No Hockinson, no Addison, No Jefferson, no Aaron Jones. Up by only 6. We need a final drive. Sammy Dimes Delivers against the best team in the NFC. High level playing. He's playing out of his mind. It's a good time to be a Vikings fan. We should get healthy in a couple weeks and have everyone back going. Hopefully. 🤞🤞
Yeah he literally had his 4th and 5th and 6th and 7th option on that drive. Nailor, Powell, Chandler, and Sherfield. Unless you consider Oliver or Mundt a legit option
It’s a good time to be a Vikings fan now and for the next many Years. I’m the most Pessimistic Vikings Fan Ever and I believe we’re building a Dynasty and will be in the Super Bowl by 2027
Dude, great analysis! This kinda video really helps show me how these plays are designed and how well Darnold is executing. I never played football growing up so it's fun to get an inside look at what's going through the mind of the QB as the plays develop!
Darnold is great. He does have a very good play fake but he should watch Favre's play fake film and improve even more. One of the main reasons Favre was so good was because his play fakes were so convincing. Favre would stretch the ball out with an exagerated handoff, put the ball in the runner's stomach, then pull it out and double over with the ball in his gut so nobody could see the ball for a little bit, then wait ... and pop up and pass. It's theatre. When you do hand the ball off, use the exact same motion. Meanwhile, other QB's (cough Daunte Culpepper) were play-faking a handoff with an empty hand while their throwing hand was just holding the ball in plain sight. Darnold has the tools to be as good or better than anybody. If he tweaks his play-fakes just a little bit, his receivers will be more open every time he throws the ball.
I've been waiting for Sam to get a decent team that doesn't allow 4 sacks per game, and WRs that don''t slip for too long. Finally, he get a really fair chance to prove himself.
Love the video and analysis. I can already see the little things that make Sam different than Kirk. On the TD throw to JJ, Sam has pressure behind him, in the back of the end zone. He steps forward, resets his feet, and throws the bomb to JJ. Kirk was incredibly accurate, but wasn't particularly proficient at navigating pressure and maneuvering a moving pocket while keeping his eyes downfield. It is different with Sam. Look at Mahomes, Herbert, or any of the great QB's today.....they all make slight adjustments to give them an extra second or two to throw. Another thing about Sam, is he has an internal clock. Meaning, after three seconds, he's going to run (if nobody open and daylight ahead of him) or he's going to throw it away. At times, it sure didn't seem like Kirk had that internal clock. These little things may not seem like much, but I think they make a big difference.
That last drive was so impressive. Drive the field to take a 2 possession lead, while eating up over 6 minutes. Did all that with the back ups against the nfc champs. No JJ, Addison or Hockenson. Let’s keep rollin Sammy SKOL
Thank you so much for the very thorough, & in-depth look at this game. It actually made me more of a believer & less cynical after watching. As a Vikings fan who resides in Tucson, it's pretty difficult to get this kind of content. Just really fuckin appreciate this man! Keep it up
Thank you so much for your analysis!!! First time watcher and it was fantastic!! The speed of the game live is insane so thank you for breaking it down and giving the facts!!
I mean, yeah he has had 2 INT, but his 2nd was picked by pretty much the best linebacker in the league (Warner) and that was a pretty crazy pick, I wasn't even mad, just enjoyed that moment as a pure NFL fan.
I had to agonize over the way Darnold was treated in Carolina. While I’m a Panthers fan, I know how they treated Darnold I’m sorry he was just another victim of Tepper incompetence. I AM SO HAPPY FOR SAM DARNOLD! I hope he kills it this year! Best of luck Sam, I pull for you and you look GREAT!
I really like what your doing, no one else is really doing football this way. It would be great if you talked about coverages, blocking schemes and like why the offense is running the route combos ased on the defensive looks. This was your giving a complete picture. Keep it up, I watch every one of your videos.
that throw at 9:51 is absolutely nuts. Also the blocking at 7:24 is amazing. #67 does a good job switching off his block and then flattening #56, while #64 deliberately lets his man cut up on the outside so Sam has room to step up and run down the middle.
I think the int against the 49ers was a little shaky on the decision making, but also an unbelievable play by the best linebacker on planet earth in Fred Warner. however the int in the giants game isn’t really darnolds fault as he got blasted as he threw that ball
looking at this u can see that darnold could be an elite quarterback he makes very fast reads and he gets the ball where it needs to be fast, he can run well i mean i dont see the bad darnold anywhere he looks completely remade. i mean he deserves to be qb1 for the vikings no doubt he keeps playing this way he may be mvp outstanding darnold glad he is really coming to play this year.
Even with freeze frames, it really does not look like he has Jefferson on that 97 yard TD. You mentioned just paying attention to the safety. Well it looks like the Safety chose to cover Jefferson, which should have meant Darnold threw to the underneath dig instead (which was more open.) This almost looks like a bad read by Darnold that was saved by an absolutely phenomenally perfect throw. If it was just slightly underthrown, it COULD have easily been an pick. Still an amazing play if you absolutely trust your arm to make it.
I'm impressed by how fast the ball comes out. Sam's windup is very quick. Additionally his pocket presence is very good. he feels the heat and can get out of the kitchen. I kept saying Kirk would have been sacked.
On the deep Jefferson reception, the safety bites on his first move which draws him to the right hash. Then Darnold throws the ball over the safety to the left hash, which Jefferson adjust on his second move behind the safety. Which all of the adjustments that safety is doing, it slows him down enough to give Jefferson that advantage.
There was a Jets fan that said they gave Sam Darnold a fair shot…. 13-34 in 3 years, sat behind Flacco, Siemien, McCown and more, had LeVeon Bell and no other notable RBs, best WRs was Braxton Berrios, Robby Chosen and Breshad Perriman. They had no offensive line and he got no time to throw and sacked. Carolina was very similar and San Fransisco had him sit behind Purdy and Lance. Vikings gave Sam a line weapons and time, now he’s shining.
Neither pick was terrible. The 1rst darnold was hit as he threw which made the throw wonky. The 2nd fred warner made an amazing play on the ball, there are very few LB who could've made that play.
How good was Ingram in these plays? Stonewalls Maliek Collins 1 on 1 on the Jefferson TD and 3 other plays. Hands him off to BO and then punches the stunting Floyd to the ground while Darnold scampers up the seam.
Not getting too high right now but a little voice in my head keeps whispering, “was he actually good enough to be the 3rd overall pick in the draft and just got stuck in bad situations? Did we strike gold?” 🤔 😂
You mean the 2 fumbles that was luckily recovered, the dropped redzone int, the lucky busted coverage 97y td that scews the medicore stats... Lulz. Honeymoon over

