It can be a very very inhospitable place, and looks like you got the full Oberon welcome. Fished that section many many times over the years…it’s patchy!! Skunked, to absolutely brilliant. Fishing for cruisers over the bar can be productive when they are on n patrol in the evening. Good luck this weekend LG! Hope the river smiles and brings you a bounty!!
@@anthonyclark6118 thanks for the intel Anthony - the water is area around Reef Reserve has all the qualities to be a great fishery - I will definitely give that area a 2nd go…
@@robertlouis24 good process=good results over time. TCD, Oberon are both patchy at times. Particularly from the bank. You won’t have the level of consistency you can get on the EuC. The experienced local still water anglers I know recommend lake Lyle if your after a bit more consistency. But as you know as well as myself sometimes you gotta ‘pay the penance’, get skunked, but put the data in the bank for next time. 2.5 days till ‘river Christmas’ 😀😀😀😀😀
I love how this is anti click bait, "flishless trip". Almost feels like coming back to reality a bit reading an honest title for the first time in 10 years 😄
Well, I was really excited to see you were trying Oberon. But there was basically no fishing on this "fishing video" - I don't know about your other followers, but I check in to see you fish. No joy here. Like I have said before in your videos, I think we want to see fishing, not just catching.
@@joosepflies I hear you - possibly consider this video more about me suggesting a spot where the Lake can be comfortably fished from (Reef Reserve), the fact that the lake is generously stocked, and that the countryside around the Lake is stunning… I do catch a 5 pound rainbow during my next trip to Carcoal Dam, which I will upload soon…
Beautiful scenery, Robert, and a close call with an Eastern Brown snake, all in a days fly fishing!
Money shot ten mins or just shy gotta love the weeeeber :)
Great Video mate :)
Sorry to hear you didn't catch, there's a lot of mainly Rainbow Trout in there. Beautiful spot Rob 😁👍
