Jordan Addison *BREAKS OUT* on MNF 😈 Vikings *BEAT* 49ers!

- The FOUR HORSEMEN OF THE PURDY-OCALYPSE - Kirk Cousins, Jordan Addison, Cam Bynum, and... (checks notes) T.J. Hockenson? YUP. The Vikings shocked the 5-1 San Francisco 49ers last night on Monday Night Football to save the season, move to 3-4, and avoid a selloff ahead of the Halloween NFL trade deadline. Phew. Oh, and we finally won a game at home. The first since Greg Joseph kicked a 61-yard field goal to beat the Giants. Like, forever, right?
After the obligatory first-quarter Vikings turnover - in which 49ers cornerback Charvarius Ward pried the ball loose from the hands of Jordan Addison on the opening drive - Minnesota's offense, sans Justin Jefferson, picked apart one of the best defenses in the league, punting only once the entire game.
Cam Bynum thwarted that first Niners drive after the INT, knocking the ball loose from the hands of Christian McCaffrey and giving Dean Lowry the recovery. The Vikings then drove the field and finished off the drive with a 20-yard TD connection from Cousins to Addison, the rookie's fifth score of the season.
And, getting his revenge with 12 seconds left in the first half, Addison won his SECOND tug-of-war battle Ward and spun away for a 60-yard touchdown.
“I needed that one," Addison said. "I couldn’t let him get it twice.”
Addison, stepped up with Justin Jefferson sidelined by a bad hammy, and had seven catches for 123 yards in his breakout prime-time performance. The first-round draft pick from USC left the game briefly with leg cramps, scaring everyone to death for a minute. Brandon Powell came up big while Addison was briefly sidelined, extending the Vikings' final drive with four clutch receptions for 64 yards.
... but Greg Joseph, who also missed an earlier extra point, pulled a 50-yard field goal wide right, leaving the door open for Purdy and the 49ers. Purdy looked ready to break our hearts, completing two short throws to reach the Minnesota 40. But Bynum undercut Ray-Ray McCloud III for his second interception, ending the game.
“Obviously, our season isn’t going as well as we would like it to, but nothing’s better than bouncing back from adversity and stacking wins up,” Bynum said.
Cousins hit the 300-yard mark for the 50th time in his 12-year career. Only four others have done that by their 12th season: Drew Brees (67), Matt Ryan (64), Peyton Manning (56) and Kurt Warner (52).
Next up: The Dirty 'Sconnies at Lambeau. No letdown games, alright? GOOD.

Apologies for the inconsistent posts this season. Combination of things-mostly disappointing games by our favorite team, and the fact that my recording process is super unreliable (almost like the NFL doesn't want people recording games or something 🤔). AND: sorry for video quality on this one. Sunday Ticket streaming quality is better than ESPN for some reason, and as some have said, the frame rate and resolution aren't great. Thanks for bearing with me.
(Also, I had to leave out the 49ers second TD because I didn't have audio, but uh... screw 'em.)

This reminds me of watching NFL highlights back in 2007-2009, where they only used the radio announcers voices for both teams for the audio track. I hope to see more of these I always loved those.

The Vikes' defense continues to improve as they become more comfortable with Flores' system. Bynum played like an All-Pro. Turns out that the Vikes have two superstar wide receivers in Jefferson and Addison. Hockenson had a great game, with no drops this time. Risner needs to start over Cleveland from now-on. The offensive line had their best game of the year so far. Cousins was superb! Great win for the Vikings.
If I had a replay of my life I would want Paul Allen to narrate it.
I know right, I would love him to narrate me making a peanut butter and jelly sammich.

Everyone always says upset when we win. Lol. On paper we should be the best team in the nfl. This is when I felt Cousins changed from a “let’s go” to a “lets f’ing go” I have never seen Kirk as fired up as he was during the Green Bay game he got hurt. He was pumped and I think it was deeper than just doing good. The offense was looking elite prior to him being hurt and as a Vikings fan, disappointment has been a pretty regular feeling, am I the only Vikings fan living with permanent anxiety over our QB situation and what they are going to do?
If KOC doesn’t get the job done this seasons it’s game over for him and BRING IN BELICHEK
Awesome game but a REALLY random question...was Viktor in a different costume during each quarter? He was an octopus(?) in the first quarter, Bob Ross in the 2nd, buzz lightyear in the 3rd and I don't believe he was on TV at any point in the 4th...anyone see anything that was at the game?

Shanny has shielded Brock Purdy well with a top defense and strong run game, keeping him within his means.
Purdy can play with a lead, but cant be relied upon to bring a team back when trailing.

Our kicker is a problem . Cannot trust him in a game on the line situation. Need a money kicker. Makes the Vikings fan sick when he's a game decider.
Missed a PAT and a field goal Monday night. Can’t have that and expect to win.
Joseph has been automatic so far this season. Yes he struggled this game but those 50+ yarders he missed aren’t a gimmy by any means in the NFL. The offense should’ve done a better job at getting TDs and not FGs on the 1 or 2 yard line.
Hes 2 for 3 on 50+ yard FGs.
