Do you race the legends car

You are 'pinching" the apex on entry every time. The apex is quite a bit later in the corner requiring you to turn in later and clip the apex towards the back of the corner allowing better drive out.

Hey Bret, I'm an old timer now but back in the late '90's I raced Legends at the small track in front of the Grandstand at Texas Motor Speedway. They didn't yet have the Li'l TMS track built yet. The cost hasn't gone up much at all so a brand new turn key race car will be around $13000.00 bucks. You will need to get with other racers and have them help you set your car up but essentially it is ready to race out the door. A good setup by experienced drivers will help you manage getting around the track and getting that much needed seat time to help make you competitive. It takes a little time so be patient. The guys will be glad to help you get started so they can beat you on the track. Lol. I've seen used cars in decent condition range in price from 4000 to 7000 bucks. I do hope this helps you young man. Good luck and Godspeed to you. It will bring you a huge amount of joy to race those Legend cars. God Bless you buddy!

Scott Riggleman thank you very much Mr. Riggleman! This was so helpful. One last question, how often is the maintenance upkeep on them? Did you do it yourself?

You are quite welcome Sir. There is a fair amount of maintenance to be done in order to keep her in good racing condition but nothing too difficult. Right now while you have some time go ahead and tune in to RUclips and seek out the guys that have been around and raced awhile in these cars. Many of them give detailed instruction on maintenance and repairs and general upkeep. Things like what rearend gears to run at which track and changing out front spindles and fenders because you will brake them from time to time. When you begin to get used to the driving you'll want to do some things to make the car perform better. Check your current rules to keep you out of trouble but we used to put after market carbs for higher performance and sipe the tires for better grip, etc. Siping is simply machining small cuts across the tread and helps keep the tires cooler and stop better, etc. Get handy at turning your own wrenches to save money but also to learn your car inside and out. The race car is an extension of the driver so you need to treat it like you would your body. Keep it well groomed and become one with it to build confidence. In time you will learn what you want to do to the car, what changes you prefer and how to make your cockpit comfortable for the best quality driving experience. Watch and listen to experienced racers and be willing to help them as well. The racing family is usually very close knit and helpful to one another and it doesn't matter how old you are or where you come from. If your into racing they'll treat you right. Be humble. Watch many hours of instructional video paying close attention. I was inexperienced and so I did these things and had the time of my life. Hey, you never know where racing might take you.
