My Truck Hit Next To RR Crossing, Welded Rail Train Bends Thru City, Giant Trains & Caboose On Rear

- My Truck Was Hit By Another Truck, Continuous Welded Rail Train Snaking Through Town, Train With Caboose On Rear & 2 Trains That Are Nearly 2 Miles Long Each! CSX & Norfolk Southern Trains At My Favourite Railroad Crossings In Hamilton, Ohio On ex Baltimore And Ohio Railroad Track. Kasgro Heavy Duty Depressed Center Flat Car And Grinch Graffiti On Boxcar.
The first train is really awesome! It is a loaded Continuous Welded Rail train ( CWR ). This is a Norfolk Southern train on the CSX Toledo Sub. Just look at all those long strings of rail. You can see the train bending slightly to the right in the distance as it is coming and then when I pan to the left you can see it bending around that slight curve. It's interesting that the rail is flexible like that and how easily it bends. While I was sitting in my truck looking at the video that I just made of that train I hear a loud boom. A truck was trying to get around a bicycle and hit my rear view mirror, destroying it. I show the damage in this video, it's just a minor accident. The driver pulled over so I talked to him and told him to forget about it. I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't hit by a drunk driver again. I talked about it in my last video but didn't show this video of it.
The next train is a giant CSX mixed freight. This train is close to two miles long. Check out the special 12 axle car on it. This is a Kasgro depressed centre flat car that can carry giant transformers. I do have videos of them loaded in other videos. Kasgro is located in New Castle, Pennsylvania about 30 miles north of Pittsburgh.
The next train is a CSX local switcher. It is running southbound to swap cars and return in a few hours. This train has a transfer/platform caboose on the rear. The video that I put out yesterday shows the caboose going in the opposite direction and leading the train. You gotta see that son!
The last train is another gigantic mixed freight. This is a Norfolk Southern manifest running northbound on the CSX Main 1 track. I like the orange potash cars on this train. They appear to be pink when they fade. The train is seen going next to the abandoned paper mills. Look at the view the homes have on the left hand side!
What did you think of the welded rail train? I am thinking of making a CWR compilation video because I have filmed about a dozen of them in the past five years or so. Did you like seeing the caboose at the rear of the train the way they ran on this line until 1985? Don't forget to see the Live Action Pets at the end of the video and the special slide show that comes from this video. I am planning on travelling a lot after I get healed from surgery. For now I need to stay within a hundred miles of home. I have plans to film in northern Indiana and northern Ohio soon. I am also going to be in Florida again.
Filmed Monday, January 22, 2024 in 1080p with 60fps. Thanks for watching!

Sorry about your truck. If a person can't avoid a parked vehicle, they probably shouldn't have a license.
Absolutely correct
I agree totally.
yep exactly
And the asshole who hit your truck probably doesn't have insurance
And they should quit hitting the bourbon as well. (Or whiskey, or vodka, or whatever.)
like the look of vintage building with the brick front
Sorry about your truck, JT. Guard your health while you are making these great videos! It's amazing how those rails bend with curves. I have a degree in metallurgical engineering and it still amazes me how something thar rigid flows through the curves. Thanks for some really great entertainment.
That long welded track train was very cool!
Always glad to see the little caboose!
Thanks for going out in the cold weather to film, JT!
Glad you enjoyed it
Glad to hear you're feeling better Mr. Tooth!
J.T. Those were great videos. I love watching your videos. I used to work at a paper company and it’s sad to see all of the empty paper buildings now. They closed the Big Champion building’s in Canton North Carolina last year and it’s just sad. These companies employed hundreds of workers and towns were built up by these companies and now they’re gone. It’s import paper. You do a great job videoing trains.
Sorry to hear about your surgery JT. You might recall I told you that I had a Quad Bypass shortly after the grandson and I met you in Hamilton. I'm still trying to recover enough to get out in this frigid weather! You're a dedicated soul buddy. But that's what makes you Jaw Tooth!
