“I’m not the greatest guitarist in the world”. Can someone tell him he’s dr. Brian May?
Hes not close to the greatest guitarist in the world
Chunga Punk perhaps he’s Mick Taylor’s neighbour. He’s a doctor of astronomy I think.
Chunga Punk top 5 guitarists for sure
queen and Pink floyd are the greatest bands though
@@bruhbruh2527 its all about preference
He said he wasn't the greatest technical player in the world. Which is true, he's not a virtuoso player, but he never set out to be that. Having the humility to admit that doesn't take away from the fact that he's on the level with other greats in his category, players like Clapton and Hendrix, guitar heroes who are not virtuosos either.
Brian, you can tell you are an humble soul. We are in this together. Stay strong stay blessed.
we live in times when Bryan May teaches the greatest solo in history of rock
I'm no geek or addict Brian im just in awe watching a legend in one of the greatest bands ever speaking and passing on his thoughts. Thank you
Brian is the reason why I started playing guitar I was so inspired by Brian may and Queen and I’ve always wanted to learn that beautiful guitar solo in bohemian rhapsody and this video has helped and inspired me more because I was learning it from the legend him self and hearing the solo live at the Queen concert on the Gold Coast in Australia was just outstandingly amazing, the concert had so much energy and it was the greatest concert I’ve been to. Thank you Brian may and thank you Queen
God Bless you BEAUTIFUL Brian. I could watch you twenty-four hours a day. What an honor. Thank You ❤❤❤❤
Love how celebs of all types are giving their time to help people with isolation 🙌🏼
How extraordinary, awful, and unexpected are these times. Moments like these help get you through.
"I see a little silhouette of a man..." I was lucky to grow up listening to Queen on cassette tape. Over 25 years later, they are still some of my happy memories.
That’s why we love you Brian you share your knowledge without question.
The word on his shirt "感謝" means "Thanks", which I want to say to him. Please stay safe!
Snapping on and snapping off! So much better than hammer on and pull off! Thanks for it, I'll always use it from now on.
Thank You for Your music!
robsg07 I was wondering what that was all about.
Took me a moment to figure it out :-D And "squeezed" up/ down rather than bend/ release, brilliant
He has so delicate fingers, almost like 20 years old lady, and that hair style, especially at beginning looks absolutely bad ass.
this has to be the most blessed and most wholesome guitar tutorial on this site.
Love this gentleman. In the Middle of this Crisis, we are very lucky!!! And he looks like Bach. Awesome.
I never would have guessed that Isaac Newton would teach me how to play guitar. 2020 really is a strange year..
I’ve seen you play that several times, live - brilliant! I’ve been a Queen fan since I was 14 when I first heard 7 Seas of Rhye. Since then I’ve lived my own interesting life including 30 years as a police officer / detective (moved down to London) and have never lost that deep sense of being impressed and captivated whenever I hear your music. Whatever you think yourself, I can assure you that you are one of the world’s most influential and cherished musicians. Thank you for making such amazing music, and such a great person. My eternal respect to you.
Wow, i feel like a star/genius like Brian is actually reachable to mortal people. Making a “how to play” of one of the most, sorry maybe THE MOST, iconic song of human history ... i just have no words haha. Just keep the home videos coming mate. Doing Quarentine and having the time to make this sort of footage is like a gift for humanity.
Always the greatest musicians are the most humble to share their knowledge. Thank you so much Brian for this beautiful and really special video!
I love him SO MUCH!!! He is the great, kind and positive man)))
The fact that he uses a small SS amp at home simply feels very comforting.
One of the coolest guys in rock. Love the fact he shared how he plays his songs.
Probably my favorite musician of all time
I could never imagine another guitar legend teaching his solos the way you do, big love from France Sir. Brian May ❤️❤️❤️
A lovely lesson from a true master of the electric guitar that made modern day musical history! What more could you ask for? What a gentleman. THANK YOU BRIAN.
I just know if Freddie was about his twitter feed would be hilarious, full of cat photos and taking the mic out of roger
ThatGuyTobyPlayz YES
And posting videos of himself and jim hutton
@@ClaraMercury jim is dead
@@pew8240 So is Freddie, what's your point? This is all hypotheticals and fiction.
