Lisa - I just want to thank you for sharing all of your great and detailed videos. I'm doing a NOBO thru-hike of the App trail starting in March 23, and I've must have watched your how to pack your backpack video a dozen times so far. Your daily videos are helping me to keep my plans realistic and optimistic! Thanks for your energy and all your efforts and just sharing your journey. I'm still watching your daily videos and can't wait to see you finish. Happy Trails, Tex!

Love the sunrise and the song birds! Looks Super busy up there on Blood Mountain. If you see daffodils in the woods there used to be a homestead near by.
As for the spiders I’ve often wondered the same thing, how do they do it? As for toilet time, better in town than on the trail! On the trail toilet time sucks!
Haha. I just dislike getting to camp later in the day so much (which is a normal time for everyone else), that it makes it worth it to me. Rip off the bandaid and deflate that air pad! It helps me to sleep in my hiking clothes on those cold night too. You pop out ready to roll.
Amazing adventure so far ! Could you speak about the Water bottle with the tube. Did you make that, purchase it somewhere ? Thank You ! Keep on Hiking North ! Cheers from NH.
I love it. It’s just a smart water bottle with the straw and correct sized cap included with the item in the link below. It’s out of stock currently on Amazon but you may have luck googling it. And the just a camelback mouthpiece on top of the cap. www.amazon.com/dp/B004QMF0U8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_CM8ZXMFYZQEV82EGVBS5?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
@@lisaphikes Thank You, from New Hampshire - I will check it out. My wife and I are enjoying your video's. I'm 70 years young and still hiking too. Cheering you on "up the trail". Thank You for your posts with lots of hints and suggestions. Stay Safe !!
I admire that tree with the shoes. Statistics or no, I can imagine quite a few people realize pretty quickly that no, this is not for them. And that's OK, I mean, I would guess it was from lack of preparation, or maybe an adjustment to an idealized version of what would happen but still, it's a learning process and I can see a smiling face owning their moment "Yeah, No!" but reminding you they were here too.
Wild daffodils are such a happy surprise in the woods. My husband and I call those breaks "appreciation breaks." Loving following along on your adventure!
Most of the time, when you see daffodils or other domesticated flowers up its usually an old home site nearby. Not sure about there. Lots of that in the Smokies and western nc. I'm sure some spread by birds or what not. Those mountains had a lot people living in places that are now public land. Check the history as you go, it's interesting.
I sooooo wanted to say it with him on camera! 😆 but he declined being on camera except for a pan shot. Can’t blame him. Met him last year too. He’s real cool.
Good tips !! I never thought about how a spider starts their web 🤔 I have to clear spider webs form my car port every morning. I live in these NE Texas woods with plenty of spiders and copperheads. Your doing great ! Enjoying your videos! 💪
Love your "deep thoughts". Google is my friend: two trunk trees - Inosculation is a natural phenomenon in which trunks, branches or roots of two trees grow together. It is biologically similar to grafting and such trees are referred to in forestry as gemels, from the Latin word meaning "a pair". And spiders web is taken across gapa by the wind... Love being a part of your journey vicariously!
Oooooh that’s a nice idea. I am very partial to Tex. Even though it’s unoriginal, I was Tex at the Grand Canyon even before the trail. But I’ll have to mill that one over...

How does this happen ?
It looks like a “marriage”
When two trees grow together.
The one tree leaning looks like
“Phototrophism”
Looking for the light.
Trying to find sunlight it grows
Side ways.

I saw the same tree on my section hike. That’s my favorite one!

Beautiful sunrise!!!! Thank you for sharing!!!🥾🥾⛺️

I have a Texas shirt like that.

I love that idea!
Spiders use the breeze to string their web ❤
Daffodils may have been an old homesite.
I enjoyed your video! Thanks for sharing!

Remember Goliad! Following from the Gulf Coast of Texas about 3 miles from the San Jacinto Monument!
Heck yeah! Don’t tread on me, man
The Tip I would like to know is what you do to get yourself up so early, when ur tucked in the sleeping bag on a cold spring morning?

I hiked in 2019. I’ve watched a LOT hikers on RUclips and I love your videos! I’ll follow you the whole way.
Wow what a compliment. Thank you!
Liked the cabin. Wonder how long it took to make. Looks like you had a marvelous day. Keep trekking.
Don’t know, but it was made by the CCC boys.
The views from Blood Mountain last October of the fall colors was amazing! Hike on fellow Texan! Love the shorts!
You scenery shots are beautiful!
Those are invasive daffodils :] could be fragments of an old homestead

New subscriber, enjoying your videos.
Congrats on Neel Gap! Nice views on Blood Mt. Enjoyed thanks

The spider strands are actually carried by the wind to the next tree. that's how they start the web. Then crawl across the rest of them!!
Magical!
The yellow flowers where I live usually are found around old house places.
Yay! IBTAT!

Love watching your hike
My "get up that hill" method is step count. Its all based on how steep the climb is. It has worked real well for me.
Wow busy weekend on the mountain. That was a great sunrise on the trail awesome update.🌲👍
Great video. Enjoying your journey.
Thanks for toting us up the hill for the sunrise. Beautiful!
I really like that you show a bunch of your encounters with other hikers. Not many vloggers do. 🍀
I use the exact same trick to get up climbs!
Great day. Thanks for sharing.
Did IBTAT say "Goid morning MFer" to you?
I sooooo wanted to say it with him on camera! 😆 but he declined being on camera except for a pan shot. Can’t blame him. Met him last year too. He’s real cool.
@@lisaphikes he's a character for sure

I went over Blood Mt in a thunderstorm. I missed taking in the views on top but i'm glad I missed the crowds.
IBTAT.... should have his own TV series from the trail.... hiking somewhere new everyday
Tip#2 is very very good
Process foods ... you get what you get.

Whoa, thanks for those knowledge nuggets!!
That’s so cool! I’m in this video on blood mountain. Thanks Tex my thru hike is immortalized 😎
Awesome! Glad that worked out well!
Glad you are in good Spirits.
I love your positivity.
We call those “ Flavor Spots” 😃
Good pun near the beginning. I hope that you talked to IB TAT. He's very knowledgeable. Good Luck, Rick
Wow, that's the most people I've ever seen at Blood Mtn shelter in a hiker video
Why hike so early in the dark ? Sun raise
Sunrise, finish hiking early and get a good campsite, plus my body’s just tuned to the morning hours
Nice hiking 🥾! Evidently the sketchy food did not complicate your day on the Trail! Kind of a close call tho!🤣🤣👍
🤙
Your trail name should be “daybreak”.
