My fillet was rare, and my wife’s non fillet (cannot remember which cut she had) was medium rare. Instead of admitting it they tried to tell us the fillet was not actually the fillet 😂
A difficult one. Sometimes even the best places get a bad piece of meat - it's a natural product and you can't always guarantee consistent quality. Or, it could be that they source lower quality (cheaper) beef and/or don't age it long enough or incorrectly. I have had decent steak in the Outback in Orlando but let's be honest, it's all about the bloomin' onion.
Lee, great video as always. You will be hard pressed in North America to get a restaurant to cook a fillet over medium rare. I have never been disappointed by Outback. You do get what you pay for though. If I was in Vegas I would go to Circus Circus as well, but I can still afford to, thank god. I think many people are intimidated by a fancy Steak House. Especially these days.
Been to that place and not as good as the Outbacks in florida, Bloomin onion is a must for starter. We found it really expensive also and was dissapointed.
Back in 2000 that Filet was $16.99. With inflation that's $30.00 today. It was a quality steak back then. There was an Outback in Manhattan on 23rd & Avenue of the America's. It's gone for obvious reasons. No need for Outback to even exist in Manhattan for obvious reasons. Restaurant prices here in Manhattan are out of control. Now I cook at home. However if you're visiting Las Vegas, you don't have a choice.

And any time I’ve ever had an issue with my order, I send it back and they provide a new meal. Lee didn’t speak up and advocate. That’s what the tip is for!!
As an avid Blue Moon (and wheat beer in general) fan, I have to ask what was wrong with your pint? (incidentally I do love the beer tankard style they have - I've built up a little collection of my own). I think you encountered the "American medium" - where well done and medium well doesn't exist 😂

I can’t see it getting any better any time soon unfortunately.
Outback here is right up there with an outhouse. I'm glad you didn't choke on the steak, like me. That was a small potato. The served a rotten one to my sister. If you've never had a burger on a three inch bun, you should try theirs. I'm glad you agree Outback is trash.

I have got some friends who went to New York earlier this year, they said how expensive everything was, they used to have their own pub in the UK and they noticed local people in New York were getting charged less for their drinks than the tourists.
We have been going to Florida for 27 years every May time and since Covid the prices of everything from food to holiday rentals,Car hire has rocketed and this year we decided that's it we won't be going back far too expensive now.
The Outback where I live is great. But the filet mignon at my outback is about $30, not $62. All of the other outback’s I’ve been to are also very good. Even the ones in New York City. I’ve even been to one in Turks and Caicos (now closed) and the food was always consistently good.

You want to know why prices are skyrocketing? It is 100% due to government taxes, regulations and exports to China and other markets. Your steak was not aged properly, should be at least 21 days but more is better.
Both, but the grading is an indicator.... and how much feedlot time the animal was given to put on fast weight. I believe they now use Anti-Ozempic in the feed ! USDA Prime, Grass Fed, Dry Aged +++++, if you can get it. Local farmers that raise small herds are the best, if you know one.
Well I thought the food looked good given the price. We spent a few days in central London last week and the prices in some of the restaurants were eye watering. You can easily spend several hundred pounds for two people without trying too hard. They all now charge 15% service as well but it is “optional”
Been to many outbacks over the past 25 plus years, always good but you have to have blooming onion, iconic dish and delicious, better than any onion rings. There used to be one right on the southside of Wandsworth Bridge we used to visit, always good but they didn't do the onion in the UK as we don't grow them big enough over here. Was such a shame when they pulled out of the UK.
I've been to Outback twice over the last year, one was apsolutely aweful, the other was well, it'll do I guess but never again. But then again, the Outback at Detroit Metro only charges $6.50 a pint, for airports that's a good price.