If Freddie were on twitter I might actually bother to use twitter.
Though I also suspect he would have like, a tumblr account everyone kinda knows is his but nobody can fucking prove it. Just for the sheer and absolute chaos of it
Queen, The Beatles, Black Sabbath, Def Leppard, Led Zeppelin, Slash, Elton John, Phil Collins, Motorhead, The Who, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, The Police, Status Quo, ext, really do make me feel so proud to be English 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
0:21, take a shot every time he makes this noise
You’re a legend Brian 😂
Speckal Boii😂😂😂 yesss I did it along with him and my mom was like Wryd and I’m like “I’m being Brian May mom”
It sounds like the noise of a camera shutter. He‘s taking snapshots of the room with his mouth.
Also at the very start of Driven By You.
Speckal Boii lip smacking ?
MusiSean I think that’s what it is lol
Thank you Brian! I am 52 and have been learning for a year now and Queen has always been a favorite!! What a privilege!
Can you believe were sitting here watching him like this? Hes a LEGEND!! And hes so sweet!!!
Good evening mr Brian
When ever I watch you some old moments of Queen hop into my mind
I love all the songs of Queen so much but innuendo is my favorite!!!
Brian May if you're reading this my uncle loves you he loves queen and so do I.
im literaly close to tears only to see this guitar sing . And the man playing it is an icon of rock history . ty for your share in this times .... sorry for my english im from quebec so basicly french .. One last time TY so much this just made my day .And i just learned a new guitar solo :D
I love that your hair is still growing and CURLING dear Brian May. Go on with your wonderfull love of and for music.
Brian I just want to say thank you for all the great memories I have because of Queen and the music and Freddie, you guys made the 70's the best !
I can’t even play the Guitar but I’m over here watching closely
Lovely man. Feels very privileged to learn the solo from the man himself. Thank you
brian: "i'm not the greatest guitarist in the world"
also brian: has been named the greatest rock guitarist of all time by total guitar magazine
You know I never heard anyone say that Roger Taylor or John deacon being the greatest drum/bass players of all time
I love he is so chill and I'm like screaming it's Bohemian Rhapsody!!!!!!
What an absolute legend. I can;t begin to imagine how many people this guy has influenced to pick up a guitar. When he said "I'm not the greatest guitarist in the world" - that blew my mind - maybe not the greatest technically speaking today, but his talent goes beyond technicality - his solo's were ground breaking, and gave Queen their signature sound. Brian's guitar and Freddy Mercury's voice together will never be repeated or matched - totally unique - musical perfection. Thanks for the video Brian!!!
Seems to be genuine nice guy. 👍
Nobody:
Brian May: *Tongue Click*
Loved this! Absolute legend!
I feel like he could be a character in Harry Potter 😂
MarkoThePianoMan i wonder what house would he be sorted my guess would be either Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff idk really cause he’s hadworking, diligent and fair cause those are some of the traits of Hufflepuff and smart, intelligence from Ravenclaw
Definitely Ravenclaw
i think he would be a Hufflepuff librarian, but a cool librarian
MarkoThePianoMan, I mean, yeah, is guitar playing is basically magic
Da gorrilaa,
Never
Sr. May, es un placer comprobar como el talento de un músico como usted es igualado por su generosidad y sencillez. Gracias.
Brian. You are an incredible guitarist. I remember seeing you all at the Hammersmith Odeon in 1975. I simply fell in love with the sound you produced way back then, & at 72, you still rock. Take care, & please stay safe.
BRAVO Brian! Enjoyed your video immensely....... My Sister and I were one of the white suited Mob at "Shepperton Studios" in Surrey for the filming of "Radio Ga Ga" - Such a Privilege. I have listened to "Freddie" Sing every day for the last 40 years - I love Queen!
Brian's hands and nails are so well cared and beautiful
That's kinda weird to the Queen guitarist who created the most touching solos
He even gets that's tone in his living room.
