- What’s up guys and welcome back to another FSP transmissions video. Today we tear down a core we got off of Facebook marketplace for $133. We picked this th350 up out of mid-state NC. In this video we go fully in depth and find some concerning issues along the way. I do already have a buyer for this transmission, and we are going to building a stage 3 thrasher for him to do burnouts. I've been a shade tree most of my life, but Transmissions and differentials have always been the scariest things to me, so this was my first auto trans full teardown I've ever had the pleasure of watching, and my takeaway is, I was right all along, my hands have no business inside that kind of machinery if it were to have any hope of being made operational again!
But I sure did enjoy watching someone who obviously knows his around such things, show me something new, and for that you've gained another sub!

Clearly, from the way this guy disassembles the transmission, we can infer 2 things..
He has done this more than a 100 times that it's basically muscle memory rather than analytical knowledge.

Yes, we specialize in GM and Cummins/Dodge automobiles/trucks. Private shop up in the mountains but real popular with the dodge guys.
And before I get many haters, my immediate family owns several of these Dodges with Cummins/auto in them and has single handedly kept local trans shops in business.

The 4 bolt rear housing is worth $133.
Every th350 is a risk. Lol. Last time we got conned into building one, it took 6 cores.
The pumps are notorious for going out and people want an arm and leg for cores these days!
@@FSPtransmissions that's why we don't touch em anymore. People think they should still cost $600-$800 to rebuild on the bench. If you have to buy one or more hard part, you're working for free at that point. When people would call and ask about a rebuild on one and I told them we no longer do them, they're like "why?", well because they haven't made one new since 1981, Reagan had just taken office. LOL

Hello, I have a question following a brief back story. I recently (May 28, 2024) bought a 2009 300C Heritage Edition with only 52,995 on the odometer. It was a 1 owner vehicle, and the CarFax showed the mileage increasing each year for inspections and the like, up until late December of 2023, when it was sold at auction to a dealership. It has the 5.7L Hemi paired to a DGJ 5-Speed Auto W5A580 Transmission. My question is, should I start a fluid replacement maintenance regimen, or just leave it be. I've heard the tales about leaving it alone and thought I would ask a more knowledgeable person to get an answer. Thank you in advance. Have a Blessed day. Dan
