Here are a few additional interesting facts I know about the game: - About that Keaton Mask fact: If you speak to Zelda in the german version while wearing it she literally tells you that “you look like a Pocket Monster“. - Due to a glitch the Gerudo who hands you the Gerudo token changes the color of her pants and lipstick depending on the tunic Link is wearing. This glitch was then fixed in the later versions of the game. - You can use the Fishing Rod on the Fishing Hole Man to steal his hat and reveal his baldness. Afterwards you can decide to give him back his hat or to throw it into the pond so that it is lost forever but if you do that you have to pay him back 50 Rupees as compensation.
i knew about the hat, found that by accident lol, went over to the water used the rod but when i did i accidentally hit the joystick flipped around as i was hitting the button and i nailed the fishing guy and stole his hat, laughed over that for a good long time gave it back to the guy, then just kept stealing it lol

I'm always down for more Ocarina of Time secrets and trivia! I've a few more to add: - Dark Link's health is based on your own max health. The number of heart containers you have will be the number of Master Sword hits it takes to defeat him. - Inside Spirit Temple, you can hookshot to the nipples on the statue leading to the boss room. - Dogs do not exist in the adult timeline. - The sound Ganondorf makes when he flies around are the same as when you cast the fishing rod. - The color of Saria's fairy is randomized in each new file. - When two Redeads are next to each other, defeating one will have the other one walk over to its buddy and mourn it until it disappears.

What the hell? This is my favorite game of all time. I've played it at least once a year since it came out. How am I still learning things about this game? 🤯🤯🤯
See, this is why I love this channel so much: I've played OoT more than any other video game, yet all I knew about beforehand was the Dodongo's Cavern heart, and that the Keaton mask references Pikachu
Man, I thought that by now I’d have heard every possible thing there is to know about this game. Every glitch, fun fact, secret, etc. and yet I’m still discovering new things. Great video!
A lot of these I already knew, not to diminish your finds. The one thing I didn't realize was the time blocks and the shooting gallery. That was pretty neat.
It’s incredible that as many years as it’s been and as many Zelda videos I’ve watched out there, that you still manage to throw together MULTIPLE things I’ve never seen or heard of! Keep up the good work!
One thing that is possible to do is you can go to the Skultulla House in Kakariko, swing your sword at the cursed people and they'll start swinging like a regular Skultulla. However, while they are swinging you can go around them, if they aren't they'll just follow Link around, and them swing your sword at them again and they'll cry in pain and get stunned. After a while they will be able to move again with a spin, that can actually hurt Link if he's too close.
The German version of the game is more explicit in it's comparison of Keaton and Pikachu. Talking to Zelda while wearing it gets a lone that roughly translates to "Isn't that one of those new pocket monsters everyone is talking about?"
@@kenhollis6197 no... unit means he is ripped / has a huge frame, for example, The Rock is a unit, the Mountain (from game of thrones) is a unit, and the shopkeep is built like a brick house, he is a total unit.
They probably scrapped the time block puzzles as a larger focus due to concerns over frustration, since the only way to change time periods (at least in the final game) is to exit the dungeon (or wherever the puzzle takes place), go back to the Temple of Time, take/place the Master Sword, and then make your way back to the puzzle. While the warp songs make travelling to certain key locations easier, and this process isn't too bad for puzzles like the lava pool one shown in the video where you only need the blocks to go one way, trying to make more complex puzzles with the mechanic would quickly become very tedious due to the process for changing time periods, especially if multiple trips are required.
I saw in MaskedNintendoBandit’s video that if ya wear the gerudo mask then talk to talon, he claims it looks like his wife before denying it. Wearing it then talking to nabooru will have her day it looks like her before denying it. This implies that nabooru may be talon’s wife and malon’s mother
Just double checked in oot3d and I can't believe it. I never used any of the masks aside from the mask of truth so I had no idea. It's really interesting though, I wonder why malon was born a hylian and not a gerudo then
Lorna Dune i was in the same boat. Mask of truth all the way. Knowing this fact, in my recent playthrough of OOT3D, i tried the different masks with different characters to see what would happen
Hey Zeltik have you ever considered looking at the Stalfos from skyward sword? Like how they only appear in holy locations in the Faron region in rooms designed to look/go skyward? And how a few finally get to skyloft. Unlike other summoned monsters their bones are already in those rooms, maybe they were mortals trying to go through trials meant for the hero and hubris like theirs is what brought about the odd curse of the lost woods that would spawn around farore's holy woods
I saw I secret in age of calamity of the graveyard from Ocarina of Time. You can see dampes shack and you can see Navi on gravestones and one is pushed back. And the korok looks like the kid who wears the spooky mask.

