Wow Jimmy! You never saw 'Deadwood'? This is one of my all time favorite series, too bad they ended it abruptly, after season 3, still a nice ending tho...
'Al Swearengen' (Ian McShane) is the best character of this series, if not so, of all time in tv history! Watch the British gangster movie 'Sexy Beast' with Ray Winstone, Ian McShane and an incredible Ben Kingsley in one of the best performances of all time!
5:45 "I hate his guts, but I love him. It's a weird situation" I'm a huge Deadwood fan, this is accurate. Also, why nobody reacting to DW? Brilliant show by the same production company as GoT and it's getting slept on. Damn shame
Just discovered your channel and like what I see so far. Deadwood is f'n awesome and I plan to binge-watch your reactions to it. Love to see other people get hooked on it the way I did back in the day.
Yes. There's just one thing I'd like to add to the series: I wish they'd shown the sexy Swearengen taking a massive "sh*t" (paraphrasing him in this first episode). I don't suppose many male viewers would agree with me....
I can't believe someone is finally reacting to this masterpiece! I've seen it all the way through three times, and it gets better every time. One of the best shows ever made, and my personal favorite. Can't fucking wait to see you reacting as the series - and the characters - progress.
"The list is only 12 feet long." Haha! That was great. When Deadwood came out, it was pretty out there comparatively speaking. The profanity alone was far more than people were used to even in an HBO show but it fits. Great show. I loved it and I hope to enjoy watching it again through your eyes. You're familiar with Wild Bill Hickock from history? He was an actual somewhat famous figure.
I actually started watching this last week and I'm on 2×2 as of today. Fucking Wild Bill Hickock was one of the baddest gunslingers of the Old West. Al is a guy you love to hate. Timothy Olyphant (Justified) is great as the protagonist. And there are alot of actors you'll see who were small times when this came out but they're stars now
Besides Wild Bill Hickock, thirty or so other characters are based on real people. Deadwood is a real place whose history is some of the most quintessentially "Wild Western". Especially interesting is Al Swearengen.
David Milch highlighted that scene in a book on Deadwood as the older generation recognizing the you get generation's skill, and the younger generation paying respect back.
I've been waiting for this for so long. Thank God it's finally here. "This guy is fantastic. I hate his guts but I love him" I see a place for Al in your list of top favorite characters of all time. Question: did you already react to the movie following the series?
great show, Ian McShane as Swearengen is pure brilliance! love this show, the actors, the writing, just one of the best shows ever! The show is fairly accurate to history, so if you look up names you will see what happened in history.
Hell yeah. You're gonna love this shit, dude. The characters grow and change in very realistic and believable ways and there's just nothing else like it. It's also the most quotable thing you will ever watch.Whatever you thought this show would be like, it's better. Way, way better. Looking forward to tracking your progress through.
@Tschu Backa Ha, that's funny. Well, sounds like I was right, anyway! I guess I'm off to go watch that then. Works out for me. I don't have anything to do tonight. I'll just watch him watch this.
One of my All Time Top 10 TV Shows. 1. Game Of Thrones 2. Sopranos 3. Hell on Wheels 4. Deadwood 5. True Detective Season 1 5.5. The Shield / Spartacus 6. Sons Of Anarchy/ Breaking Bad 7. Black Sails 8. The Wire/Mindhunter 9. Boardwalk Empire 10. Peaky/Carnivale/ Justified. toss up
Just binge watched it last week. I love the way the actors speak its like everyone there speaks these eloquent words but with a lot of cussing. Nobody seems to have any problems finding the words they need on that show except the Reverend "I apologize" that Jane found after he had smallpox and was thrown into the woods to die.
How lucky you get to see this story in its entirety. It was canceled 2006 after Season 3 but in 2018 they put out a movie to finish the story, so you don't have to wait to finish!
Holy shit, I can’t believe someone is reacting to Deadwood. I’ve spilled a lot of ink about this show. It’s nice to see a reaction from someone I didn’t nag or coerce into watching it.
So stoked you’re watching this!!! I’m almost done with my second watch through and it’s continually blowing me away. Dialogue is incredible. So funny and so many well fleshed out characters.
Glad to see you doing Deadwood, hopefully, Justified is not too far away. Not sure I would be able to do an OZ if you haven't seen it. I had to stop watching it at one point in the later seasons.
THE BOYS - 2x7 is on the way.
Wow Jimmy! You never saw 'Deadwood'? This is one of my all time favorite series, too bad they ended it abruptly, after season 3, still a nice ending tho...
and when are you finally gonna watch Warrior? The kung-fu period drama based on Bruce Lee's writings with great fights?
My all time favorite show. Some of the greatest characters and dialogue ever created.
It's one of my favourites, too; and the best show I've discovered during the lockdown.
Son! You never watched Deadwood? You in for a real treat, this is golden age HBO
You're going to love this show. Buckle up, lol.
he has already finished the entire show on patreon months ago, in case you're interest in watching. 🙂
'Al Swearengen' (Ian McShane) is the best character of this series, if not so, of all time in tv history! Watch the British gangster movie 'Sexy Beast' with Ray Winstone, Ian McShane and an incredible Ben Kingsley in one of the best performances of all time!
gotta agree Kingsley was a revalation
Just wait brother, in my opinion one of the best written shows ever on television.
5:45 "I hate his guts, but I love him. It's a weird situation" I'm a huge Deadwood fan, this is accurate. Also, why nobody reacting to DW? Brilliant show by the same production company as GoT and it's getting slept on. Damn shame
This here is an all-time top 10 show. Arguably top 5.
This show has the greatest ensemble of talent and fantastic dialogue . you will love Swearengen and the doctor.
Hands down my favourite show of all time.
This show is absolutely amazing, hope you enjoy it!
YESSSSS! You just made my day with this shit. May we all enjoy Al Swearengen in all his glory.
Just discovered your channel and like what I see so far. Deadwood is f'n awesome and I plan to binge-watch your reactions to it. Love to see other people get hooked on it the way I did back in the day.
Al has some of the greatest monologues of all time on this series
Yes. There's just one thing I'd like to add to the series: I wish they'd shown the sexy Swearengen taking a massive "sh*t" (paraphrasing him in this first episode).
I don't suppose many male viewers would agree with me....
@Cfc7ninja 12 Would you like to make any additions/changes to the show?
@Cfc7ninja 12 Fair enough!
You will love this show Jimmy. I watched it at least 5 times.
I’m here so fast
I can't believe someone is finally reacting to this masterpiece!
I've seen it all the way through three times, and it gets better every time. One of the best shows ever made, and my personal favorite.
Can't fucking wait to see you reacting as the series - and the characters - progress.
I'm late to the party, but helllllll yes. Always wanted to see somebody do Deadwood.
Dude, you're watching one of my favorite shows! I'm in!

