I can’t figure out how to set up messages on iPhone/garmin. Is there a way to respond to texts ?

I got my garmin a couple days after you but I just learned that there is a setting for walk/run detection! Go to your settings>activity tracking>auto activity start>turn on. For walks it defaults to 10 minutes, but you can change it to 5 minutes and after the 5 minutes of it sensing the walk it should automatically start tracking

Hey does the Garmin Venu 3s sage gray comes with build-in GPS? I saw on Garmin's Amazon store description for the sage gray colorway. It is the only Venu that says GPS Via Smartphone instead of build-in gps.

I honestly didn’t love the Garmin, but I think I’m just so impatient that I hated the acclimation period 😂 I did not like the feature of strength training with it trying to count my reps and such, but I’m pretty sure there’s a way to turn that off. The sleep was super inaccurate, too. One super minor thing that also annoyed me was how I couldn’t see what time it is while I’m working out. I had to check my phone or exit out of the workout. Sometimes I’m on a time crunch, so I would want to see what time it was, but I couldn’t do that on the Garmin. I ended up returning it & stuck with my Apple Watch. I would agree with your Oura ring review tho - I use that strictly for my sleep and cycle since going off birth control, and I love it so much! I just use it for such different aspects compared to my smart watch. Love all the fitness trackers available these days! I wish I liked the Garmin more because I love the sleek classy look of it too lol

Does it connect to Apple Fitness the way the Apple Watch does?

You can connect it to Apple health and have an old Apple Watch as a bridge to Apple fitness

Have you tried sleeping with the Apple Watch and how is it compared to garmin? I have AW but think of switching to garmin. But i mostly want the watch to track my sleep and stress and thought the bodybattery on garmin would do that. But if the sleep data is not accurate on garmin im not sure 🤔 I actually have an older oura ring but I can’t charge it anymore and have tried to contact oura several times but they just don’t get back to me 😣 their customer service sucks. Really wanted to use my oura ring, I think it’s great, but I’m not paying for a new charger not even knowing if that is the problem.

The Oura Ring rocks - dump your big bulky, heavy, distracting, Smart Watch and get a cool - sleek - minimal Oura Ring. I love mine so much.

Ive been extremely interested in this model of Garmin so this was great! Im a current FitBit user and I love it but its lacking in some features and some features that it has dont work as well as I would like. My hubs has a Garmin and loves it. Been thinking about making the jump to Garmin but hard to justify with the price (Canadian here!) and because my FitBit still works at this time.
Thank you for the detailed review!

How how HOW do you text from it? I can’t figure it out?

  • @bnelson52
    @bnelson52 6 месяцев назад +2

Only a little way in on the video. I have only tried Apple watch and have been curious about others. Mine started dying too and I read online to restart it totally. I did that and it got a little better, but still not the same as the first year. You know you can do voice text too on Apple Watch by clicking the little microphone on the bottom right of the text window. I can’t use that tiny text tool either. This so probably a dumb reason but I haven’t gotten the Garmin because I’d rather have a square watch than a round one lol. But thanks for reviewing it, you do have me intrigued.

@@bnelson52 yep I used that a lot too! I just didn’t mention that since they both have that feature and more often I used that touch pad because I was doing a contact nap with one of the girls lol and needed to be quiet!

Thanks for sharing, this helped me finally decide to make the switch to the garmin!! I do have the Oura ring as well and curious if you can sync your sleep data from the Oura to your Garmin? I just can’t sleep with the watch on so would be so nice if I could still use my Oura ring to track sleep but then have the garmin use it for the other data, like your “body battery”! Is that a thing or do you think they have to just stay separate?

Do you use the strength training option when you lift weights? Are you able to just see your heart rate instead of having to enter reps/weights?

Does the Garmin have any comparable to the Apple watch's "goals" like movement ring, monthly challenges, etc.? And does it give trends like the Apple watch does?

Thank you so much for this! I’ve had it in my Amazon cart for a few weeks waiting on your review. What about your notifications on Garmin? Do you have to receive all notifications? Email and different apps? I heard a while back that seemed to be people’s frustration. I leave my text notifications on at night for emergencies but I don’t want email notifications and such.

For every sport = Garmin all the way. For smart features = Apple watch for Apple phone, samsung galaxy watch for samsung phone. I have both. Samsung watch 6 44mm and a Garmin forunner 965. I use them for over a year.

My sister in law and I also tested the accuracy of the Garmin vs Apple Watch. We went in a track so distance and mileage was already accurately laid out for us. Long story short is Apple Watch was almost to the step accurate to the distance on the track and the Garmin was wildly inaccurate. We even double tested it by swapping devices - she wore the Apple Watch and I wore the Garmin - and same thing. Apple Watch is more accurate, much to her dismay. For the longest time I told her Apple Watch was better and she argued Garmin was better. Accuracy is most important to me, so I’m sticking with Apple Watch. I agree battery life is not as good - I have to charge it daily - but I’m fine with that. Apple Watch for me!
