You skipped Taller than You, it was a pre release on the same album of you're the best. By the way, you're the best was the song that really put them out there and gave them their first win (and many more wins)
@@KpopPrince I think you should, that song is one of the classics of mamamoo. It's not a title track but is as important as one, you will see 😂 there are so many inside jokes bc of that song
@@KpopPrince i get what you mean but there's nothing mind about 1cm Taller Than You. It charted really well it was nominated at end of year award shows Gaon Chart Awards in 2016. Hope you enjoy it !
Taller than you will blow your mind. They wrote the lyrics themselves. It's called "The pride of 1cm difference" in Korean and it refers to them being 1cm taller than each other (but they are all pretty smol). It's so funny and catchy as hell.
Live performances are always the best.. especially seeing them belting those notes & harmonizing live and questioning yourself if they're really singing live because they sound EXACTLY like the CD.It's a rollercoaster of emotions I say.
You're the Best was the song that introduced me to Mamamoo. My favorite kpop group is Girls' Generation and one of the members, Seohyun, covered this song in masked singer which made me want to look at the original artist. And that is how I started my journey with Mamamoo and their previous work before You're the Best.
You're the Best got Mamamoo their first-ever music show win 2 years after debut... it's such an emotional moment for the girls. They were all crying on stage and it's still one of the most memorable moments in their careers til now. You never forget your first.
Though You're the Best was their first song to score wins on music shows Um Oh Ah Yeah is the one they perform live much more frequently, often as an encore. UOAY seems to be the song that really brought them to the attention of kpop fans and paved the way for You're the Best to blow up on the music shows and kcharts. UOAY is a great live song. You want You're the Best live? Go directly to the performance at the 2016 MMA Award Show. It's iconic but I'm not going to tell you why. 😏🤣 I think the view count is low for these early vids on MMM's channel because a yt search only yields the versions on Stone Music, which have much more views. But MMM's relatively low view counts considering the quality of their music only demonstrates how underrated they are despite their success. You're doing great by using MMM's channel for the subtitles. It's crucial for the MVs prior to 2018 but I'd keep using MMM's channel to avoid the annoying 1theK ads plastered all over the end of every MV on their channel.
You’re the Best was the first song I ever heard from Mamamoo, and ever since their jazzier tracks have always been my favorite. Mr. Ambiguous, Piano Man, Decalcomanie and this one have similarities. I hope you don’t skip all their b-side mv’s from this year, such as Taller Than You, Memory, which is Christmas themed by the way, New York, Dab Dab and Angel, and Woo Hoo, which was a commercial promotion for phones but is still one of their best sounding songs vocally. Also, to answer your question, yes, their other mvs posted on Stone Music have more views, and I think it’s because a lot of people don’t know to check their original channel and just end up watching their earlier videos without subtitles.
@@EV-eo1fm I’m afraid not. All he’s watched so far is Dingga, Aya, Mr. Ambiguous, Piano Man, Ahh Oop, and these two here. He still has a lot to get through. Decalcomanie, Yes I Am, the four seasons stuff and Hip, and that’s not even including the b-sides like Paint Me and Star Wind Flower Sun and the commercial songs like Gleam, Wanna Be Myself and Woo Hoo. Either way, when he finally gets around to it, I’ll be very excited as well. I just wouldn’t expect to see it anytime soon.
oh, and the way "you're the best" opens, with the girls in the black outfits and doing that hand gesture, it'll make sense when you see the mv for "1 cm" or "taller than you", the b-side they promoted alongside this song. they were on the group's first full-length album, which actually wound up getting 4 mvs, the two mentioned already as well as "my hometown" and "recipe". the former song and mv is just about going back to their hometowns, the latter is literally a recipe for kimchi and tuna fried rice... the official mv for the latter is... weird, in that it actually mostly uses an extended version of the instrumental with bits of the lyrics played in the background during a 6 minute long cooking contest between moonsun and wheesa (that's solar + moonbyul and wheein + hwasa as the teams). sadly, the only version of that i've found with subtitles is on dailymotion and not youtube "ytb" definitely goes with a '70s disco feel, both the sound and the outfits. the mv itself was shot in vietnam and the man used in it is a member of their junior group, vromance. though i want to say he was still a trainee at this time, i honestly forget... they did two videos for this song, as well. one was a one-shot just following them through the building and segments of that got used in the version we're seeing here. (also, some of the behind the scenes includes our poor yeba, solar, falling into the pool) ha, and the blood type talk... only reason i know my own blood type is because i was in the army. but yeah, it's a big deal in korea. heck, the group