    Most of the areas you talked about are upscale, expensive parts of Philly. You forgot about the Roxborough/Manayunk area. I've lived here all my life. It's middle class & low crime. Manayunk has Main Street which is a little too upscale & expensive for me but it's nice. It's funny bc it used to be if you were from Manayunk, you were looked at as low class bc it was considered a poor, tough part of town. But now it's dramatically different. It's changing alot with millennials requiring everything to be so upscale. I guess bc they like to fake like they are rich. It used to have a blue collar charm & still does in some areas. I love it here & it's a great place to live.

      Beautifully said Shugs. Roxborough and Manayunk are great neighborhoods on the outskirts of the city. I would through Conshohocken in there too. Lots of live in these areas, low crime and mostly on the upper end of affordable for most families. Personally, I favorite Manayunk with the great shops and restaurants. If you couldn't tell, I'm a fan of good food :)

    Hello! I just want to say that Philly is my home and I can mention a few places that are way more safe and way more peaceful then the places you just mentioned. I live in the Parkwood area. There is more greenery in this area too. You definitely see more wildlife as well. I see deer 🦌 all the time and snakes 🐍 too. It’s a hop skip & a jump away from Bensalem. I would live here over any of those other places that were mention on your list but that’s just me 🤷🏻‍♀️

    Hi 🙋‍♀️, I wanna thank you first for your informative videos, 2nd I wanna know your opinion about moving to south Jersey (I’ve been living in Philadelphia for a long time now) , I just had my 1st baby, I’m in the hunt for a house & I started thinking about south Jersey because of the house prices , but I’m kind of lost because the lack of informations about living in Jersey , I will be super happy if anyone can advice me, Thank you!

    • @LivinginPhiladelphia

      It's great to get positive feedback from viewers. Thank you for watching. As for South Jersey, there are many great areas throughout. Just like Pennsylvania, there is something for everyone. The Garden state (NJ) is no exception. I would suggest, first speaking with a lender (let me know if you need suggestions). This tells you what your price range is. Next you should speak with a realtor, buyers DO NOT pay commission when purchasing a home. Your realtor can set you up on a MLS search (Keep it broad, then narrow it down as you figure out exactly what you want) and they offer representation when negotiating while helping you navigate the many moving parts of the biggest purchase in your life!

    Just a suggestion. Rather than just talking about the neighborhoods it would be more useful to actually show some footage of them while you were talking about them. (most good RUclips channels will offer this and I think it keeps people interested through the whole video - otherwise it comes off just like some sort of school lecture). I listened to the first description of one neighborhood but it was very difficult to visualize and I’ll be finding another video that actually shows me what it looks like. The information is great and I appreciate it, but without actually seeing footage, this video isn’t quite as useful as other videos on RUclips. Again, the information is excellent, but without any footage of the neighborhoods (And if there is, this video waited way too long to show it) It’s just a lot of information that’s a bit too dry.
    Also, I will add the reason that I chose this video is because your thumbnail made it seem like you would be actually showing footage of the actual neighborhoods. So great thumbnail. But doesn’t represent the video. Which made it a bit more like clickbait for me.

    Sir Is It Safe to live in Philadelphia??

    • @LivinginPhiladelphia
      @LivinginPhiladelphia  3 года назад +1

      That is a great and valid question. The answer is YES, it is safe. There are of course areas that have a higher likelihood of a crime happening. This is true in every city. The fact is, if you are looking for something specific, Philadelphia has something for everyone. We have helped many families move here and we absolutely love it! Contact me directly if you are looking for a more personal list of properties for sale.

      Nope, these are legitimate great places to live. It is true, Philadelphia has rough spots, it always has and it always will. There are things we need to improve on, as all places do. But there is so much to love and discover in this great city of ours. Some love it and some hate it ✌
