Something to keep in mind...when you are setting the threshold, the bass will kick in hard and all of the sudden, and your maximized light should be lighting up. At this point (per two different techs that work at AC) is to turn the Accubass dial down all the way, then turn your volume up to the max at what you would normally ever play it at, then adjust the Accubass dial up slowly until you get the maximized light again, then slowly back off til it goes away. By slowly I mean like crazy slowly, or you won't get the sweet spot. By doing this, your threshold turns on when your stereo starts flatlining your bass, and when you turn it up all the way, you will know you have the most bass you can get without clipping. This is how you get the most bass between your flatline, and max volume. You're welcome.

Ok, to clarify. By Accubass dial, do you mean the the Accubass threshold dial or the top Accubass dial? Been fine tuning and wanna make sure 👍

Just a correction, according to audiocontrol, accubass affects both the main and bass outputs. So yes, it will bring up bass on the main line as well.

The ACR-1, however, only affects the sub output, which they also demonstrate using the visualizer.

Thanks SO MUCH for this video as it really does clarify many things for me. I have a very similar setup (HU rear high-level inputs into LC2i, LC2i output Main to Kicker Key 200.4 so running fronts/rears on full range with no fader as I am only using the one input on the Kicker for 4-channels (fader off), and LC2i output Bass to a Bazooka 8" amped 100W sub). So once everything is wired, when it comes to tunning and the sequence of events, based on your knowledge, correct me if I am wrong: 1) Tune LC2i Main Output and Bass Output with a test tone (Full range maybe -10db, 1000Hz or 0db, 1000Hz and Bass maybe -5db, 40Hz or 0db, 50Hz) and watch "Level" dials until "Maximized" comes on; 2) Plug in RCAs Main Level output to Kicker Amp and Bass Output to Subwoofer. This is where I am not sure on what to do next for tuning. Should I now set the Gains on the Kicker and Bazooka then turn my attention to the tuning of the Accubass "Threshold" and "Bass Output" leves?

Hey Boost & Shutter just wanted to say how much I appreciate all the knowledge you share.
    I'm in a bit of a pickle.
I just purchased a Sony 6ch amp XM-GS6DSP for my highs and mids. This amp is perfect for my application because it is a classic car and I need the Bluetooth in the amp, (keeping the dash original) so I was under the impression that the amp had Rca output for the 2nd amp. I don't plan on using the sub output on the Sony amp so I thought I would use an Audio Control LC2i to give the Sony a preout for the second amp. (JL Audio 500/1 monoblock, Which will in turn power the JL Audio 8in W7 sub)
Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated.
I really need to eliminate a head unit due to the vehicle being a classic car. So this amplifier is ideal for this set up.
I appreciate all the help gang thank you.

I was in the car audio business long ago and all I remember is how shitty inline converters were and the best way to make a reasonably good setup sound like shit was to keep the factory stereo and opt for the inline converter. The manual says that the frequency response is 33Hz on the low end. Does that mean this unit will not put out any signal below 33Hz? It also says on other parts of the website that the frequency response is 10Hz on the low end.
I’m not sure which to believe, and I don’t want something that cuts out the “sub” frequencies of the subwoofer. Otherwise, it may as well be a very large woofer.
Have any of you guys noticed not getting any sound below 33Hz out of your installs?

you could have use the low level on 2 of your channels of your 4 channel amp and left the other 2 high input channels connected. i would have done the front speaker because you then to hear them more or maybe the rears because they tend to be more of your bass and the fronts would just have a little less bass which is not always a bad thing.

My back seat mounts to the floor so it MUST be under the driver seat. I don't have power seats. I am leaning towards some kind of shelf to elevate my amp, but not sure how to do it.

Great video I have a new accord sport and the radio sucks I need to add this to fix that roll off. Shame on manufacturers making car audio a pain, just add preouts and a sub preouts, is that to much to ask? Haha

Great video. I was wondering if I can use a LC2i to run my fronts and rear channels per channel and use the bass only for my subs or do I need a LC7i to run the front and rear separate. Also, by me combining the the front channel to one channel does that change my impedance feeding to the door speakers?
I have a 2018 Honda civic Hatchback with factory stock crap radio. There are no RCA plugs. Any help thank you.

Nice video. If you used the 4 channel hi outputs from the stereo to the alpine amp using its hi level input, where did you get the high level input into the lc2i? Did you splice the wires out from the HU and run them.into the alpine and the lc2i? I assume the rca output from the lc2i can be used both right? I mean the output for bass and the available channel to the speakers amp but loosing fade. In this case you didn't go that way cause you wanted to still have fade. Would it have sounded better if you have used the output to the alpine stereo instead of the speakers hi levels to the alpine?

at 2:02 it says 400w max, does that mean i cant use it with a big 1200w amp for just bass or what?

Finally a solution to my shitty bass volume in my bmw. I know what my sub can do with an aftermarket radio unit. Right now i have the factory one and its not even half of what my sub can produce. Will this increase the subwoofer volume and punch?

I have the lc2i and am curious how to match my amps input volt with it's output volt. Currently I have the gain, bass, accubass at 95%. Running 2 Audiopipe apcl1500.1d amps strapped and after my 2 American Bass XFL 12s the amps are seeing . 25ohm before rise. The amps gain is at 50% and My volt is holding above 13v, and it's extremely loud. But I know I'm exceeding the amps volt input max, and they will get hot. My car is also a 11 STI limited. I believe the lc2i is ran off the fronts as well. Thx

      use an oscilloscope.

      @face2face11 5 лет назад

      also, please clarify your description:
"I have the lc2i and am curious how to match my amps input volt with it's output volt"... how to match the LC2i output signal voltage to the amplifier's input voltage? or "match my amps input volt with it's output volt" match your amplifier's input voltage to its own output voltage? (not trying to be a dick, but i have no way of knowing your level of expertise in this field, nor what you mean by using certain terms such as " Running 2 Audiopipe apcl1500.1d amps strapped" and "My volt is holding above 13v" (what "volt"? supply voltage? output signal voltage from LC2i/input signal voltage at amplifier?) and under what conditions? (as in, was the engine running at the time? were you using music, or test tones/sine waves, pink noise, etc?)
next, let's address the statements "Currently I have the gain, bass, accubass at 95%" and "The amps gain is at 50%"
presuming that the first statement refers exclusively to the LC2i... what "gain" are you referring to? (the only adjustable potentiometers on the device are labeled as "AccuBASS" "Main" "Bass" and "AccuBASS Threshold")
also, "95%' and "50%" seem like estimates based upon visual observation and subjective approximation.... you should really use either a DMM, oscilloscope, etc. to obtain precise (and well-defined) measurements, as this will help immensely when asking for advice from a public forum.

Then can use the main out to use equalizer and the bass out for the subwoofer at the same time ?

Great video! Question. Do I have to run all my factory speaker wires to the LC2I in order for it to control the factory output on the speakers?

    • @DLaronsView

To my research and knowledge yes, but if your factory system has rear deck speakers I believe you can tap into them at the rear deck point to run to your LC2i (somebody correct me if I’m wrong?) That might make connecting to mono amp and sub in back easier for your setup? Kinds similar to how he did in this video

Are you running the power wire from the battery? It appears to be connected to the power input on the subwoofer amplifier.