b1a4 named themselves that because 4 of the members had type a blood and one had type b. they talked about that briefly on the episode of jyp's party people that they were on with mamamoo (who has 3 type b and 1 type a) the part where wheein is eating and points at her plate... that's where they start one of their adlibs in the actual song. they just thought it was funny to decide wheein was too busy eating so couldn't do her part there, as another version of said adlib. in a lot of their lifestages, that's where they took the 'ugly' pictures i mentioned in the earlier comment also, an interesting thing about the live performances of this one... many of the outfits they wore were actually designed by fans also, i don't think most moos will mind you going back to rewatch segments because you spotted something or realized you missed something... we tend to have to watch so much of their content at least 6 times when it's released, especially dance practices and performance videos... first time to try and watch everything going on, then once to focus on each member since they're all constantly doing just the most random stuff, and finally again to see the whole thing overall once more. many times it winds up being more than just six times because your eyes will be drawn to one member over and over again at a certain spot, even if that member isn't your bias of the day and you realize that, then have to go back and rewatch again, trying to not just follow her again a really funny thing is that gfriend did a cover of the "you're the best" video during a show the two groups did together, 'showtime'. mamamoo did a cover of gfriend's "rough". both were equally hilarious watching the two groups getting out of their comfort zone to do some of the things the other group is well-known for
Thanks for the wealth of info! I do try and rewind when I can, without it becoming overbearing. It drives me nuts when a reactor will miss a very specific moment I was waiting for, so I try not to be that guy haha
Trust me, Sweetie ... you will want to watch multiple live stages of both! Their choreo and adlibs are Iconic! and they change adlibs often, so it's something you don't want to miss! One more reason they are Unlike no other group out there! Also the reason these older videos don't have the numbers they should, is because it's before they had any recognition, and people now who are starting to like them, aren't going back to watch all of their old vids, and if they are, they are either watching them on other sites. They are truly missing out. Oh, while you are going through their MV list, make sure you don't miss their CFs, and OTSs, and minor MVs (like "1cm" (link below), which is before "You're the Best" :) (Group and Solo) Everything they do is beyond worth watching! MAMAMOO - 1CM의 자존심 - ruclips.net/video/I02F1lvhguw/видео.html Enjoy, and I look forward to your next Mamamoo reaction!
Notice the jump of style from Piano Man to this? From my previous comment in Piano Man, you see what they had to adjust to appeal to the masses yet retain what makes them Mamamoo. This era was their breakthrough. The rise of Mamamoo
Damn, I am EARLY, but I'm so here for it EDIT: At one point or another, I hope you see their live stage adlib compilation for "oh um ah yeh!" and "You're the Best." They're honestly just so good on stage. The fandom should really make a playlist of these small little things that are good for new moos to know about lol Just a note: You missed "Taller than You (1CM)" music video which was a pre-release for "You are the Best" which, just fun fact, was their 1st music show win! I don't wanna spoil too much about Taller than You, but just that it's pretty damn great. They've yet to make another one just like it or in the same vein. (For sure, their channel has the lyrics on the MV). Also, Taller than You will explain "that at the end" of the YTB video lol
Hey Prince! Just wanted to give you a list. I think you asked for one before but not sure if anyone complied. But here's a complete song list since debut WITH music videos. Ill label the title track ones, in case that's all you want to do, and put checks (✔️) on the ones you've seen so far. Also, added some songs I missed with a 😅 emoji 1. "Don't Be Happy" Mamamoo ft Bumkey (Pre-debut Intro) 2. "Mr Ambiguous" (title track) ✔️ 3. "Piano Man" (title track) ✔️ 4. "Um Oh Ah Yeh" (title track) ✔️ 4A. "Ahh Oop!" (bside)✔️ 5. "You're the Best" (title track. And their 1st Music Show win!) ✔️ 5A. "Taller than You" (bside) (warning: will be stuck in your head for dayssss. And pls pls pls, use the Mamamoo offical channel one for the subs. It's imperative!) 