Glad to see a return to fishing videos, whether you catch or not. THIS is what will keep me coming back. I have been in Bathurst minding a house and dog for the last 3 weeks (1 more week to go) and while here I have been out 10 times (whenever the weather was cloudy) and all blanks. On the day you were fishing the Duckmaloi, I was fishing the Campbells - also saw fish there but could not interest them in my fly. After your previous Duckmaloi outing in March (which I re-watched last week) I decided to change plans and go to the Cox's (at Duddawarra Bridge) instead of the Duckmaloi (yesterday Monday 4 Nov), where I saw several fish feeding in a beautiful pool (you will likely know the one where the river cascades either side of an island down into a lovely mostly still pool). I tried numerous small flies and emergers but could not interest them. The water was very low as are all the central west rivers right now and it is very challenging. I was gutted (considering I changed my plans) to see those two fish in this Dockmaloi video - they were lovely and hey, you had the first one on for a long time - in my mind that is an encounter and only missed the quietness and relief you get to spend a few more seconds with a fish when we get them to the net. An encounter more than I have had over the last 10 sessions. One or two more sessions for me before I leave Bathurst and return to my Turrammurra billet; fingers crossed I can get this monkey off my back. Thanks for sharing - super nice video.

Oh I feel your pain LG. Good to see you getting into a few fish on the Duk though!! It’s a challenging river in some respects, but it rewards patience, stealth and persistence well!!!

That was a horse for the duck !
Was that the ‘trying not to tread on snakes’ hook-set ? 😉