After completing OoT countless times, I never knew the blue blocks travelled through time. That’s a neat little mechanic that could have been explored more.
That mechanic is kind of present in the Spirit Temple. Maybe im remembring worng but i think it's even used with the blocks. Maybe it was with the Master Quest?
There’s a reference to Disney in Ocarina of Time. In Castle Town there’s a man running around and when you talk to him he says “I’m late, I’m late, for a very important date” which is a reference to the white rabbit in Alice in Wonderland
When anyone else makes a list like this, it's always crap that every semi hardcore fan already knows. When Zeltik does it, you know you're going to find out something new no matter how deep into the franchise you are.
It seems the video is resonating more with generations that didn't play the game in 98. i compiled a guide regarding details & easter eggs that not only contained these one but also little small details the most people don't notice.
I can't believe that I still learned something from a game I have mastered so much over more than two decades of playing it. Ocarina of Time really is, legendary.
This was a great list! Lots of great memories with these games. I have to agree about the Forest Temple. The first time I experienced that I was captivated by the mystery and the spinning Hallways felt so next gen for the time 😆 still a really cool effect actually
I remember using the Song of Time on those magic bean plants in Ocarina of Time--expecting the same results I would get in Majora's Mask--and NOTHING happening. Are you sure the fairy thing isn't just in the remakes?
Dude, this is great. I've watched all the big Zeldatuber's videos, I've read all the wikis, the guidebooks, played the games countless times. I've watched speedruns, glitch fests, and let's plays of OoT and so many others. But you dug deep. I pretty much only knew #1
Great video, it’s incredible how many little secrets are still able to be found in the game. Knew about a couple of these, but a lot took me by complete surprise! Audibly gasped at the magic bean plant animation
I really didn't think at this point there could be anything I didn't know in this video. But I was utterly shocked at that recovery heart in Dodongo's Cavern! Didn't know about the shooting gallery shopkeep either, but that recovery heart, like dang.
Seeing the blocks being moved with the song of time made me think it was a leftover idea, where the song of time is what switches you between the past and the present, not whether you have the master sword, and it would be a kind of Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver situation where switching between the two worlds would reveal passages that events in the past and future would reveal and obscure.
the hidden heart behind the lavafall in Dodongo's Cavern blows my mind, because i played a Banjo-Kazooie romhack earlier this year that adapted OoT's world and dungeons into a collectathon platformer, and there was a collectible hidden behind that same lavafall in THAT game too. every time i've played OoT since then, i always instinctively want to check for a hidden item back there, but i always assumed there would be nothing! guess it just shows how attentive to detail the romhack developer was!

See, this is why I love this channel so much: I've played OoT more than any other video game, yet all I knew about beforehand was the Dodongo's Cavern heart, and that the Keaton mask references Pikachu
I'm always sceptical of videos like this but it's crazy to learn more things about the game, the only one I knew was about the poes
Zeltik's voice is like the perfect teacher in your dreams
Zel yeah, love these videos!
It’s incredible that as many years as it’s been and as many Zelda videos I’ve watched out there, that you still manage to throw together MULTIPLE things I’ve never seen or heard of! Keep up the good work!
Thanks for your hard work Zeltik! Can't wait for all your Botw 2 analysis videos when more info becomes available.
I love this video and I love Ocarina of Time so much
I've completed this game roughly 40 times 100% and I didn't know ANY of these secrets, that's awesome!
zeltik: uploads
me: this is gonna be a good day
One thing that is possible to do is you can go to the Skultulla House in Kakariko, swing your sword at the cursed people and they'll start swinging like a regular Skultulla.
Talking to Zelda while wearing it gets a lone that roughly translates to "Isn't that one of those new pocket monsters everyone is talking about?"
great video zeltik! i love you man!
I just watched the first one a while ago, and now there's a second one. Yasss, thank you Zeltik for these I want more secrets. XD
I admit that I didn't know several of these! Specially the beans plant, it left me totally O_O!
It's crazy how many secrets these games still have despite how many years they have on them!
I’m astounded that this video had a few facts I had no idea about despite being a game I’ve been so familiar with for such a long time.
Thanks a lot.
“This absolute unit.”
I’m going to need an entire video dedicated to explaining the meaning and history of this expression.
Unit is a somewhat dated slang term for "penis," so he was calling the guy a dick without using profanity.