6. "Decalcomanie" (title track) 6A. "Memory" (christmas bside) 6B. "New York" (bside) 6C. "Woo Hoo" (cf bside) (for an LG commercial. BUT you'll find their cf songs might as well be comebacks lbh *coughgleamcough*) 7. "Yes, I Am" (title track) 7A. "Aze Age" (bside) (ummm there's no english subs but we wouldn't understand it anyways unless you watch an explanation video lmfao, there's a great explanation video on it at the channel "Talk To Me In Korean," if you're curious. Let's just say, it's a dang lot of puns and idioms and ummm dad jokes lol) 8. "Starry Night" (title track) (1st of the 4Season Project. This one is "Hwasa's" album) 8A. "Paint Me" (bside) (a toast to moonbyul's first official singing in a video! woot woot) 8B. "Star Wind Flower Sun" (bside) 8C. "Be Calm" (Hwasa bside solo) (something she wrote after her uncle who she was close to passed away) 9. "Easy" (WHEEIN SOLO DEBUT. ft Sik-k) 10. "Egotistic" (title track) (2nd of the 4Season Project. This one is "Moobyul's" album) 10A. "Sky Sky" (cf bside) (ummmm a commercial bside for a game, Icarus M. lol I'll let you be the judge of this one) 10B. "Selfish" (Moonbyul bside solo ft Seulgi) 10C. "Worthless/Love and Hate" (Moonbyul bside. Actually the video is in korean so search for "[Special] 문별 - 구차해 Performance") 😅 11. "Windflower" (title track) (3rd of the 4Season Project. This one is "Solar's" album) 11A. "Hello" (Solar bside solo) (no offical mv, but she did make a video on her channel with this and a really cool af pole dancing routine!) 12. "Twit" (HWASA SOLO DEBUT) 13. "Gogobebe" (title track) (4th of the 4Season Project. This one is "Wheein's" album) 13A. "25" (Wheein bside solo) 14. "Gleam" (cf single) (commercial for eyewear company Davich. this one dropped without warning, and everyone thought it was a comeback lol) 15. "Goodbye" (WHEEIN 2ND SOLO) 16. "HIP" (title track) 17. "Eclipse" (MOONBYUL SOLO DEBUT) 17A. "Absence" (bside. performance video) 😅 17B. "Iljido" (bside. performance video) 😅 18. "Spit It Out" (SOLAR SOLO DEBUT) 18A. "A Song From the Past" (Solar solo ft Kassy. Not part of the debit single. A pre-release ??? She released this right before her solo to "test the waters" I think. All I know is, she was nervous because she was the last of mmm to do a solo. I'd recommend this video because its the only one that wasnt a vertical video like the others. ruclips.net/video/d5QFudGzbDU/видео.html) 😅 19. "Maria" (HWASA 2ND SOLO) 1A. "LMM" (bside) 😅 20. "Wanna Be Myself" (cf single) (commercial for athletic wear Andar) 21. "AYA" (title track) ✔️ 21A. "DingGa" (pre-release) ✔️ HONOURABLE MENTIONS (without mv's but for real, you wont regret getting to them lol): 1. "Sleep in the Car" (bside where they complain about being too busy lmfao. Stage perf with lyrics: ruclips.net/video/1M0lzUigono/видео.html) 2. "No More Drama" (bside with no mv but a nicely shot live on Pikicast. ruclips.net/video/Iwg0qUuoCbA/видео.html) 3. "Peppermint Chocolate" (pre-debut single. Actually has an mv but I'd have to renumber the whole list so it stays here haha) 4. "Angel" (Angel line aka Solar/Wheein bside) 5. "Dab Dab" (Rapper line aka Moonbyul/Hwasa bside) (DabDab and Angel are actually only concert videos but their first official subunit tracks. Pretty sure they only did these because they all had a bet on who could chart better lol) 6. "I Love Too" (THE MOST *SACRED* BSIDE IN ALL OF RADISHDOM. Also only a concert video, BUT I suggest watching this AFTER you get more into them, with subs of course :) seriously) EDIT: I feel like I missed some stuff, and ofc you don't have to follow this list but hopefully this'll help you in the future? :)
Omg this era is also the era of ADLIBS. They switch up their stage performances which makes so much fun to see "what are they going to do next" in every stage! There are UM OH AH YEH adlib compilations also for You're The Best. Srslyyy i cant stress enough how fun the stages wereeeee
If you watch the making of the Um Oh Ah Yeh MV, Wheein had so many prosthetics applied to make her seem male that she couldn't move her mouth. Um Oh Ah Yeh 42M views and You're The Best 41m views. Stone Music Entertainment channel has the most views. You're The Best was their first big hit.
Mamamoo and their song Titles Um Oh Ah Yeh HeeHeeHaHeHo WooHoo (this is a must watch!!!) Their live stages for Um Oh Ah Yeh and You're the are a must watch. Fans love this everytime they perform because of the different adlibs they do each stage
I love both of these songs, but surprisingly Um Oh Ah Yeh is actually my favourite of the two! The song like a happy pill for me, it's impossible to feel sad while listening to it 😊 From this point on, Mamamoo really start branching out and exploring a bunch of different sounds in their title tracks, so I'm excited to see how you feel about their newer songs
The problem is when it is searched their official channel isn't the first one they see. It is always their sub or co-channel that is why they have lesser views. OH Um Ah Yeah, it's a fun fun song and video. Moonbyul found her sibling in another group! Exo's Xiumin and BTOB Minhyuk. ahahaha in this era, Solar and Moonbyul dating scandal was revealed. AHAHAHA yes Hwasa enjoyed it for a while, Wheein is not so, because of the protestics. You're the Best, the start of their collection of trophies. ahaha their adlibs during live performances is soooo fun. ahahaha Fun fact, Solar fell in the pool. The guy in the video is their company sibling, a boy vocal group called Vromance.
I think you also skipped "Taller Than You" and "My Hometown." And in terms of which song is more "Mamamoo," the sound of You're The Best is definitely more them and it's with this song that they got their first ever win but surprisingly, the girls themselves have not stopped performing Um Oh Ah Yeh to this day. They seem to always to perform this song in their encore concert stages. The adlibs they do for UOAY are also also *chef's kiss*.
you’re right, their early songs had less views/likes bc they came from a small company and started out small and branched out throughout the years and became popular through their vocals, stage performances, etc.
