@@ChicknSandwich Oh so that's a futurama joke; do you know where I can find more info? I searched and couldn't find a quote/clip. (Don't mean to pester you about it, but I'm really curious.)
“It’s squishy, but the side that’s toasted is not squishy, so that there’s a difference in texture between the two” that’s why they pay Neil the big bucks
Neil seems like the kind of hang who would give you some really cool insightful stuff to think about but who would wear out his welcome extremely quickly 😆
Neil speaks about what is, was, and will be within the context of what is knowable and unknowable. He also touches on personal truth vs objective truth. He acknowledges of personal truths within the context of the individual and their drives. Being open to being wrong and learning new things would definitely be important if you were to have him as a guest. At some point learning new things becomes a fatiguing so perhaps that may be the point at which he might get the boot.😂
For as smart as the guy is always quick to say he is, you'd definitely think he would put things in his mouth the easier way 😂... I wonder if he eats cookies vertical too? 🤣
I genuinely enjoyed the moments where you could tell that Neil was like 'Oh hey I hadn't thought of that'. He gets that 'oh' or 'woah' or 'wow' or whatever and you can tell he's genuinely excited for the exchange of ideas. He has some bad habits, but the guy really likes learning. George was George, and much like a simple burger, that is *exactly* as it should be.
@@byzantineaura Neil tends to "Correct" things that really don't need correcting. Like the Smash vs Mash thing in this video. Occasionally he gets far too insistent about it, and it rubs people the wrong way. He's not wrong, but it's something where he doesn't need to be correct about it.
Hilarious! I remember studying uitls in my first college class, economics 101 and the look on George's face during that part of the conversation was priceless!
Loved this episode, one thing I love watching Neil is he actually listens and considers peoples thoughts/ questions even if he knows it is not possible. Neil will explain how / why it won't work but then will go on to think of it if said reason was not in the way. He is also good at bridging many ideas / topics into what he knows and taking knowledge and putting forth ideas from what he knows back to the original idea/ topic. He really encourages people into exploring beyond what they know while still keeping them grounded to the laws of nature, it also helps that he becomes interested in what the person is saying to him.
A mark of a great educator is explaining things to someone that they dont necessarily need because you know others are listening, and both the person you're talking to and those listening can learn at the same time
I had no idea I needed Neil Degrass Tyson and George Motz in one room. But I definitely did, so thank you both for making my morning just that much better.
Neil the kind of dude to receive an unprompted gift and critique it. Neil the kind of dude to insult you after you compliment him. Neil the kind of dude to tell a kid Santa ain't real.
I grew up making space burgers. It is something my family created in the 60's. It is basically: 4 parts beef, browned, crumbled, and drained. 1 part Velveeta mixed in. 1 part sharp cheddar mixed in. Pepper and garlic to taste. For authenticity, put your buns in the freezer beforehand so when you place the too-hot space burger on, it causes the cheese to cool faster so the molten sandwich doesn't fall into your lap. I gotta make this again for nostalgia's sake.
The folks at Packit Gourmet have already done this…their “all-American burger wrap” is some of the best backpacking food I’ve ever had. Four days into a 60 mile hike, it really gives you the impression of a burger. It’s uncanny how well they captured the essence of burgerness….
George...most of us have been OUT in the cosmos and needed a burger for that late night, munchies thing. Been watching you long enough to feel like that group WOULD include you.
This is by fare the best episode i seen, mostly because you have Neil deGrasse Tyson and George Motz together, which is two of my favorite when it comes to knowledge about either Burgers or Astrophysics, just awesome episode!
The way Neil acts: Neil is a good example of someone with acclaimed expertise in a narrow subject field who has become a legend in his own mind. DeGrasse is a celebrity first and a scientist last.
@georgemotz first off thank you for spreading the love of all burgers to everyone! I'm a burger chef and have a deep love for this amazing culinary creation. And thank you for having the man who taught me about the universe than any teacher throughout my education (and made it fun every time❤) next time you head upstate lmk and I'd be honored to have you in the restaurant you mutton chopped stud!!!!
For being such a brilliant guy, even Neil doesn't realize that for George, mutton chops are *always* in style; and a style I am routinely here for, at that! Much love, Dr. Tyson!!!
One thing to look up is the safety of that burger. Specifically people get sick from making bacon jam. Essentially the cooked bacon sits out at room temp and spoils in the jam. I'm not sure what microbes are responsible. I don't know if freeze drying would prevent these microbes from forming. Freezing for sure stops them. Either way, something to look up if you're interested.
I can't let go of the idea that Neil just wanted a normal good tasting burger, he just looked so disappointed every time a concession was made in the name of "space", man just wanted the burger.
*Like if you think George Motz is a national treasure*
God can we bring back Sagan? Neil is unbearably smug
Except now it's the mashburger and the mashula.
i'm a simple man. i see george motz, i updoot
Neil has various Metoo allegations against him. Jesus
all hail the burger lord
Fun Fact: Burgers are better in space because they're meteor!
Futurama is underrated.
Chuck, get off the account 😂
Haha 😂