@@kenhollis6197 no... unit means he is ripped / has a huge frame, for example, The Rock is a unit, the Mountain (from game of thrones) is a unit, and the shopkeep is built like a brick house, he is a total unit.
@@kenhollis6197 - Should've checked rather than assumed.
A B i confirmed it in OOT3D. Was mind blown when i found it our
Just double checked in oot3d and I can't believe it.
Lorna Dune also, i’m happy that within a few hours of my comment, someone tested to confirm it! :)
that would explain the red hair
Hey Zeltik have you ever considered looking at the Stalfos from skyward sword? Like how they only appear in holy locations in the Faron region in rooms designed to look/go skyward? And how a few finally get to skyloft. Unlike other summoned monsters their bones are already in those rooms, maybe they were mortals trying to go through trials meant for the hero and hubris like theirs is what brought about the odd curse of the lost woods that would spawn around farore's holy woods
Can't believe there are still things to be discovered or covered in this game, amazing!
Saw ocarina of time in title - instant like 👍 😄 always love your n64 Zelda game coverage
These were cool! Thanks!
Love these. Just when I think I know all the secrets. I had no idea about some of these.
Pretty cool! These games never cease to amaze me!!
good video as always, learning everyday of decades old games is insane!
I spent hours with that damn bunny Hood running around at night trying to catch that goddamn guy
I actually knew all of that one except the last part of #6 and the sulking in #7. Fascinating
It takes a lot to tell me something I don't know about Ocarina. But damn, Zeltik got me a few times. Great stuff, as always.
I saw I secret in age of calamity of the graveyard from Ocarina of Time. You can see dampes shack and you can see Navi on gravestones and one is pushed back. And the korok looks like the kid who wears the spooky mask.
I was having a really bad day and saw you posted a video. Honestly, I just wanted to listen to you talk, because you have a very calming voice. I hope that doesn't sound creepy. Anyway, I just wanted to thank you for that. I actually do feel a bit better, thanks to you. ☺️❤️
Can't believe I've only just now found your channel and now have so much amazing content to binge watch!
Bro that little nook behind the lava in the lizalfos room is so cozy!! I would never have guessed!
Wow this is the first "secrets you may not know" videos on a game that I'm a huge fan of that actually showed me all knew things. Well done.
I can't believe that I still learned something from a game I have mastered so much over more than two decades of playing it. Ocarina of Time really is, legendary.
I knew nothing about the majority of these! Still discovering secrets over 2 decades later.
This was a great list! Lots of great memories with these games. I have to agree about the Forest Temple. The first time I experienced that I was captivated by the mystery and the spinning Hallways felt so next gen for the time 😆 still a really cool effect actually
It’s just amazing how a game I’ve beaten so many times manages to keep more and more secrets hidden from players. Thanks for the video!
NGL, that "jump through a wall of lava to get a heart" bit literally defies all logic.
I can't believe how many of these are new to me, after 20 years of playing this game. Incredible game!
Another secret is that if you leave the game in the console, and then go to college, your mom will sell it during a garage sale.
The Song of Time blocks just blew my mind! Thanks for sharing!
Huh. Did that bean sprout trick work in the N64 version, or was it added to the DS remake? That and the one about the shooting gallery, I had no idea.
I love your channel so much. You are a treat to listen to. Keep it up!
The Keaton mask is like an odd mix of Ninetales & Pikachu.
Dang, the time blocks moving back and forth through time was mind blowing! How cool!
I love how you keep updating videos on OCT. Don’t stop!
I legit use your videos to sleep to not I'm a bad way your voice is calming and soothing
Love you’re videos ❤️
*your videos
sorry. I just wanna make sure people know.
I have play the game several times but I didn’t know about some of the secrets. Thank you for the cool secrets
the hidden heart behind the lavafall in Dodongo's Cavern blows my mind, because i played a Banjo-Kazooie romhack earlier this year that adapted OoT's world and dungeons into a collectathon platformer, and there was a collectible hidden behind that same lavafall in THAT game too. every time i've played OoT since then, i always instinctively want to check for a hidden item back there, but i always assumed there would be nothing! guess it just shows how attentive to detail the romhack developer was!
Wow, never knew these. A reason to dust off the 3DS and try these out.
Hey zeltik at 4:54 while talking to the mask salesman, did u know that u can z-target him while standing on the other side of the gate? This works on both versions. Talk to him with the mask on while targeting on the other side of the gate. Nice little secret i think u will like.
