"Say goodbye to my wife...and I'll say hello to yours." Unexpectedly touching moment in this absolutely brutal film.
The sound made by those... throat whistles is utterly horrifying, and a stroke of genius by the filmmakers.
Look up Aztec death-whistles! It's basically exactly where they got the idea from
Fr such a cool horror concept
When people who see this movie talk about “that scene” I know exactly what they’re talking about. I don’t always have a problem with gore but that scene is tough to watch
I'm watching it again on tubi and just watched that scene. This time I felt like I could puke!
Its vey hard to watch but , you gotta remember its a movie.
why is it hard to watch?
@@BerryFunChannel1 the actor does a very good job , and the more i saw the scene the less i felt disgusted.
@@juliocesarencarnacion2314 a good job at what though?
The violence is so sudden. Watching the first time caught me off guard. I didn’t expect the savages to attack so quickly and efficiently and dismantle the group like that. I think Bruder gets shot in the hand by Chicory in all the chaos.
"That scene" messed me up so bad....later that night after watching it, I had a nightmare that one of those savages was about to chop me in half. Literally woke up with my hands raised trying to block the chop coming down. Still love the movie though.
i had to stop watching for the first time EVER in a movie crazy man
Hahahahahaha
Yup, it’s easily the most horrific movie death I’ve ever seen.
What are you laughing at dumbass ?
Where else can you find a line as lovely as "Say goodbye to my wife, and I'll say hello to yours" in a film as brutal as this?
What's crazy is people say "the scene" isn't realistic..
Maybe not now but you go back a few hundred hears and it was worse.
Torture used to be literally place a board on top on you and a few dozen rocks and you would just get slowly crushed, this was mild tbh.
That was the most brutal scene that I have ever seen in a long time
Back in 2010 or 2011 someone posted the script for this movie on a message board ...after reading it I knew (if it ever got made) it would be a controversial movie.
When it did get made and I saw who was cast, I was thinking they were going to soften it up too much and it wouldn't be anything like the script.
Trust me, they didn't remove anything, at least none of the gore.
This movie should only grow in stature as the years go by, and even the gore may be considered tame by our standards in 2034.
People probably already mentioned it, but I'll say it again, watch also S. Craig Zahler's ''Brawl in Cell Block 99'' (with Vince Vaughn, Don Johnson and Udo Kier) and ''Dragged Across Concrete'' (with Vince Vaughn, Mel Gibson, Jennifer Carpenter, Michael Jai White, Laurie Holden, Don Johnson, Thomas Kretschmann and Udo Kier), both are also extremely violent and brutal.
They are great as well.
Dragged Across Concrete I like better of the two. All of his movies are underrated. This dude is killing it with his films
This one was hard to watch. The “wishbone “ scene has to be top 5 craziest kills all time. The sound. The visuals…
Such a GREAT movie!! People need to look past the 5min of , albeit absolutely horrific violence, and recognize Bone Tomahawk as the fantastic movie it really is!!
The gore isnt gratuitous or anything but it's given Bone Tomahawk a reputation as torture-porn, shock-value, shlock!
It's just excellent "show don't tell" storytelling, great acting, great characters, terrific practical effects! It's the whole shebang for me? I'm a sucker for Westerns and add in some massive, hulking, scary-ass villains, and it's a top 3 all time favorite for me!
It is but it's not for the faint of heart
I agree with you on the gratuitous gore and the unfortunate reputation.
The actors/actresses, all of them nailed their roles perfectly and it was directed skillfully/beautifully.
If they hadn't gotten the cast that they did, say a bunch of B-listers instead, it would never had made it to the theaters...straight to streaming/video.
Even with that amazing cast, it still only got a partial release and didn't run very long.
It's definitely a top 3 western for me, and a top 25 all-time.
That scene may have been only “just a movie” but remember they used to do that type of stuff back in medieval times.
Brawl In Cell Block 99 is a brutal movie
Loved this movie. I watched it for the first time last year and was hoping more people would find out about it. The directing and acting are phenominal.
brawl in cell block 99 is a must-watch followup to this. dragged across concrete...well...it exists.
This, brawl in cell block 99 and dragged across concrete are all great on their own, but I think brawl is the best of the three. I look forward to your reactions.
Brawl in cell block 99 is fantastic, Vince Vaughn was amazing in that shit.
There needs to be more Western horror films. Especially smart ones like this.
They did this to Biden didn’t they ?
Glad to see more people react to this movie. You’ll never forget it
Fox retired after this film, stating that being in a western completed his bucket list. He returns to TV later this year on Peacock in a show called Last Light. I would also recommend a film he stars in called Alex Cross.
r.i.p Sid Haig
I was so happy when you recognized Matthew Fox! :D
Same. Very underrated actor.
The old man Buddy, Arquette's partner, is played by,the, late great Sid Haig, a terrific character actor who, in,his, long and happy career, played white beatniks, black pimps and drug dealers, and white mechanics, for Motorxycle Gangs like the Hell's Angels in various biker movies. He was able to play any person of any, race because he was part Turkish and part Arab. If you wonder WHY he'd get cast so,much as non-white non-Europeans, it is,a credit to his acting and professionalism. He even played Chinese warlords!
Directors would look at what was needed for a,part and think "who do i know who, can.come in,on a.day's notice and embody a part and dven.give it a little something extra?" Someone would suggest Sid Haig and the director would say 'that's it!"
