I lived in Woodside from 1969 until 1989 when me and wife moved cross country to Washington State. Woodside was a good neighborhood when I lived there.
6:34 cool that a LIRR engineer watches your channel. Can't say I am surprised. 15:10 Thanks for that info about the Rockaway Club with MP15. Never knew locomotives ran on the Far Rockaway Branch. Not sure if I ever told you this, but when I lived in NY, Rockaway is where I lived. Sure do miss the beach. Wish the LIRR kept the Rockaway Park Branch. Would have loved to see M1 and M3 trains running out there.
In case the near track is out of service. They lay them across the unused track so trains on the next track canstop and board and unload passengers on those gang planks.
Considering how many cars these trains all have, how full are they? Just imagine how much worse traffic would be on the LIE and the parkways if the LIRR didn't exist! (And here in Atlanta, how many commuter trains do we have? ZERO!)
As a student of the Reading Commuter operation in the 1960-80s, I have a hard time understanding these trains being made up of SO many cars. They are horribly empty. The Reading would send trains out with 2 cars routinely, and even one Budd car for economy.
I never realized how busy the Woodside LIRR station is. So much action and variety! Thanks for sharing.
I miss riding the LIRR to Brentwood. Gotta love flying Yankee 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Ilove it

Washington state has beautiful scenery.
Wow!! Woodside is the busiest train station on the LIRR at rush hour. And the nbr 7 subway is overhead. Thanks Tim😀💚
I’d like to think only Jamaica rivals it.
I'm so sorry for you
I'm so sorry for you
Flying Yankee is our guy 👍🏾👍🏾🔥🔥🔥
Hicksville - Penn Station, and I always pass through here during rush hour traffic on the LIRR.

Awesome Video!
The cannonball train is on the railway today it has the engines 502 and 505
seems as if Meatball Man changes jobs a lot. he used to do 664 i remember that, I'd hear him mostly Mondays and Tuesdays.
He’s back diesels. He worked 76 today
Summer trains are back!!! Memorial Day Weekend!!!
Full pre-pandemic schedule 😀😀😀
9:56 what an interesting sound that motors are making

My favorite LIRR station!
28:52 M7 echo.
What are those platforms used for?

Nice video
7:32 MOTOR SOUND
Is there any decent view of all of this from the subway platform overhead?
Pretty good
First!
On another note, can't wait to see what trains are in this video.
21:10 good ole M3
Tim did you ride the new Subway cars? I think the A train have them
The R211 is on the (A) line.
2:49 2LIRR AND MTA TRAIN
what is the whining sound that these trains make?
Believe it is the traction motors. The M7 (train with the black on front with the yellow line) sounds the best to me.
Great video... which App do you use to track the trains? traintime?
Yes plus tips from other fans. Others from experience
Do we see Memorial Day Friday trains?
Later. Stay tuned
3:34 i love train sound
Woodside is very busy
Train 14 has the diesels in electric mode. Normally I thought they put them in diesel mode as soon as they got out of the tunnel.
Soon after tunnel they switched
Now hold up what is the station called Ronkonkoma
Or metro north Hudson line
3:40
Why do they run the diesel engines when in electric territory?
They go to diesel territory destinations
0:29 WAIT MTA TRAIN AND LIRR

Some are jam packed
The Rocket never has M9s
It did one day this week
It did a week or two ago also
@@3985uprr Oh man i missed riding it

They are quite crowded actually. They had to lengthen trains because the shorter trains were loaded with standees
Interesting. SEPTA just reported that ridership is still 54% below pre pandemic levels.
