      I didn't get it, then I realised most places don't give the option for a corn tortilla. Rice and beans together make a complex protein, definitely never go without that.

    Not all carbs are created equal. The beans are higher in fiber so the body responds to them differently.

      @@MELISSAMAYER-h3k Fiber makes a difference I usually get the brown rice and extra veggies to add additional fiber to the meal. Lime juice and salsa has Vitamin C that also helps with the blood sugar spike.

      Fiber? Do you need it? Do you digest it? Fiber is great for moving the worthless food you’re eating through your GI. Don’t eat carbs and you don’t need fiber.

    Fast 14 hours a day and you can eat whatever you want. You’ll stay looking younger and feeling better. All that processed food kills your immune system when you’re eating every 2-4 hours. I’ve been fasting for decades and rarely visit the doctors office. Fasting has way too many benefits 💯💯💯💯💯💯

      Nope. As someone who does 16-8 or 18-6, you can fast and gain weight. Trust me bro 😂. It's been done.
      But I would definitely recommend intermittent fasting, it's very easy because it works with all different diets. I know people who did IT without telling their family (didn't want to expose kids to it for fear of creating food problems), they skip breakfast and have two meals with them. Getting past the 10-12hrs no food mark is hard but once you pass it, Intermittent fasting is very unobtrusive.

      No no no no, I fast about 18-20 hrs I do not have this mindset, you can’t eat whatever you want. There are some meals that are the portion of a burger that are 2000 cal taste like heaven on a plate. 14 hrs? you can’t eat anything, yes you have more fuck ups from day to day, but eating anything that mind set is setting up failure.

      ​@@vladano youre the one thats wrong. You intermittent fast the "commercial" way. You eat like shit during your "meal hours" and then you fast. The intermittent fasting ive been doing on and off since 2011 is eating one meal a day. There is no "eating window" just one meal and youre done for the day. Its impossible to have a belly from that. So ofcourse actual fasting(only drinking water) will have an even greater effect.

The type of carb is irrelevant in the Chipotle example you can have the tortilla, the rice or the beans. He's saying just pick one which again is controlling the quantity of the carbs.

      This is actually not true. There are lots of people who have continuous glucose monitors who can literally see in real time what different foods do to their bodies. There would be a major difference between eating a burger vs eating fries. Sugar spikes are wildly different. Whether or not that matters to weightloss…. Well ozempic is also a diabetes drug and it’s now being used as a miracle weightloss drug. So… 🤷🏻‍♀️

      @@shelikessports3704 quite the contrary. People who live to be 80 to over 100 years of age and simultaneously smoke have one major thing in common, which is that they have excellent diets. This isn’t to justify smoking, however these diets can actually negate the effects of smoke inhalation ass seen through this causative sequence. Now, you may say that correlation doesn’t equal causation. It doesn’t. However looking at this logically. Someone who smokes but does every other thing right is surely going to outlive someone who has a bad diet and does a lot of things wrong. Furthermore, we need to understand what slightly overweight means, as it can mean a variety of things. If you’re talking a beer belly or skinny fat, that, by my definition, is overweight, and can certainly be worse than smoking a certain amount of cigarettes per day, especially in the later years of life when more weight has been gained through years of bad eating habits.
      Also, yes, I eat McDonald’s daily. That’s my choice. I’m doing two things wrong. But the fasting and exercise that I do negate many of the harmful effects of the smoke in which I inhale on the daily. I am 22. I feel great. I will continue to feel great because I know more about the body than most people and most doctors. I will not continue eating McDonald’s on a daily basis forever. Again, I am 22. I am working. I am busy. McDonald’s is convenience. My stomach is small. It helps me get my (bare minimum) calories in so that I don’t rot into a corpse.

    That’s some good advice. I think for weight loss, a keto or keto-ish eating habit is the way to go. Some good meats, cheeses and veggies, won’t miss.
    A beef soup (caldo de rez) with some yam and cabbage in it always hits for me so I have tons of it. Or some ground turkey with onions, tomatoes, bell pepper and a can of kidney beans does it, too. There’s a lot of good food you can prepare that make the absence of sugars, and carbs not really make too much of a difference. Zero breads or processed sugars will get you on the healthy side, fast.

    I absolutely love fries, and I live a no carb lifestyle. Im slowly cutting the white potatoes out as i truly enjoy sweet potato fries. Chik fil la fries are my weakness, i order that with the spicy chicken sandwich with a lettuce bun!

      I started getting a chicken sandwich with tea or ice water and applesauce or greens. No soda. No French fries. Will you lose 15 lbs in 2 weeks? No but you will lose 15lbs in 2 months eating like this without exercising.

    A bit of chemistry. Beans are legumes combined with structure of rice they make a complete protein--and a protein that's absorbed in a fashion that can effectively manage blood sugar. So, just drop the tortilla or drop the chicken. Just fyi.

    Oh I did that today at chipotle, two weeks ago I got the new brisket and doubled it with the shredded beef and did all of the rice, beans and tortilla. It was so good, I only do it once a week though

    That’s what I do! I eat a bowl at chipotle and get beans no rice. Beans are carbs! I load up on veggies! Double protein. And that’s my all day meal!

    Some people put all those carbs in a carb with so little meat and so much avocado or guacamole or whatever it's so dumb. Carb meat veggies or carb meat and fruit after that. Some even put pasta in bread and add meat and whatever and they eat all that. That's insane!