Thanks for your comments! I hope you are feeling well also. I am feeling well enough right now that at this minute I am packing my bag and heading to Florida tonight. I have videos scheduled for the next week but I will put some Florida shorts up also
@@JawTooth we'll be watching! Good luck and have a good safe trip!
Again awesome video Jaw Tooth your looking great to bad about your truck anyway all your videos are beautiful and country 🚂🚂🚂🚂👍😃😎♥️ Again awesome stuff and enjoying watching too Jaw Tooth awesome ❤
I had one replaced on my car for $250.00. Got it from the local boneyard and paid my mechanic to install it. Since I have a $500 deductible I left insurance out of it. The rail train was cool and it seems the number of manifests is up. Awesome Hamilton action, enjoyed it much. Thanks JT!
Thats what my deductible is also. I might see what they have on Ebay
That’s expensive for a boneyard part. But we all have seen the prices go up up up even value village i was shocked at the way they raise prices for things they get free .my favorite is can i keep the change ?
@@mikes7639 I think the boneyard price was under $100 and the total price came to $250 with labor.
Superglue & live with it?
As a model railroader that lives where there are no more trains, some of these locations you get to, are wicked! Those old abandoned industrial buildings in the background are great for modeling. And thank you for showing us the location on the map... so I can find it on street view and look at different angles. Thanks Ol' boy!
I appreciate your comments and thanks for watching my videos! I have big plans for this year
Hi my friend, awesome video, I liked it, have a nice day and greetings from Brasil 🇧🇷
Thank you! You too!
I really enjoy seeing all your awesome train videos.
GLAD TO SEA U BACK.
Thanks!
Merci beaucoup pour cette très belle vidéo ! ✨✨
Good to see you. Sorry to hear you needed surgery. Always amazed how a vehicle with zero turning capacity can navigate sharp turns like that.
Thanks, I had what is called the All On 4. It is very painful and I wish I hadn't done it. Anyway, thanks and thanks for watching!
Thanks for braving the cold 🥶 and snow ❄️. Feel better soon
Yes, thank you
People are driving recklessly now. Sorry to hear about your truck, JT! :( Can't imagine what a truck mirror goes for. A Toyota Camry mirror (sheared off by a truck!) cost $100 plus labor.
Agreed! Mine also just got hit. 2017 Nissan Armada with all the crazy stuff like sensors for drive mode and adaptive cruise, heater, dimmer for bright lights, motors, lights, bears, oh my, $2581, person didn't leave a note, got complicated for no reason. His Ram truck looks like it at least has a heater, and servo motors to move.. Guessing around a thousand, but the guy stopped, so that's good. People need to pay better attention fo sho😊
Right around 40 years ago, I stopped seeing cabooses. Now, it look like they're making a comeback. When I was a kid, a 100 years ago, I used to watch a kids show called "Captain Kangaroo". On one show they sang a song called " Little Red Caboose." After all these years, I still remember that song.
A simple mirror from a 1960s car turns into a very expensive fix for a 2010 plus car eith all the electronics.
12:49 - I liked that depressed-center flat car. The old Erie Railroad, with its reputation for hauling oversize loads, owned a fair number of those.
I have a few of those in my collection. Not KRL (Kasgro) though. Fortunately Atlas O will soon be shipping one...in O scale anyway :D
JT, your pets do not have weird eyes. Their eyes have cells full of crystalline material which reflects light, which has already passed through the retina, to pass through it a second time, making their night vision better than ours.
Spot on.
At least the guy came back to the scene another great video from Hamilton welded rail trains are always great catch I hope you are doing better great video thanks Brian
I like your animals
Thanks!
Those potash corp cars were originally designed in Canada for the company Potash Corp primarily ran on CN Rail in Saskatchewan Canada but very rare to see now since Potash Corp Merged with Nutrient in 2018 ......most common potash cars now are Cantopex
Fan from Sask Canada
Rain Rain,Rain. On with the show.
Trains have good Lottery numbers!
Really glad that you’re feeling better.
I'm glad you mentioned the old siding and what it was used for, that's always interesting to me.