This show is full of "actual somewhat famous figures".
@@endless013 You're right, of course. The same thought occurred to me after I posted but I was too lazy to correct my statement. Haha.
@@pamelahofman1785 lol
Me a student of history, when Jimmy said Wild Bill was his favorite: Oh no. He’s going to be disappointed.

Got a like before it started. Timmy O is just like in justified just centuries earlier. Epic!!!
You won't regret starting this show. It's fan-freaking-tastic! Better than GoT by far, and so many interesting characters coming up.
Besides Wild Bill Hickock, thirty or so other characters are based on real people. Deadwood is a real place whose history is some of the most quintessentially "Wild Western". Especially interesting is Al Swearengen.
This show is great. It does the same thing boardwalk empire does mixing real characters with fictional ones.
07:04 Bill is firing before Bullock has even fully drawn. He still asks: “Was that you or me, Montana?”
David Milch highlighted that scene in a book on Deadwood as the older generation recognizing the you get generation's skill, and the younger generation paying respect back.
Sok, his great great great grandsome Raylan Givens makes up for it. :)
Can't wait for justified
True detective season 1 and now this? Bro you are seriously climbing my reactor mvp list!
Not a huge western fan but this show is fantastic.
I've been waiting for this for so long. Thank God it's finally here.
"This guy is fantastic. I hate his guts but I love him" I see a place for Al in your list of top favorite characters of all time.
Question: did you already react to the movie following the series?
I did...but it got deleted off if vimeo and I don't have the hardcopy 😕
@@JimmyMacram Damn. That's very unfortunate. Well, I'll just enjoy the reactions you do have available.
Aw yiss, motherfucking deadwood

Enjoy this show! SAVOUR IT! Great reaction btw!
The first episode features my favourite Deadwood animals: the wolves.
YES!! one of mu favorite reactors and one of my favorite shows
Ian McShane is one of those lucky bastards that gets paid act when really he's just being himself in every role.
Oh I love this show:) I will be joining you for this, hii Jimmy Happy Holidays
