This is fantastic footage! Probably the best ive seen of Magic Kingdom splash in its prime. Everything is working, bright lights, all sound cues, and no broken animatronics. Thanks for this upload! Ive been watching it over and over the past couple of days haha.
Thanks so much for watching!! My parents always had a video camera with them on trips to Disney, so there will be plenty of old attraction videos (and new ones too!) to come!
@@tigermoth00 Right now I'd say its operating at about 30% animation. Figures are frozen, audio out, the final scene of the main 3 Brers not working, close to 30% of the lights are out
Now this is the Splash Mountain I remember! I was there opening day 1992 for it. Everything was working right and the audio was crisp. Looking at it now just really needs a major face lift and some new animatronics and it would be better than ever.
This is so cool seeing what it looked like back in it's hay day! I never had the chance to ride it. 6 years old I was scared of big drops and so when I was at disney I was too scared to ride this. I was also very much afraid of the dark so another reason I didnt ride it and wasn't forced to ride it either. This ride looked so charming and now this theme is being retired for something more modern with Princess and the Frog and I believe that movie flopped which is stupid to retheme a ride to a flop.
It's a shame people can't view the characters without their iffy origins. This is probably the end of the road for them which is a shame because they're really charming.
@@HyperMotionDX Yeah, I know right. I've never seen the movie and I don't know a thing about the origin of the characters, but you're right they are charming. If you think about it the origin stories to some of the princesses are darker than you think.
That glitch at 3:15 always feels so poignant. The technology is a perfect reminder that even though this footage of the attraction is grainy, it captures Splash Mountain when it was new and wondrous and carries a nostalgia that the best HD HQ footage can't convey. The glitch provides a sense of experiencing it for the first time again, as if the camera itself was startled.
Ah yes no offense no BLM no crazy cops no inappropriate shirts kids or anything. Everything was normal no stress or anxiety people didn't care and were straight and were fancy clothing And are people aware African American people were part of this project
The animatronics actually work in the Tokyo version. OLC runs their park the way Disney used too.
It’s sad to see Splash go.😢 It’s insane how the animatronics, smoke and water canon worked back when it opened
It looks like Br'er Fox's mouth isn't working in the scene where Br'er Bear is stuck in the trap.

Not only is the video quality incredible for 1992, but it also did an excellent job picking up all of the audio.
Wow a lot of rare audio! I can’t believe they had audio of brer fox threatening to skin brer bear before the final drop 😂😱
Never thought I'd ever see the million dollar bunny work properly!
We Miss U Splash Mountain 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭🥹😭🥹🥹😭😭😭
Wow! It's amazing how alive Splash looks here. Now it only operates at about 50% animation.
And 50% lighting and sound lol
Thanks for watching! I'm really glad that we were able to capture one of my favorite Disney attractions in all of it's original glory!

In typical modern Disney management fashion, they are just letting it deteriorate because that Princess and the Frog overlay is on its way.
Crazy how well everything worked
It is! I wish it still looked like this! Thanks so much for watching!

I agree! Splash in its prime is a top tier attraction! It's just not at that level right now and it's very sad. Thanks for watching!
They closed it 😢😭😭😭
@@kyle5555 I know bubba! I know…I don’t understand this!
The bre rabbit hopping animatronic is very cool, yet i have never seen it before because they probably got to lazy to fix it sadly.

The animatronics worked so much better back then
They sure did! The hopping Brier Rabbit didn’t even work the last few times I was there 😢
5:00 this ones a huge change though!

i think the camera shook too much
Brer frog isn’t in that spot today he’s on the lift hill
Yes! I wonder why they moved him.
@@LeaHandler If I had to guess they probably moved him so you get to see him for longer
But who knows why Disney does the things they do
I miss this ride
was this shot with a waterproof case?
This sounds a little louder than it did before it closed
Bre Rabbit's Ears Wasn't Working
Bre Fox's Jaw Not Moved
Now that my favorite ride is gone, I really have no reason to return to Disney now....
At 2:30 is that bird still there? I don’t think I’ve ever seen it before but always heard it.
He was definetly there when I was there a week before closure. He was usually broke so he was often missing

The fall was worst?
Thanks for watching! It's not too bad actually--it's over before you know it!