How can a family of four enjoy a meal out these days in America unless you are on a crazy huge salary
Sad
As an avid Blue Moon (and wheat beer in general) fan, I have to ask what was wrong with your pint?
(incidentally I do love the beer tankard style they have - I've built up a little collection of my own).
I think you encountered the "American medium" - where well done and medium well doesn't exist 😂
Expat living in Georgia..things have got silly expensive since Covid..food, gas, taxes (especially the crappy property tax)..hell even a mid week McDonald’s for a family of 4 is out of the question nowadays (at least that helps the waistline). I can’t see it getting any better any time soon unfortunately.
Next time you’re up the west coast of Scotland try the Old Inn, Appin, north of Oban for the best steaks you’ll ever taste.
Get to Panda Express for some orange chicken 😂😂 bloody luvley 😊
Want a good steak in Vegas. Go to Morton’s. Even Golden Corral.
Belated birthday wishes Lee.... All the way from Bramley Leeds
LEE! That Brown thing on your right looked liked a Dump!😝
That looks amazing, a bit expensive still though. Oh you said “tomato” like an American, you need to come home mate😂.
Oh Lee i could not of eaten that steak, another good video keep them coming.
Outback here is right up there with an outhouse. I'm glad you didn't choke on the steak, like me. That was a small potato. The served a rotten one to my sister. If you've never had a burger on a three inch bun, you should try theirs. I'm glad you agree Outback is trash.
The cigar company in Las Vegas is at 2510 sunset road would make an interesting blog watching them making the cigars. Just a thought. Really enjoying your blogs especially in Vegas
I have got some friends who went to New York earlier this year, they said how expensive everything was, they used to have their own pub in the UK and they noticed local people in New York were getting charged less for their drinks than the tourists.
You should have had the blooming onion
£80 for that nonsense , they saw you coming mate 🤣
We have been going to Florida for 27 years every May time and since Covid the prices of everything from food to holiday rentals,Car hire has rocketed and this year we decided that's it we won't be going back far too expensive now.
That steak still had a heart beat 😢 the beer 🍺 looked dodgy to.😅
The Outback where I live is great. But the filet mignon at my outback is about $30, not $62. All of the other outback’s I’ve been to are also very good. Even the ones in New York City. I’ve even been to one in Turks and Caicos (now closed) and the food was always consistently good.
I am amazed about the high prices in the states.. it’s gotten very expensive indeed. I was in Los Angeles 5 years ago.. that was the last time I was in the states..it was expensive that time.. but not so expensive as it is now.. awefull expensive
Love your new shirt Lee, there is always a limit to how much one can eat or consume. I reckon for me its about 3 Steaks worth and so US$60 for me. Go back to Gordon's please LOL
I would have named the steak rubbed its belly and taken it out for its walk . 😃
Good Evening Lee. I was looking forward to seeing this Establishment serve you a Gorgeous Cut of Meat cooked to Perfection to what you had asked Specifically. It was also the Servers fault for serving you a Beer in a Chipped Glass, that is Big No No. You could have Cut your Lip very Badly!!. I really Enjoyed seeing your Beautiful Starter, half a Ice-berg Lettuce with Tomato's, Onion's, etc. When it came to Your Steak, for me it was way to Pink and Yes it did look Under cooked. Your Baked Potato looked alright, some very Nice Al Dante' Broccoli for your Vegetable as a Side with your Steak. I would have called over the Server and asked them if I could have another very Well cooked to my Preference and my Satisfaction. This meal is Costing at the End nearly if not over $ 100 Dollars, it is my right and Yours Lee, to say and Complain you are not happy at all. That is the Trouble with us British Citizen's we do Not Complain and say that we are Not Satisfied with the Food and Drink. You are Paying Top Dollar at the End of the Day. But, at least Lee, Your Desert did look very Nice. Thank you very much Lee, for sharing your video.
Waiter sounded different class.
looked really good but a point deduction because of chipped glass.
Another point deduction due to no sauce with the steak.
8/10 final answer Chris
If you had a dollar for every time an American says "You're welcome" you'd be rich, I said it once to an English person and they thought I was being rude!! and yes I'm English. Hay Mac I'm glad you had a night off and chilled out with some one friendly, all good.
Good to see you enjoying some vegetables 👌
Low as you can go is Bonanza!
😂😂😂 Do they still exist?
Enjoying the Vegas journey
Hey Lee, I think I would have been done after the bread & the salad. I love steak but at those prices I could easily go vegetarian. 😮😢 A
You want to know why prices are skyrocketing? It is 100% due to government taxes, regulations and exports to China and other markets. Your steak was not aged properly, should be at least 21 days but more is better.
Lee, just saw ex world chess champion Garry Kasparov in Circus Circus, asked him to pass the salt and pepper, took him 26 minutes.
I’m not a steak eater so my question is what determines the quality of the steak. The cow or the cooking?🤷🏻 Or both?
Both, but the grading is an indicator.... and how much feedlot time the animal was given to put on fast weight. I believe they now use Anti-Ozempic in the feed ! USDA Prime, Grass Fed, Dry Aged +++++, if you can get it. Local farmers that raise small herds are the best, if you know one.
Outback in Michigan that steak with two sides $32.00
Well I thought the food looked good given the price. We spent a few days in central London last week and the prices in some of the restaurants were eye watering. You can easily spend several hundred pounds for two people without trying too hard. They all now charge 15% service as well but it is “optional”
Been to
many outbacks over the past 25 plus years, always good but you have to have blooming onion, iconic dish and delicious, better than any onion rings.