Yeah he's... An arrogant snob with no self-awareness. How bout when he asked what the scraper is for?. Like what do you think Mr astrophysicist?!
It's a prophylactic barrier!
just barrier would work@@MrVovansim
Neil busting George's chops (both literally and figuratively) is pure comedy gold ❤
Like if you knew, deep within your soul, that George would burn himself
"Two things are infinite: the universe and George Motz ability to hurt himself"
Death, taxes, and George burning himself are the only guarantees in life.
It's kinda his thing.
George is the one person that I can count on to understand that a grill is hot but still not respect that a grill is hot.
Someone should've warned Neil that was going to happen lol
Watching George and Neil together is way better than i expected and i want more
Ok so it isn’t just me then. This was fantastic
great chemistry!
Fo sho
RIGHTT i never thought about how they‘d be a perfect combo
These two actually have such a good unintentional chemistry together! Great collab! 😂

This made me laugh way too hard at this late hour! Thanks. 🤣👍

George was NOT George, he didn't burn himself
These types of videos bring me such joy. Watching a burger master and a Astrophysicist eat burgers is not something I ever thought I'd see.
I love how this started out with Neil correcting George. On brand Neil, on brand.
God I cannot get enough of motz interacting with celebs, the ending had me actually laugh out loud.
"Grease is a condiment!!!!" Best quote EVER!
Two dudes who absolutely LOVE what they do. Cant wait to watch 🤓
Neil, that explanation about utils was just amazing. You all have to understand he can't help it and it is truly awesome.
These two across the country learning about burgers and science is a show. This was great
It’s about time this guy has more content on this channel. He’s pure gold.
Anything George says -
Neil : " Well actually .... "
The ending with Neil beaming away and it just shows Neil running off camera was funny. 🤣
You rock Mr Motz…. This episode is on your top 3 for sure. Billions and billions of thanks
We appreciate the content on this channel. Keep up the good work.
Just got it in the UK…The Great American Burger Book…a true work of genius and so well written and presented…cant wait to try’s every recipe…

Can we please pair these two actual genius's together for a regular show?

George glossing over as Neil explains utils of satisfaction is pure gold
Great episode!! I can see George doing another round of working to create better versions of items like MRE burgers or burger in a can.
George is a legend. NDT was not completely annoying in this
That little "the burger has its place" speech there at the end = Poetry.
Wow what a delight seeing the two of my favorite peeps together on RUclips and beyond! :p

Now this is the quintessential mashup of two amazing minds. Completely awesome, let’s get a series started.👍
I love his point about beginnings and endings, nowadays I often buy three smaller burgers instead of a meal.
Neil is so good in a lighthearted funny setting like the one Motz naturally creates. This combo was as good as the ingredients in the burgers!
10/10 episode. The energy between these two was awesome!
I quite enjoy how the youtube chefs are playing nice with one another. First we feast, Babish, Mythical, fun stuff.
11:11 "I do astrophysics. I don't need a compliment that I remembered the word 'heel' from 90 seconds ago" 😂😂
Does this mean Neil will be on Hot Ones Classics?
Two wonderfull Humans with a great chemistry together. 🍔🥰

The way Neil acts: Neil is a good example of someone with acclaimed expertise in a narrow subject field who has become a legend in his own mind. DeGrasse is a celebrity first and a scientist last.

Neil and Andy in the same episode?! Awesome! You know I'm picking up cheese powder now to try that out!

One of my Top 5 now!!!!
Peak RUclips; George Motz, Neil deGrasse Tyson, burgers and space 👌

We are in the burger
And the burger is within us
Him trying to specify what exactly platonic ideal was absolutely hilarious. Classic Neil deGrasse Tyson
More of these please
Todays a good day now that Motz is back
'Grease is a condiment' I choked on my tea.😂😂
