I was introduced to PP when I was 10 with the release of "Return Of the PP" in '75. Going back to watch the originals from the '60's interesting to see many of the same actors in the 70's reboot. The guy who kept having his fingers broken was with sellers since his early days of Radio.
One of the most underrated comedy series ever. Herbert Lom played a great part as the Lunatic Chief inspector, probably was not applauded for it during his lifetime. Cato and Clueso were just perfect. These will always make me laugh.
I always always broke down laughing whenever Cato tries to murder Clouseau. Rest in peace, I still miss these two great actors. They were true masters of physical comedy.
Herbert Lom was brilliant as the long suffering commissioner. He was also in the classic film The Lady Killers where he also played alongside Peter Sellers, and Alec Guinness (who went on to play Obi Wan Kenobi in Star Wars, for you younger generations).
Love it, just love it! Sellers at his best! Brings back precious memories of my childhood when I watched this film with my father and older brother. It was a repeat affair of course!🤣
Clouseau has no idea his boss hates him with a passion. Dreyfus didn’t even wanted to mourn him when he disappeared , but was pressured by his wife to give a thoughtful eulogy to Clouseau (much to his absolute dismay), but when the Inspector came to his own funeral in disguise, Dreyfus immediately fell apart in the “dead” Inspector’s grave.