Glad you enjoyed it
Im so sorry to hear about your surgery. Im praying for complete recovery for you! Take care and stay safe!
thanks
Great catches and awesome video jaw tooth
That rail train is something else! Hard to understand how it gets around the curve. Glad you are continuing to feel better. Don’t overdo it. ❤
It must have swinging trucks on the cars that hold the rail I guess.
@@nancyoffenhiser4916the rail just bends with the curve. It pretty flexible, until secured in place.
I was wondering the same thing about the rail flexing around the curve.
Big motors sounding good!
Good Morning to Brian and all the fans!
Good morning Jon
I can set my watch to Jon Watt.
Good morning to you from the UK. 🇬🇧❤😊
Hello there!
Yes, JT...your camera did pick up the classic FDL-power rumble from the "belly of two (GE) beasts" @6:20....very cool. Listen to that gorgeous Nathan horn atop Geep38-2 2635 on the Local with a caboose. Local freights are very cool...down here in Central Florida, CSX hosts a bunch of 'em...L772 is a favorite in my area between Winston Yard (Lakeland) and Davenport...always an adventure! I've probably said this before...worth mentioning again...Hamilton is an awesome place to train watch. Your winter scenes, in this video, with those beautiful skies, are perfect. 👍👍
If you can't find a mirror at your local junk yard, Walt's Auto Wrecking in Springfield (US 68) often has one at only 75% of the cost of a new one!
The welded rail train was awesome JT!!! I was fortunate enough to see rail like that being unloaded locally many years ago. What a cool operation! I would love to see how they load it. And that's a beautiful old brick building on the far side of the train! For some reason, it seems like architecture in industrial buildings isn't a consideration any more.😮 Fabulous catch! 😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤
I like the building too
Glad you are doing better after the surgery you had. Terrible way to start the year off, know that feeling. Real cool welded rail train.
It affected me more than I was expecting
Good morning jt
What's really neat is how the welded rails trains go around curves, get well, excellent video, btw those were some spooky glowing eyes
Thanks 👍
An ouch for the truck. Glad you are feeling better. Loved the rail train.
Thanks 👍
Sorry about your truck tooth. I love watching your videos. I just turned 65 on Jan 21. Your videos bring me back to my childhood.
Glad you’re feeling better JT. Thanks
Thanks!
That 8 minute train is why people want to get around that signal.
Hi my friend it me Eric your homme number 149 train thank you my friend 1 love 👐😁👐👍🏿😁👍🏿
Thanks for coming Eric!
Glad you are feeling better
I wish you a speedy recovery
Beautiful you can't be replaced
File a claim with your insurance company
Can't believe the way people drive these days. That was awesome to see they was hauling what they roll on there. Very awesome live action there my friend.
I think the mirror can flip back into position. That’s happened on my older dodge van. The glass not being broken, may be able to be glued back on the adjuster mount.
Not glued. It fixes on a couple of hinge points. The metal tabs hold it in place. There’s a RUclips video on how to do it.
You're a good guy Jawtooth.😊
Rail trains are cool and awesome
Hey Jaw Tooth, glad your feeling better and get about more. Those Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan cars are painted Salmon colour. You probably don't see Salmon in Ohio, but its a great sea food fish from the Pacific Ocean.
Hey Jaw Tooth I like your videos I love trains I’m a retired dump truck I from Chicago Illinois I’ve become more educated about trains thanks to you and Shoestring take care man can’t wait to see your next video’s
Thanks 👍
I'm grateful for your videos . I am glad your feeling better . We were worried about you
I appreciate that
Love Hamilton, the land of long trains and where the train horns echos in the open space. They just seem to sound louder there. Love welded rail trains. Great catch! Thanks for the video Brian, stay warm roll on
I agree with you. I love filming in Hamilton and welded rail trains are one of my favourites. I am going to put about 6 or 7 of them into one long video and call it Welded Rail Trains Galore!
@@JawTooth No serious damage. I guess if you park your truck anywhere, you'll have to fold in the mirrors.
@@FabianDiazTrainsTrucksNCars For sure. I didn't ever think that would happen
Sorry to hear about the mirror of your truck got damaged, I'm sure hope everything's okay, great catching all the trains by the way, I like the trains, @JawTooth, Brian, thank you.