Very unique movie. Very brutal. Loved it personally. Kind of feels like an Egger's film at times.
The “They don’t make movies like this anymore” crowd probably slept on this masterpiece. “Say goodbye to my wife... I’ll say hello to yours.” Give whoever wrote that all of the awards
David A has been in a couple actually. This movie took me there.
Yes, it's brutal
damn you need to watch "smokin aces" if you havent watched anything but LOST with matthew fox. not even for him but its a great(ish) movie, also starring ryan reynolds, liotta, pine, piven, affleck and a few more in case that helps
How have I not discovered your channel sooner? You're awesome haha
Now do Brawl on Cell Block 99 - same director, same slow burn, same outrageous violence, and Vince Vaughan’s greatest performance.
In a deleted scene that lasts maybe four minutes (so why delete it?) the Sheriff tells Chickory the backup deputy that Arthur O'Dwyer, the Patrick Wilson character, wojld make a,good Sheriff if anything happened to him.
I saw a clip on RUclips of the movie and had to check it out
You should watch brawl in cell block 99, it was the director/writer follow up to this movie. Is awesome and Vince Vaughn is fantastic in it
Really disturbing scene.
I refuse to watch that scene. My eyes were covered. Otherwise, it was a great movie.
I regret watching that scene without looking away
Watched this with my grandma while we smoked a J. Loved the movie and the gore 🔥🤘
Interesting movie selection. Well done
Very disturbing scene
Awesome reaction.
Richard Jenkins is amazing in this film. Completely steals the show.
Jack is also in speed racer. Does really good in that movie to
Rad movie
Genial
Yep, Matthew Fox.
I saw people talking about "that scene" and I thought no way is it that....I was SO wrong! That was fucked up and probably the worse death I've ever seen in a movie. That's gonna be stained in my brain for a while
I landed here looking for a reaction to the bisection scene but tbh I'm glad you kinda glossed over it
New subscriber here. This movie totally blew my mind and fucked with me as i expected a usual western, which ihate. However i ended up loving this and your reaction was totally on point with my emotions. Cheers my dude
This actually isn't David Arquette's first time in a western. One of his earlier roles was in 1995's WILD BILL opposite Jeff Bridges.
matthew fox was in speed racer. if you see it for nothing else, see it for his racer x. to this day, i’m _STILL_ upset about the wasted potential of that cartoon being in production only 1 year.
The old deputy is Mr Doback from Step brothers that blew my mind.
Matt fox was also in smokin aces not a large role
Smokin aces is so awesome. Movie is mad underrated and I have no clue how it got bad reviews when it released. That movie is just madness, some great acting performances in there and the cast is great, Chris Pine was my favorite in that movie
This movie came in under the radar and I only watched it because Kurt Russell was in it. The two things that stood out for me the most were: the slowest, most plodding yet determined rescue I've ever seen, and the horrifying brutality of those savages. Never seen anything like those cannibals. Great movie though!
yes it was shocking ending and i wouldnt wanna meet them cannabals
Bro what’s the name of the intro music. It is 🔥
Its a western horror dude
Plz tell me where to watch this movie
watch power book 2 , you wont regret it.
This really isnt that brutal if you grew up on foreign (particularly Italian or Hong Kong) horror or old school exploitation.
This movie was an absolute crazy ride that caught me off guard and I'm super glad I watched it.
BRAWL in CELL BLOCK 99!!!
loved this movie
This movie is wild, shit is great tho. Great cast and Zahler is a fantastic writer/director. You should definitely check out his follow ups “brawl in cell block 99” and “dragged across concrete”, those were his 2 movies that followed this, shit is awesome and Vince Vaughn is great in both. Brawl in cell block 99 is the better of the 2 imo but both are great. Definitely recommend doing a reaction to “brawl in cell block 99”, that shit is brutal as fuck
Have to agree on "Dragged Across Concrete". Another great character piece with terrific writing.
@@Pyro7k yup that was a great movie, i especially enjoyed those movies when we get to see Vince Vaughn do serious stuff, guy is a fantastic actor so it’s always a great seeing him in a project like dragged. Shame that movie kinda flew under the radar, shit is awesome
Got to agree about “Cell block 99”. That movie was so brutal it was boarding on cartoonish but never crossed the line.
That scene when the guy went to the horse stall calling for a guy traumatized me
After watching "the scene" just remember that real people suffered real tortures at the hands of American tribes similar and WORSE than what is shown here...
Read up on the history of native American tribal customs at your own risk.
The brutality in the movie is unlike anything I've seen before in cinema. Some of it is more than I can stomach.
"Kurt Russell is awesome in everything he's in" Agreed.
It took you a while to recognize the Man of Science.
Did you see the directors follow up? “Brawl in cell block 99” it’s got some Fuckin absolutely brutal scenes in there too. Vince Vaughn fuckin rules in that shit too. Highly recommend
You know how goddamn sharp that thing had to be to cut clean through buddy's wrist like that
I’m definitely going to watch this 🤪
Oh, schitt. This movie. I've never watched it, but just reading detailed review and content stuff about it was *YIIIKES.* It's probably been years since I even read that stuff but just seeing the title and the thumbnail was enough for me to remember that just reading about the stuff was deeply disturbing, LMBO. 🤣
You have my sympathies and well-wishes, haha. 😁
It’s a fantastic movie and is worth a watch
13:40 thanks