And still beat the 49ers smh
No D. HUNTER either

@@wesleyblanton2432 as a 49er fan before that just wait
That 97 yard throw literally landed right on the center of the logo crazy 😂

Good points!
Facts. Would love a side by side comparison Kirk vs Darnold

His arm was hit as he threw on his first interception.
Really like your break downs. Just watched back to back. Well done.

Your videos are great man. Just straight to the point with great explanations and analysis. Just tremendous stuff
Darnold threw that pass to Jettas over 50 yards… and it didn’t even look difficult.
Nice work young man. Great video.
Love it, love it, love it! Excellent video!

I am sorry that play, decision, is questionable but no other linebacker is making that play. . .
Great analysis coach! Good stuff!

Great analysis I love this freaking team man 😂
Can't wait to study this video! Thanks again!
When you do Brock had to int just look at it
Great job on this analysis, can u do a Vikings defense analysis against the 49ers please

Your videos thumbnail and caption are so misleading... they seem clickbait esq, but your analysis is so thorough and well done. Good stuff

Shhhhh don’t tell all of our secrets 😅
Carolina fan here… I’m happy for Sam and Baker. I knew it wasn’t them that was the problem.
Love this content, do you do O-Line analysis as well?
Put some respect on Speedy Nailor 😤😤
He is off to a good start, but I am not ready to nominate him for the HOF yet. Talk to me when Vikings get the Superbowl
It's nice to see a vikings team with an actual playbook.
Or arm hits Tip passes for int are hard to clean up lol
What app is used to write on the screen then play the clip? Curious as I would like to use this app in our youth league.
Would you add him in fantasy especially in super flex ?

so cute, vikes have been in QB pergatory for so long that sammy seems like a god to them.
Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield are playing some of the best ball in the NFL right now... who'd 'ave thunk it.
How good was Ingram in these plays? Stonewalls Maliek Collins 1 on 1 on the Jefferson TD and 3 other plays. Hands him off to BO and then punches the stunting Floyd to the ground while Darnold scampers up the seam.
League MVP soon
Not getting too high right now but a little voice in my head keeps whispering, “was he actually good enough to be the 3rd overall pick in the draft and just got stuck in bad situations? Did we strike gold?” 🤔 😂
He is doing it with half the weapons and even less at the end of the game.
Idk how we can let him walk and play essentially a hurt rookie next year
I said he would.
@2:48 97 yard TD to Jets 🏈🛩️
Yes. I remember that missile to Robby Anderson vs Detroit. Sam has 1 of the best arms in the league.
Well it dont help us, you telling enemy. Like wtf and i dont wanna hear no (they have that same film) bs either
One of many busted plays. At least he didn’t turn it over .
I can appreciate what you're doing but to say that nobody realizes what Sam Darnold is doing is completely inaccurate
You mean the 2 fumbles that was luckily recovered, the dropped redzone int, the lucky busted coverage 97y td that scews the medicore stats... Lulz. Honeymoon over
