of a swing to compensate for any overdriving? Thank ya 🙏

Hope you respond! I need help.
    JD1000.1 pushing 15" Kicker CVX, with LC2i
    1000 x 2 = 2000.
    sqrt2000 = ~44.7 = target voltage
    So I:
    -75% volume 50hz test tone
-Set LC2i just a hair before 'maximized' light turns on.
-Amp gain all the way down still reads about 56, higher than voltage.
(ALSO - do I set inputs to low level when running from LC2i? - is this where my issue lies?)
BUT, if I set gain to hit the clipping indicator light on the amp itself, the voltage reaches like 75.
As of now, it sounds way underpowered. I had a 12" with 400 watts and that was louder. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong and what I'm missing.
A little confused why these two numbers would be vastly different - target voltage v. clipping light voltage.

So I have always had trouble setting gains as I just can't hear distortion and I tried to hook up my system using this method.
For whatever reason I got no sound from the speakers once I hooked everything up.
I ran 1 set of wires from the head unit for a FL/FR and then ran 2 sets of wires from the amp back to the wires going to the speakers.
Not sure if it is the harness (CRUX toyota harness) or what. I wound up having to switch back to using rcas and the sound worked.
Otherwise it was a great tutorial and if it would have worked it would be been great lol.

What If you have a subwoofer with built in amp and don't have access to the wire leads going from amp to subwoofer

Thank you so much man, I have the lci7 as well with a sub and speaker amp. I’m getting so much distortion so I’m going to try this myself because the shop I got it done at couldn’t figure it out. QUESTION: will having a stock stereo mean I may still have distortion? And what song should I play for the speakers? Does it matter as long as it’s high end quality. I have heavy hip hop songs then some Weeknd songs that have a lot of high frequency parts

I can install wiring, speakers, subs, head units you name it but when it comes to setting gains and all that I really have no clue on what I'm doing. I don't understand frequencies and hertz or any of that.
I learned how to set with an oscilloscope but I wonder how well it is cause I feel like the bass just doesn't hit as hard. For bass I used a 40hz test tone but I'm not sure what to use for mids and highs.

How hot your amps get? I am running a LC2i and my amps get pretty hot

I set my amp gains by a simple multi meter on 2 ohms only my amp can do 1 ohm's but since I am aiming for efficiency up to clipping on my one subwoofer. A person CAN NOT do this with a SMD DD-1 and try to overlap the gain on the amp where the micro processor on ANY CAR AMP can not do :D LOL

  • @julesbruchez-theartofgrapp9646

I did all this and actually my input voltage was starting at 12 volts!!! Anyway I set my Kicker Amp for 48 volts for a 4 ohm load for one 8” Kicker Q Class. Get this after all that the sun still played low. Didn’t matter what I did. Eventually I just brought up the gain ever so slightly and the sub came to life. I did it twice and it’s the same. My other amps play fine. But I did set them by ear and they sound great. Any suggestions?

to dumb things down, should my equalizer settings on my radio be set to normal (neutral) before i tune my amp? i dont have all this fancy stuff, just a stock radio on a does f150 and a basic amp for my subs. and if i do need to set the settings to normal before i tune my sub, i can turn them back up once the amp is tuned, correct?

Can you do a video tuning a LC2i Pro with a Alpine S-A60M and a Subwoofer S-SB12V ?, that's my setup and it would be nice if you teach us how tune it, BTY, my car is a 2017 Honda Accord EX-L V6 with factory Subwoofer,
    Thank you!

Boost & Shutter i'm watching you make the gain adjustments on the Alpine KTA-450 amp how far do you have the gains turned up on the front and rear gains, it looks like about half way if i'm correct?

up to the maximum where it doesn't produce distortion or until it delivers the right power level to your speakers. sets the gain to the lower of the two.
      Voltage=√(power×impedance)

Sorry for my ignorance but, is it the sensitivity volts that I'm looking for? I'm going to do my own install and I want to make sure I'm doing it right. I'm using these two, Prime 500 Watt Class-D Mono Amplifier R500X1D (I think it's 4V max) and Prime 500 Watt 4-Channel Amplifier
R2-500X4 (I think it's 12V max for highs). Can I get advice so I don't jack this up and waste the little money I have lol? Thank you

If you feed the amp the maximum voltage in can take in the line inputs, wouldn't you automatically have to put the amp gain in the lowest setting?

First of all. Fantastic video and easy to follow.
I do have technical question. So, I have a 1500.1d amp and pushing 800 watts at 2 ohms. But I know some of that power is lost to heat. Does this mean I should increase my amplifiers sensitivity a bit more to compensate for that loss?

I set my sub amp up with the speaker connected, using an oscilloscope (which is a better method than using just a DMM). I've read that this is more accurate, as you're measuring the signal when the voltage rails are actually loaded to account for voltage drop. Barevids has a video on this. I also do this with the car running, so it's providing the full 14.4-14.6 volts supplied by the alternator. I should also state, that my sub is capable of handling more RMS than my amp can put out.

Im buying a 2020 Accord with the premium system, im going to tap the back speakers, and merge the signal into 1 channel, then use a distribution block for 6 rca ports, then use those 3 sets for 3 equalizers to amps, my question is do play test tones with all speakers disconnected?

    • @thatguykai479
      @thatguykai479 7 месяцев назад

No disconnect all speakers and connect the speakers u plan on tuning for example front channels 1 and 2 disconnect 3 and 4 only set the gains on 1 and 2 but you’ll probably have to do this individually but you will want the same outcome out of both not two different frequencies

If Im sending 2 channels from Lc7i to 4chan and the 4chan is recommended 5v for RCA Input. Do I split the voltage to 2.5v or do I set both at 5v?