Quick question, after this fact.. Mamamoo has a few advertisment MV's/singles. Woohoo (for LG Samsung) Gleam (for Dovich Optical Sunglasses) Wanna Be Myself (for sportswear) The question is, will you react to those aswell? seeing as they technically are apart of their Discography... kinda. Also, note, this isn't rockbottom, but it's all uphill from here ION EVEN KNOW HOW. they keep exceeding their own progress hahaha!!
@@KpopPrince just so you know, even their cf songs are quite good. people mistook "gleam" as a title track when it was released last year... and it's an ad for glasses! "woohoo" is also in the top 5 songs for many fans, both because of the intro harmonies and moonbyul's rap
I don’t know if anyone’s said this yet, but you should react to mamamoo’s four seasons project. If you haven’t heard of it, it consists of four albums that all came out in 2018/early 2019. Each member was assigned a colour and a season so Hwasa’s was the first, Yellow Flower, that came out in March 2018. Second was Moonbyul’s, Red Moon, that came out in July 2018. Third was Solar’s, BLUE;S, that came out in November 2019. Fourth was Wheein’s, White Wind, that came out in March 2019. They each have a title track music video and some live performances for other songs on the albums. Each album was a group effort with a solo track for whoever the season belongs to. The title tracks in order are: Starry Night, Egotisstic, Wind Flower, gogobebe, and they’re all really really great. I hope you like them!
Fun fact: even though Wheein was constantly eating in Um Oh Ah Yeah, she said that the foods doesn't taste good because of her silicone jawline she had to wear 🙃
because of that twist at the end, "um oh ah yeh" has a really weird place, being used both by anti-lgbt and pro-lgbt groups... the former say it shows mamamoo is anti-lgbt and views it wrong that a girl realized she had fallen for another girl, while the latter say the fact that it goes right into the chorus (about having fallen for the person) again says solar's character is embracing the realization. i tend to side with the latter, just knowing how much these women appreciate their rainbow moo fans (the lgbtq+ portion of the fandom has named themselves that and wear pins for it, pins that mamamoo has also worn, alongside displaying pride flags and other, more subtle and personal support) you'll here mamamoo played at every pride festival in south korea and this song is always in the list, just because it's been so embraced by the community
I love Um Oh Ah Yeh but not because it's my type of song (a little overproduced sounding to me) but because of the live adlibs. There's a compilation of their oh um ah yeah stages somewhere and it's hilarious
After rewatching the MV and watching so many reactions on um oh yes, I’ve just learned that Hwasa almost said holy sh!t. I swear whenever Hwasa speaks English it will always become iconic xD
Fun fact: Theyre the rare gg that are not afraid to do male drag. Their alter egos have names; Yul (byul) Cucco (spell? Wheein) Ricky (hwasa) whose looks she based on john travolta grease character because she thought hes hot 😆
In areas of Asia generally, blood type is considered another indication of your personality, kinda like your zodiac sign. I always remember reading blood types in character profiles for video games (like Street Fighter and the like) and wondering why they were even a thing, but... that's why.
While the lyrics don't change, towards the end of the video you can tell the women are getting tired of doing all this stuff for the guy. Most obvious in Moonbyul's expression pushing the scooter. So while there is a moment of angst when they see the new group of girls fawning on the cute guy, they realize that they are happy to be moving on and celebrate. At least that's my interpretation.
Please react "Whee In(MAMAMOO) - Forget Me Now, 휘인(마마무) - ‘날 그만 잊어요’ @Duet Song Festival" Wheein vocal is really amazing!!!!! After seeing this video, you will know why the CEO of RBW said that Wheein is the backbone of Mamamoo.
