    Great video. I appreciate your straight forward approach. I get tired of the videos where people are constantly giggling and or just making small talk. You get right to it and all information given pertains to the subject. What a refreshing change. THANK YOU!

      Thanks @Jacqueline Couture Thank you so much! Personally, I prefer straightforward videos as when I go searching for a question I want the answer without a lot of extra dialogue, which is why I deliver my videos the way I do, and why in the video descriptions I show what is being presented at what times so viewers can skip to the portions they want.

    BECAUSE THE BOTTLE SAYS TO SHAKE WELL, I KEEP LISTENING FOR THE BALL. THOUGHT I HAD A BAD BOTTLE. THIS VIDEO TELL ME I AM NOT GOING CRAZY. THANKS. GOOD PRESENTATION,

      No, I asked many many people who confirmed they had issues hearing the ball in the Snowcap. The ball you see in the video was so stuck to the bottom I had to fish it out with a blunt end needle, and even then it wasn’t easy. I find storing them on their sides helps alot because the pigment doesn’t settle in nearly as small a space.

    Thank you so much for answering so many questions in one video. I was confused when looking for white in the stores, due to the Ranger named “Mixative”. Not sure and afraid to buy. Now that I have my answers .... off to Michael’s I go. THANK YOU!

      @De Chesino Thanks for your feedback! It took me a long time to figure out what a "Mixative" was, and what the difference was between a "Mixative", a "Metallic" and a "White"...I made this video to spare other people the frustration and confusion!

    I have a question and I hope it’s not too late to answer...
    I have the blanco banco which I’ve used with piñata colors as the sinker successfully
    I went to buy more and they only had the rangers brand so I decided to try
    I got the ranger and I noticed that it doesn’t have the blending solution only the snowcap so my question is... can I use blanco blanco as the mixer along with the ranger alcohol inks?
    Oh I hope you see this and have a little time to answer I ruined a piece using the snowcap as the mixer 😔
    by the way I’m using them in resin
    Thank you so much for this video!💕

      @user-fk3dc5jr8i Apologies - I have been working throughout the pandemic as I'm also an RN. I would always suggest trying it with a very small sample so you don't risk ruining an entire piece.

    Great video!! Thx so much. Do u find that humidity plays a part in how alcohol inks blend or react? Humidity where I live is usually over 60% and I’m wondering if that’s why I don’t always get the same results. I like the whispy effect.

    • @SerenaHannahStudio
      @SerenaHannahStudio  5 лет назад +1

      @Kristine Kerr Absolutely! I've had people who live in humid environments struggle with the Alcohol Inks as it changes the evaporation and reactivity of the inks. The wispy effect is achieved partially because of rapid evaporation through heat which becomes a challenge in humid environments. I would consider playing with a really high heat tool like a heat gun or embossing tool to get the effect.

    I bought a new white from piñata today. The blanco, and it sublime all my other inks in that it’s ‘bitty’ and even with shaking it up it comes out lumpy and dries funny. Am I doing something wrong or should I take it back to the art shop?

    • @SerenaHannahStudio
      @SerenaHannahStudio  5 лет назад +3

      @Jess Holden I don't think you are. That is what the Blanco is known for: it tends to get really clumpy, especially when exposed to Isopropyl Alcohol. It definitely doesn't react like the Snowcap which is why many don't use it. That being said, I use Blanco in a lot of my work precisely because of this characteristic and just treat it as a separate product in its own right. If you look at the paintings in my Instagram feed (@SerenaWebberStudio) most of the creamy blue and turquoise pieces have Blanco in there, so you can get really nice results with Blanco with practice. I would keep the bottle and play with abstracts using the Blanco. You may be pleasantly surprised :)

      Serena Webber Studio oh, and one more question!- I adore the way the piñata gold sits on the surface and creates gold flakes rather than mixing with the other colours, but the silver doesn’t do this, I was wondering if you knew of a brand that did a silver that flakes like the piñata gold. Alcohol inks are so hard to get ahold of in the UK, can only seem to get piñata ones and the odd ranger one on amazon, but if you knew of a silver that did I’d order it from America. X

    • @SerenaHannahStudio
      @SerenaHannahStudio  5 лет назад +2

      @@jessH090 The silver seems to be a different formulation from Pinata's Gold or Brass. Some have had more luck with the Ranger. I definitely get it: even though we're just to the North of the USA, it can be very challenging to get some products in, not to mention expensive when you factor in exhorbitant shipping fees and customs.

      Yes, they take about 30 minutes to 3 hours depending on how thick the white pigment is applied.
