    You get quality drive time as a rookie starting in the back. I learned my car, other racers driving habits, my home track, who's fast, whos not. Respect all the other drivers and their race cars. I started passing guys that raced there long before me. I moved to the front quick. 😎🏁

      My rookie year I sarted in the back for the first 7-10 races.... I finshed 2nd in points

    • @youknoweverything7643
      @youknoweverything7643 10 месяцев назад

      I won my first season championship my first year racing at age of 9 in a 4 cylinder rear wheel drive ministock class against 25 cars that showed up every night. It was a really close points race and I didn't win but 1 race that year rest I finished top 3 and one top5 never finished worse then top5 all year. If your consistent and points race and don't destroy your equipment you can win championships with out even winning a race. But that's hard to do in my experience you need at least a win or two in order to have a better shot at it

    Thought you did really well for your first time. Can't wait to see your next video. You have what it takes to drive.
    Sucks when people spin out and collects you in the process. You almost cleared him, and I thought you were gonna avoid the reck. But it's not your fault.
    Repairs is a never ending job the we stock car drivers endure through out our careers.
    Good luck on your next race. Sweet Thunder Racing.

    Newbies, learn from these videos... do not run your fuel line through the passenger compartment, put the gauges in front of you, set up your front end so it pulls to the left, toe out your front tires, use a big steering wheel or use power steering, put a heavy spring in the right front and drive into the corners until the back end starts to come around and back off on the gas slightly to set the car and then full throttle. By hitting on a off the gas in the corners it upsets the handling and create problems that are not really there. Smooooth is good.....15 years racing street stocks and 5 years racing IMCA modifieds....

      Toe out which front tire to make her pull left. 86 monte carlo

    • @lyon406
      @lyon406 4 года назад +2

      from the center total toe out is from 1/8" to 1/4" depending on the track size and condition. SO if the left front is straight the right front would be toed out. Caster is set with more negative on the left then the right. This will pull the front end into the corner. The amount of caster also depend on the banking. Example: 3 degrees positive on the left and 8 degrees positive on the right. Then you have toe out on turns which is related to the lengths of the pitman arm to idler arm and steering arms. Heating and bending the arms changes the toe on turns or changing the lengths of the idler arm in relation to the pitman arm. I did it on an alignment rack for all my cars.

    I'm 80 years old and I'm getting into pure stock dirt racing. My 81 Olds is ready and I'm anxious for our first race in a few days. I raced a little back in the middle 1960's. First baby came along and racing came to an end. Widower for 4 years now and the itch is still there. Built my own motor last summer. My track times are very good. Adjustments made. Ready to get it on.

    Wish my family was as rich as these other people lol. I started racing go karts when I was 11. So about 5 years ago. We've never really had much money but I've developed a passion for racing. My dad traded his boat for an asphault car but I hate asphault racing. We're about to trade it for a dirt car. I can't wait go get out on the track and drive a real stock car.

    Looks like you actually got a fast racecar thier. Some seat time I know this video is old but you will be up front in no time. My first time on dirt I was 15 and been racing asphalt since I was 9 in a 4 cylinder ministock mustang when I was 9-14 then moved up to asphalt pro trucks and pro latemodels and got my first dirt car when I was 15 and it was a pure stock same class as this your racing in and my first race on dirt was a 50 lapper around a very small bull ring for 5500 to win in the pure stocks that night I had no practice prior except for hot laps that day before ethe heat races. Ended up winning my heat race and I chose to start scratch in the Main cause when ever I drive in a new division I always start in the rear for the first two races sometimes 3 to get use to the car, the class and the drivers in that class. Well by lap 26 I was already in 4th place and haven't been involved in the 6 cautions we had and we race back to the start finish line which I found to be a blast driving around a wreck wife open and passing who I can to gain a extra spot or two. I ended up winning the race that night beginners luck cause I went 5 races with out a win only 4 3rd place finishes and 1 5th place finish before my next win on dirt would come. Now I'm racing only dirt cars in a 410 sprint car and a ump modified that I run a few usmts races with

    Try to set the car up for the corner more start high and use the break to set it for the exit and you get a better run off the corner and it's easier to pass down the straights lol

      Every one has an opinion and mind is under no circumstances should the fuel line be inside of the cockpit even braided lines have been known to rupture and or leak and under a crash condition that might not be your fault and a fellow competitor's fuel tank ruptures and it happens you don't want that inside of the car run it high in the drive line housing chances are every slim of it getting torn off just an opinion