Both of song are so fun to watch (the live stages especially) but I think you're the best is my fav between these two.. actually there is one mv before you're the best, it is 1cm taller than you, it'd be great if you check it out too :)) anyway love your reaction
oh, these two are pretty popular among the fandom and in kpop in general, despite (and also because of) being so different from their earlier songs. i see kudgeon already talked a bit about that, though. "uoay" got them attention because it was so much more poppy and what general kpop fans were looking for and because of that, people were even more interested in checking out "you're the best" when it dropped, which led to "ytb" gaining them not just their first win but 8 in total... and the girls had some crazy encore stages because of that... they cried, immensely, the first time they won because they never expected it. and had tears in their eyes in the wins after that, one show they even left the stage and climbed into the audience to sing with them (even going so far as to cheer on the fans of other artists that were there and ending with thanking the cameraman for his work following them off the beaten path) i'm surprised kudgeon didn't talk about the theory that the girls were doing a 'what if women did the outlandish 'boys will be boys' behavior' as a kind of subtle and even humorous way to bring up the double standards also, poor wheein eating in every scene in "uoay"... it took hours to get the prosthetics on both her and hwasa and wheein said she had to eat while wearing them too, so everything tasted just like the plastic used. for once in her life, she took no joy in eating, yet they also had her eat something in every scene she showed up in in the mv there are some great stages for "ohay", too, on top of some compilations showing off their adlib changes for every performance. both of these songs were in their prime time for such varying adlibs, some vocal, some visual... like, they had a whole series of slow-mo fights onstage, or did 'ugly' pictures where three members would make ugly faces so the last one (different in each performance) looked prettier when she did a regular pose. on top of the lines changed to suit the venues, audiences, or times of the actual performances one of the iconic performances is show champion episode 154, where they did a part swap... moonbyul took some of solar's lines and solar and wheein split byul's rap. the intro adlibs for this one included byul just saying 'i'm nervous' while doing a sign showing her heart was beating really fast. and the ending adlibs included 'rapper solar! oh yes! vocalist moonbyul! oh yes! rapper wheein! hwasa, you do both?' another iconic one is inkigayo 20150621, which had byul and hwasa change into their 'male' characters partway through (hwasa's character was the only male of the two, though). the characters all even had names. moonbyul transformed into yul, hwasa's sleazy guy was known as ricky and wheein's dorky character was kuku (which is also the name of a brand of rice cooker... that combined with people saying moonbyul's head shape reminded them of a grain of rice led to a nickname for the two together, 'chwisa line' or 'cooking line' because grain of rice + rice cooker = cooking) they also released a video of themselves performing the song acapella, with the help of a beatboxer. there's behind the scenes for this on mmmtv that are just crazy because of a birthday prank pulled on hwasa and then at the amn 2015 (asia music network, open hall live), they performed acapella again, live, while using the acapella video as the backtrack
You should definitely react to 1cm taller! That song is literally just about them bickering bcs of their height 😂 but izza bop 👌. Also you should see the live stages of you're the best and um oh ah yeh!!
What is crazy is that I went to Um Oh Ah Yeh's video and there is a big fight in the comments a month ago. This is the time when blackpink's mv had to be edited cause of Jennie's nurses outfit. Fake blinks complaining, blinks defending, moomoos dragged in for a video 5 years ago. Oh kpop fandoms.

oh, and the way "you're the best" opens, with the girls in the black outfits and doing that hand gesture, it'll make sense when you see the mv for "1 cm" or "taller than you", the b-side they promoted alongside this song. they were on the group's first full-length album, which actually wound up getting 4 mvs, the two mentioned already as well as "my hometown" and "recipe". the former song and mv is just about going back to their hometowns, the latter is literally a recipe for kimchi and tuna fried rice... the official mv for the latter is... weird, in that it actually mostly uses an extended version of the instrumental with bits of the lyrics played in the background during a 6 minute long cooking contest between moonsun and wheesa (that's solar + moonbyul and wheein + hwasa as the teams). sadly, the only version of that i've found with subtitles is on dailymotion and not youtube
"ytb" definitely goes with a '70s disco feel, both the sound and the outfits. the mv itself was shot in vietnam and the man used in it is a member of their junior group, vromance. though i want to say he was still a trainee at this time, i honestly forget...
they did two videos for this song, as well. one was a one-shot just following them through the building and segments of that got used in the version we're seeing here. (also, some of the behind the scenes includes our poor yeba, solar, falling into the pool)
ha, and the blood type talk... only reason i know my own blood type is because i was in the army. but yeah, it's a big deal in korea. heck, the group b1a4 named themselves that because 4 of the members had type a blood and one had type b. they talked about that briefly on the episode of jyp's party people that they were on with mamamoo (who has 3 type b and 1 type a)
the part where wheein is eating and points at her plate... that's where they start one of their adlibs in the actual song. they just thought it was funny to decide wheein was too busy eating so couldn't do her part there, as another version of said adlib. in a lot of their lifestages, that's where they took the 'ugly' pictures i mentioned in the earlier comment
also, an interesting thing about the live performances of this one... many of the outfits they wore were actually designed by fans
also, i don't think most moos will mind you going back to rewatch segments because you spotted something or realized you missed something... we tend to have to watch so much of their content at least 6 times when it's released, especially dance practices and performance videos... first time to try and watch everything going on, then once to focus on each member since they're all constantly doing just the most random stuff, and finally again to see the whole thing overall once more. many times it winds up being more than just six times because your eyes will be drawn to one member over and over again at a certain spot, even if that member isn't your bias of the day and you realize that, then have to go back and rewatch again, trying to not just follow her again
a really funny thing is that gfriend did a cover of the "you're the best" video during a show the two groups did together, 'showtime'. mamamoo did a cover of gfriend's "rough". both were equally hilarious watching the two groups getting out of their comfort zone to do some of the things the other group is well-known for
Thanks for the wealth of info! I do try and rewind when I can, without it becoming overbearing. It drives me nuts when a reactor will miss a very specific moment I was waiting for, so I try not to be that guy haha
IMO a very few kpop groups have a good quality bass sound, Mamamoo is one of them. Headphone is a must.
You're the best gives Mamamoo their first win in a music show. Uhm oh ah yeah hype the You're the best well. Thank you for good reaction :))))))
MAMAMOO - 1CM의 자존심 - ruclips.net/video/I02F1lvhguw/видео.html
Enjoy, and I look forward to your next Mamamoo reaction!