Thanks 👍
Thanks for mentioning my birthday. Get well soon. I sure watching your videos.
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching!
Saw a welded rail train go by behind my house yesterday here in Marietta, PA. Single locomotive, 6 axle wide cab, running long hood forward. I thought to myself, that's got to be uncomfortable for the crew especially the engineer.
Great video as always. Glad to hear you are healing from the surgery. Stay safe and warm!!!
Ive just thought JT, The old abandoned paper mill would make great apartment's its a beautiful building, need to like trains though. Shame uts sat there empty. ❤😊
I got a rail train up there last week that came up the New Castle and went North. First train I`ve ever caught coming North on the New Castle in Hamilton.
Good morning Jaw Tooth.
Prayers to you sir ..so glad back up and atem ..
Hey sorry about your truck Jawtooth. Loved all the trains. That one sure was long. Cool video 👍❤️
Thank You Jaw Tooth nice catches for shure!
Thank you too!
So glad you are feeling better 🙏. So sorry to hear about your truck 😕
We're so sorry about your truck getting hit and you're freezing. Sad😢. You're appreciated for all your sacrifices in bad weather.❤ Sweet fur babies. Chessie wants to sleep. Loved this video. Thanks. ❤😊
First train with the nice impressive cars of new steel rail. Since they were low on gondolas that monster CSX train tried to make up for it with coil cars Ingot Flats a few regular gons and some battered scrap cars and even a car headed for scrap. Since we couldn't scrounge up a DPU the local came back with one potato two potato empty reefers Last train has a bit of a fluke in that there are two separate groups of small tank cars with a QLF sticker in the upper left corner which stands for Quality Liquid Feeds. They have about 10 plants across the US and it seems all have rail service but their HQ are in Dodgeville WI which sadly has no rail service since the C&NW dropped service on the former Ridge Runner line. Good to see the temps going up to help assist in your spirits going up
G ,good to see you again.
I’ve had it happen to get your mirror off a rock auto it’s cheaper there. I just live down the road from you. Good videos Joel tooth.
Good Wednesday morning JT, glad you’re feeling better. Another great video.
Excellent Video!
🎄💮🇮🇳💮🎄
Another great set of clips. I wish they did not go to a commercial right in the middle of a train. I like counting the cars in the train.
Glad you enjoyed it! I am trying to figure out how to remove that commercial without turning them all off
You need to take it easy, and I hope you have been. I've not caught up since you went for surgery and I see a lot of videos to catch up on. That cold had your face frozen a couple of times there though. I hope they send more nice long trains that don't have you running about much, sir. Sorry about the wing-mirror but the guy was good about it. Yus, plenty cars on those longer trains. Good to see the new rail going out there! Even breaking out the old cabooses! You keep safe and all the best wishes Jaw Tooth. Cheers!
Thanks for your excellent videos. Travelling through your area in June on Hot Rod Power Tour 24 in our 66 Impala and, of course we are going to stop in LaGrange. You do good!!!
2:06 - That was an interesting load right behind the locomotive. Looked like a front porch on a flat car.
START THE VIDEO SON👍
Live action son
For a while I thought his son was the videographer or editor. 😁
That's a Lotta steel
That happened to me - teenage vandals broke my side mirror off and the shop had to completely replace it. Actually, I thought the price of a new one (including installation) for my 2004 Chevy Malibu was quite decent but it probably depends on the make and model of the vehicle.
Welded Rail Train is just amazing & the CSX long train w/only 2 engines, WOW!
Yes indeed!
$500 +.
Wishing you a full recovery from your surgery Brian.
Thanks!
Love your winter train shots...sorry to hear you are not 100% yet.....you might want to have that guy pay for your mirror repair as they are not cheap! Take care.
I do like a big GE working hard so thanks for that JT
You and me both!
😂that rumble sound is amazing,i feel it on mine floor, lol.mine base box is 3 KW logitech zz 5500.😊
Nice Video
As a small thoroughbred breeder we have always liked the Norfolk / Southern horse logo on their engines. Kind of makes us want to operate one of their loco`s thinking it was the largest horse we ever rode.😄
It is an "iron horse" afterall!
