I bought it, love it. It's so well balanced. Do recommend the case with the pins, allows for external buttons and extremely light weight. Battery life surprising good, not as good as my older pocketbook on Linux, but has a more closed version of android still holds well on standby.
Have been able to install APKs fine without doing anything crazy, I WiFi transferred with the app they have, after that there's a button on the top right in Applications to install them. I've got Libby and Tachiyomij2k loaded no issues. But yeah no google play.
Hope to see more 1300, I've noticed more differences in manga than text. The contrast and naked screen is boss too.
Can we please have a video that shows all the different epaper tech, such as Carta, Gallery, etc? Also, tell us about the release dates for each iteration, for example, Carta 1200, 1300, etc.
There is a metal contact on the side, which is convenient for attaching a protective cover for the page turning key, allowing the machine to change from a touch screen to a click-to-turn page.
I will buy a new kindle if it comes with carta 1300

the customer service in Taobao told me that it might not able to connect wifi aboard. can it connect to Wifi outside China.
Was it cheaper from there?
You can side load app on this device or any recently launched iReader device. Just copy the apk file into APK folder and find them under applications - more (top right corner)
And go blind trying to use an app on a 6" nominal screen.....

How is the battery life?
300 ppi is awesome. I would have made the body black so that the screen appears whiter. Do 4.3 inch 300 ppi panels exist yet?
They do have black colour for this device.
You Could install an appp by put it into a specific Folder
Again, we tried three apks, copy and pasted in every single folder available via PC link
Thanks overall, and thanks for addressing Google Play right off the bat -- that's mandatory for me. My Boox Palma is on its way. Good size on this one, but I personally do not like the bezels - expect flush in 2024.
Carta 1300 is overrated. They need to focus on whiter color screens
Agreed! Contrast, ghosting, and softer refresh rates (defeats the point of E-ink and eye care) are more important imo.
Disagree. Carta 1200 is good for manga, but due to the lack of contrast and not being able to see black, you are missing detail in a lot of scenes. With carta 1300, it has an official blackpoint, so you are able to fully distinguish between white, grey, and black. That means you get a more paper-like realistic feel of manga and comics. I am excited for an 8 inch carta 1300 device to be released. It will be my main driver for books and comics and note taking.
Try installing apps throu ADB. Other than that, great review
Yes, we have been able to install apps through other developer means like rooting, and multiple other technical methods
However, that is not fair to say, blanket, that "you can install apps"
Because to the average person, for them to pick this up, plug it into their computer, no, you are not able to traditionally side load in and install. APK files

White ereaders are so beautiful. Hate black ereaders. But I also hate the price for this device.