Notice the jump of style from Piano Man to this? From my previous comment in Piano Man, you see what they had to adjust to appeal to the masses yet retain what makes them Mamamoo.
This era was their breakthrough. The rise of Mamamoo
Damn, I am EARLY, but I'm so here for it
EDIT:
At one point or another, I hope you see their live stage adlib compilation for "oh um ah yeh!" and "You're the Best." They're honestly just so good on stage. The fandom should really make a playlist of these small little things that are good for new moos to know about lol
Just a note: You missed "Taller than You (1CM)" music video which was a pre-release for "You are the Best" which, just fun fact, was their 1st music show win! I don't wanna spoil too much about Taller than You, but just that it's pretty damn great. They've yet to make another one just like it or in the same vein. (For sure, their channel has the lyrics on the MV). Also, Taller than You will explain "that at the end" of the YTB video lol
agree!! these compilations of ad-libs are so fucking funny
Hey Prince! Just wanted to give you a list. I think you asked for one before but not sure if anyone complied. But here's a complete song list since debut WITH music videos. Ill label the title track ones, in case that's all you want to do, and put checks (✔️) on the ones you've seen so far.
Also, added some songs I missed with a 😅 emoji
1. "Don't Be Happy" Mamamoo ft Bumkey (Pre-debut Intro)
2. "Mr Ambiguous" (title track) ✔️
3. "Piano Man" (title track) ✔️
4. "Um Oh Ah Yeh" (title track) ✔️
4A. "Ahh Oop!" (bside)✔️
5. "You're the Best" (title track. And their 1st Music Show win!) ✔️
5A. "Taller than You" (bside)
(warning: will be stuck in your head for dayssss. And pls pls pls, use the Mamamoo offical channel one for the subs. It's imperative!)
6. "Decalcomanie" (title track)
6A. "Memory" (christmas bside)
6B. "New York" (bside)
6C. "Woo Hoo" (cf bside)
(for an LG commercial. BUT you'll find their cf songs might as well be comebacks lbh *coughgleamcough*)
7. "Yes, I Am" (title track)
7A. "Aze Age" (bside)
(ummm there's no english subs but we wouldn't understand it anyways unless you watch an explanation video lmfao, there's a great explanation video on it at the channel "Talk To Me In Korean," if you're curious. Let's just say, it's a dang lot of puns and idioms and ummm dad jokes lol)
8. "Starry Night" (title track) (1st of the 4Season Project. This one is "Hwasa's" album)
8A. "Paint Me" (bside)
(a toast to moonbyul's first official singing in a video! woot woot)
8B. "Star Wind Flower Sun" (bside)
8C. "Be Calm" (Hwasa bside solo)
(something she wrote after her uncle who she was close to passed away)
9. "Easy" (WHEEIN SOLO DEBUT. ft Sik-k)
10. "Egotistic" (title track) (2nd of the 4Season Project. This one is "Moobyul's" album)
10A. "Sky Sky" (cf bside)
(ummmm a commercial bside for a game, Icarus M. lol I'll let you be the judge of this one)
10B. "Selfish" (Moonbyul bside solo ft Seulgi)
10C. "Worthless/Love and Hate" (Moonbyul bside. Actually the video is in korean so search for "[Special] 문별 - 구차해 Performance") 😅
11. "Windflower" (title track) (3rd of the 4Season Project. This one is "Solar's" album)
11A. "Hello" (Solar bside solo)
(no offical mv, but she did make a video on her channel with this and a really cool af pole dancing routine!)
