My son is a music major in college, he plays the viola and is quite good. The first time I heard this version I asked him if he could play it on a viola. I hope he surprises me one day and plays this at one of his recitals. I can listen to this repeatedly which I do almost every day. Wonderful, just wonderful, between 1:16-1:59.

Mari is obviously a virtuosa. Apart from that, or perhaps because of that and the person she truly is, she is so incredibly SOULFUL in her touch and feel and interpretative sense. She redefines the word. This is gorgeous. Her interpretation of Richter's "Mercy" is other-worldly. In my humble opinion.