@@Cnw8701 Yep! That it is . We like all kinds of locos Diesel or Steam.
Sorry to hear about your truck it was probably someone in a hurry to get across the tracks before a train came along. but there was as always
some great train action especially with a caboose which you don't see
very often these days and all of the trains were awesome to see and
of course the awesome pets with Norfie and the Train Dogs looking
really great hanging around the house and the slide show recaps
Thanks Jaw Tooth.🇺🇲🤠🐶🐶🐶😼🇺🇲🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🇺🇲💨
That continuous welded rail car is very impressive!. If you make it as far North as Toledo, I bet they have a humongous rail yard right there on Lake Erie! A lot of live action going on.👍
That would be cool! I have been there before but it's been a long time ago. I did put up a Shorts video of Toledo recently
Awesome video as always! Glad I got to meet you in Walton today! I'm happy your feeling well enough to enjoy some trains, hope you make a full recovery soon!
That was nice talking to you! I hope you saw the long grain train that passed shortly after I left. I leap frogged around it at Erlanger. I heard it on the radio and saw part of it. They cut 2 pushers off of it and the pushers went back down the hill. My jaw started hurting so I got some Ibuprofen at home. I can't wait until I can talk normal again. I'll bump into you again there in Walton. Also, thanks for watching my videos!
@@JawTooth I was able to catch that grain train and another southbound behind it along with the CSX local at Locust Street! I hope the ibuprofen was able to get rid of that pain for you. Hope we run into each other again in the near future, I've been enjoying your videos since late 2017! Have a good rest of your night, hope your pain subsides soon!
@@kentuckyrailroads763 I did see that last train also. Right when I was leaving I saw its headlight coming. It had an SD70ACe leading and it had a DPU on the rear. That was the very last one that I saw
Love Jawtooth. Discovered it as I turned 60. Jim R Tallahassee
Thanks for watching my videos!
Great to see you out and about, Brian. We’re with you all the way. (But a little warmer).
The Caboose is worth the weight in gold. Cheers mate.
The rumble does come through my Sonos sub! Outstanding.. That rail train was cool!
Cool, thanks!
Sorry to hear about the surgery JT, and the wing mirror. Hope you feel better soon. If the plastic isn’t broken inside I’d be off to a scrapyard (junkyard in the US?) to get a new piece of glass or whole unit. They vary so much in price , I paid £30 (50 dollars) for a Ford and £100 for an Alpha
Brian is a classy guy 🍻
Cheers for taking the high road
So many others would have went ape shit saw a dollar signs🤑🤑 when their vehicle was hit
Some good comments those scroll through them there is a fairly easy fix on those Dodge pickups as far as the mirrors and there are some RUclips self-help videos that are actually really accurate on that particular mirror.
Hamilton part 2 equally great JT. Thanks once again 👍👍👍👍🇬🇧
great video bro ❤❤😍😍
Thank you so much 😀
I feel sad your accident . But today report is very happy it . Thank you very very much !
Thanks JT really appreciate your video's all the best from Scotland 😊

JT, Maybe you can buy a used remote control Mirror from a junk yard or E Bay for less money! Just a thought! By the way I hope you feel better soon, love ur train videos. Roger
Hey jaw tooth cool rail train. It's always fun guessing whats in each car. The crew have a consist sheet telling them what each car is hauling and where its headed to. Have a great railroad day 🙋♀️🚂
Thanks for the info and thanks for watching!
@@JawTooth welcome 🙋♀️
Super video! Love those long trains - just wish I could model a 'welded rail' train; that would be amazing in my book!
Your mirror repair will probably be at least $400 - it's outrageous.
So glad to see and hear you're recovering - praying your recovery is complete and quick!!
Thank you for all your efforts - your dedication is obvious and appreciated.
May God keep you and your family safe.
There is a video on YT showing someone who did exactly that in HO scale. Pretty sure the rails were plastic though.