12. "Twit" (HWASA SOLO DEBUT)
13. "Gogobebe" (title track) (4th of the 4Season Project. This one is "Wheein's" album)
13A. "25" (Wheein bside solo)
14. "Gleam" (cf single)
(commercial for eyewear company Davich. this one dropped without warning, and everyone thought it was a comeback lol)
15. "Goodbye" (WHEEIN 2ND SOLO)
16. "HIP" (title track)
17. "Eclipse" (MOONBYUL SOLO DEBUT)
17A. "Absence" (bside. performance video) 😅
17B. "Iljido" (bside. performance video) 😅
18. "Spit It Out" (SOLAR SOLO DEBUT)
18A. "A Song From the Past" (Solar solo ft Kassy. Not part of the debit single. A pre-release ??? She released this right before her solo to "test the waters" I think. All I know is, she was nervous because she was the last of mmm to do a solo. I'd recommend this video because its the only one that wasnt a vertical video like the others. ruclips.net/video/d5QFudGzbDU/видео.html) 😅
19. "Maria" (HWASA 2ND SOLO)
1A. "LMM" (bside) 😅
20. "Wanna Be Myself" (cf single)
(commercial for athletic wear Andar)
21. "AYA" (title track) ✔️
21A. "DingGa" (pre-release) ✔️
HONOURABLE MENTIONS
(without mv's but for real, you wont regret getting to them lol):
1. "Sleep in the Car" (bside where they complain about being too busy lmfao. Stage perf with lyrics: ruclips.net/video/1M0lzUigono/видео.html)
2. "No More Drama" (bside with no mv but a nicely shot live on Pikicast. ruclips.net/video/Iwg0qUuoCbA/видео.html)
3. "Peppermint Chocolate" (pre-debut single. Actually has an mv but I'd have to renumber the whole list so it stays here haha)
4. "Angel" (Angel line aka Solar/Wheein bside)
5. "Dab Dab" (Rapper line aka Moonbyul/Hwasa bside)
(DabDab and Angel are actually only concert videos but their first official subunit tracks. Pretty sure they only did these because they all had a bet on who could chart better lol)
6. "I Love Too"
(THE MOST *SACRED* BSIDE IN ALL OF RADISHDOM. Also only a concert video, BUT I suggest watching this AFTER you get more into them, with subs of course :) seriously)
EDIT: I feel like I missed some stuff, and ofc you don't have to follow this list but hopefully this'll help you in the future? :)
Super helpful! I'll have to make a reference doc out of this. Thank you
Mamamoo moment I think about a lot they include the adlib compilation in there
I think moonbyul 'absence' performance video worth to place on the list too
You're the best is one of my favorite songs, so good
The live performance for those songs are so awesome. The adlibs and the pose everything hahaha.
Yas More Mamamoo !!!!!
Um Oh Ah Yeh 42M views
and You're The Best 41m views. Stone Music Entertainment channel has the most views. You're The Best was their first big hit.
Mamamoo and their song Titles
Um Oh Ah Yeh
HeeHeeHaHeHo
WooHoo (this is a must watch!!!)
Their live stages for Um Oh Ah Yeh and You're the are a must watch.
You are the best got them their first win and was really big in korea.
Um oh ah yeah is great live they still perform it and are the most fun stage
More mamamoo
the "ha, dur, set oye" in the end >.< i'm wheezing-
Oh god I love this reaction! It’s literally my top favorite Mamamoo songs in one video🥰🥰
yeah moonbyul is so pretty in You are the best and so cool in Um Oh Ah Yeah
Woohoo (for LG Samsung)
Gleam (for Dovich Optical Sunglasses)
Wanna Be Myself (for sportswear)
The question is, will you react to those aswell? seeing as they technically are apart of their Discography... kinda.
Also, note, this isn't rockbottom, but it's all uphill from here ION EVEN KNOW HOW. they keep exceeding their own progress hahaha!!
I will go back to some other more minor MVs that I missed that have been mentioned, but marketing MVs might be best after I'm done with title tracks 😊
@@KpopPrince just so you know, even their cf songs are quite good. people mistook "gleam" as a title track when it was released last year... and it's an ad for glasses!
"woohoo" is also in the top 5 songs for many fans, both because of the intro harmonies and moonbyul's rap
i like your reactions, and i like it that there is more MAMAMOO reactions in your channel, like yayyysss
I love every pieces of their songs. And their mvs❤❤❤✨
Fun fact: even though Wheein was constantly eating in Um Oh Ah Yeah, she said that the foods doesn't taste good because of her silicone jawline she had to wear 🙃
because of that twist at the end, "um oh ah yeh" has a really weird place, being used both by anti-lgbt and pro-lgbt groups... the former say it shows mamamoo is anti-lgbt and views it wrong that a girl realized she had fallen for another girl, while the latter say the fact that it goes right into the chorus (about having fallen for the person) again says solar's character is embracing the realization. i tend to side with the latter, just knowing how much these women appreciate their rainbow moo fans (the lgbtq+ portion of the fandom has named themselves that and wear pins for it, pins that mamamoo has also worn, alongside displaying pride flags and other, more subtle and personal support)
you'll here mamamoo played at every pride festival in south korea and this song is always in the list, just because it's been so embraced by the community
I did think it would rub some people the wrong way when I got to the end
I love Um Oh Ah Yeh but not because it's my type of song (a little overproduced sounding to me) but because of the live adlibs. There's a compilation of their oh um ah yeah stages somewhere and it's hilarious
plz do react to their boygroup medleys! i love how they give those songs their own color
After rewatching the MV and watching so many reactions on um oh yes, I’ve just learned that Hwasa almost said holy sh!t. I swear whenever Hwasa speaks English it will always become iconic xD
Ah this is also peak of fun Mamamoo! Man i miss being young during this time too hahahahha
Fun fact:
Theyre the rare gg that are not afraid to do male drag. Their alter egos have names; Yul (byul) Cucco (spell? Wheein) Ricky (hwasa) whose looks she based on john travolta grease character because she thought hes hot 😆
I love these mvs
In areas of Asia generally, blood type is considered another indication of your personality, kinda like your zodiac sign. I always remember reading blood types in character profiles for video games (like Street Fighter and the like) and wondering why they were even a thing, but... that's why.
Wheein just being there and eating is just peak of comedy
Great reaction, really like it
While the lyrics don't change, towards the end of the video you can tell the women are getting tired of doing all this stuff for the guy. Most obvious in Moonbyul's expression pushing the scooter. So while there is a moment of angst when they see the new group of girls fawning on the cute guy, they realize that they are happy to be moving on and celebrate.
At least that's my interpretation.
that's my view point as well
Please react "Whee In(MAMAMOO) - Forget Me Now, 휘인(마마무) - ‘날 그만 잊어요’ @Duet Song Festival"
Wheein vocal is really amazing!!!!! After seeing this video, you will know why the CEO of RBW said that Wheein is the backbone of Mamamoo.
AHHHHHHHH I patreoned at the first of the month and I can't wait for queendom what the fuck!!!
Both of song are so fun to watch (the live stages especially) but I think you're the best is my fav between these two.. actually there is one mv before you're the best, it is 1cm taller than you, it'd be great if you check it out too :)) anyway love your reaction
I sub'd cuz of mamamoo...any and all RBW artist content...
Those both songs has a lot of funny adlibs, there's compilation of the adlibs, you can check it out
Really like all your commentary here
oh, these two are pretty popular among the fandom and in kpop in general, despite (and also because of) being so different from their earlier songs. i see kudgeon already talked a bit about that, though. "uoay" got them attention because it was so much more poppy and what general kpop fans were looking for and because of that, people were even more interested in checking out "you're the best" when it dropped, which led to "ytb" gaining them not just their first win but 8 in total... and the girls had some crazy encore stages because of that... they cried, immensely, the first time they won because they never expected it. and had tears in their eyes in the wins after that, one show they even left the stage and climbed into the audience to sing with them (even going so far as to cheer on the fans of other artists that were there and ending with thanking the cameraman for his work following them off the beaten path)
i'm surprised kudgeon didn't talk about the theory that the girls were doing a 'what if women did the outlandish 'boys will be boys' behavior' as a kind of subtle and even humorous way to bring up the double standards
also, poor wheein eating in every scene in "uoay"... it took hours to get the prosthetics on both her and hwasa and wheein said she had to eat while wearing them too, so everything tasted just like the plastic used. for once in her life, she took no joy in eating, yet they also had her eat something in every scene she showed up in in the mv
there are some great stages for "ohay", too, on top of some compilations showing off their adlib changes for every performance. both of these songs were in their prime time for such varying adlibs, some vocal, some visual... like, they had a whole series of slow-mo fights onstage, or did 'ugly' pictures where three members would make ugly faces so the last one (different in each performance) looked prettier when she did a regular pose. on top of the lines changed to suit the venues, audiences, or times of the actual performances
one of the iconic performances is show champion episode 154, where they did a part swap... moonbyul took some of solar's lines and solar and wheein split byul's rap. the intro adlibs for this one included byul just saying 'i'm nervous' while doing a sign showing her heart was beating really fast. and the ending adlibs included 'rapper solar! oh yes! vocalist moonbyul! oh yes! rapper wheein! hwasa, you do both?'
another iconic one is inkigayo 20150621, which had byul and hwasa change into their 'male' characters partway through (hwasa's character was the only male of the two, though). the characters all even had names. moonbyul transformed into yul, hwasa's sleazy guy was known as ricky and wheein's dorky character was kuku (which is also the name of a brand of rice cooker... that combined with people saying moonbyul's head shape reminded them of a grain of rice led to a nickname for the two together, 'chwisa line' or 'cooking line' because grain of rice + rice cooker = cooking)
they also released a video of themselves performing the song acapella, with the help of a beatboxer. there's behind the scenes for this on mmmtv that are just crazy because of a birthday prank pulled on hwasa
and then at the amn 2015 (asia music network, open hall live), they performed acapella again, live, while using the acapella video as the backtrack
More mamamoo please 🥺🥺
Their title track name always sounds interesting
You should definitely react to 1cm taller! That song is literally just about them bickering bcs of their height 😂 but izza bop 👌. Also you should see the live stages of you're the best and um oh ah yeh!!
Personally I like Decalmoníe & Yes I Am the most idk why uh no I think Decalmoníe was the best song ever and they performed it on Queendom too.
You skipped "1 cm taller than you" its their pre-release song before You're the best. You will definitely a different side of Mamamoo on that song
Yeah UOAY melody is so poppy, but the instrumental ❤️
What is crazy is that I went to Um Oh Ah Yeh's video and there is a big fight in the comments a month ago. This is the time when blackpink's mv had to be edited cause of Jennie's nurses outfit. Fake blinks complaining, blinks defending, moomoos dragged in for a video 5 years ago. Oh kpop fandoms.
if you think the Um oh ahh yeh vid is chaos you should see the behind the scenes of the mv from mmmtv
You like the song wait to see a performance this song are so funn it's the real reason they became famous i think?
But honestly.... Moonbyul really looks like a beautiful guy....btw you're the best has 40M views
You should react to their live performances💓