Well propably cause he uses his own equipment lol
that tone is in his fingers ...can not be replicated.
DIY guitar, DIY pickup, his tone is his own and his own alone.
@@ezzong not the one he is using there
sir edzonko, it’s a production guitar from the factory he’s playing here. One can be bought, if you’ve got the money. I don’t know how much this version costs. Various replicas have been made of the Red Special over the years.
To see a home vid of a guitar god like Brian May showing us how to play parts of his masterpiece and his immediate home surroundings in shorts Is a gift to see this incredible talent. Showing the reality of the moment . THANK YOU BRIAN!!
Totally mindblowing. My favourite guitarist of all times shows his playing and gear from his living room. All delivered with a humbleness that makes him even bigger. Love, Brian!
Thank you for doing this, Bri. It’s calming to know you’re there and well. You’re right, we’ll get through this.❤️
Simply wow the Master of Master giving lessons i love Queen and each one of their members
Brian may wrote the Bohemian Rhapsody guitar solo
I bet his neighbors were like:
Damnit Brian is at it again....
Seen his house? His neighbors can't hear him
@@Kalabanano Have you eve heard the term "sarcasm" ?

He's such a warm, good person, how can you not love him? Bri, you've got my lifetime respect, just as Roger, John and Freddie.
It gets better every time I see it!
I can’t believe Brian May is teaching us Bo rap!! It is like a dream come true!!!!
Let me go watch it again...😂
I have to basically pinch myself knowing that I'm not dreaming - this is The Brian May giving us this tutorial. We are not worthy!!! You said- "I'm not the world's greatest technical guitar player" - so humble... you are right up there with revered timeless legends of guitar players... and yet you seem so humble, down to Earth kind of guy. This July I was looking forward to watching Queen with my girlfriend in Madrid and watching this Guitar God of a guy on stage! This has been postponed for 2021 apparently due to the virus outbreak. Really appreciate this video... I hope you get better very soon. Rock N Roll!! - by the way you should do a show in Gibraltar (I'm from there)!
Brian May: "I'm not the world's greatest expert technical guitar player"
Me: Hmmm.... Sir, I beg to differ.
He's not but his impact on the guitar world is unparalleled
@@maxwelledison9954 yep.
Jimi Hendrix? lol
One of the greatest technical players is Joe Satch.. his resume of students is like no other musician in the guitar world. Brian however has sound and soul and will always be loved
I'd say there are plenty of more technically skilled and more influential guitarists but everyone is unique and Brian May certainly brought something of his own to the table
With his glasses on, he looks like he should be on money. The man is a legend!!
Brian. Your short videos are the best Cure against isolation and boredom of this period. We love you! Thanks
1st solo I ever learnt when I was 11, first on air guitar then tennis racket... then eventually, after purchasing Brian's Master Lick's video, on the actual guitar but in reality it has taken me a couple of decades since to be able to attempt to find a level of feel close to Brian May. He's an absolute legend!
Hi Brian!!❤️❤️ I just listened to Made in Heaven for the first time (why did I wait so long??) it’s beautiful! I am musically challenged, but love listening to your tutorials. Stay safe and thank you for sharing yourself with everyone. 🙏
This guy looks a lot like the guitarist from queen.
GunsNStuff100 🎸🇬🇧🏆
GunsNStuff100 I know... weird
It's obvious because he is 🤨
Vimla Devi it’s a joke smh 😞😞😞
@@Drew-kc7wg There's always one isn't there?
Truly a legend. His frizzy hair hasn't changed since his career took off in the 70's.
What a well mannered and dignified gentleman he is. He is very very talented and so very knowledgeable too! We haven't many of these guy's around anymore and I hope and pray that we will all be safe and somehow come through this awful virus that is surrounding us all at the moment? And maybe get to see life in a very different way and that humanity will have a place back in society and we can all start to love each other more and see our stars back gracing our stages like they used to. Thank you Brian for taking the time to upload this to give us all something to take us out of this doom and gloom for a while? God bless you all and take good care of each other 👤🎤🎸🎹
Brian - without a shadow of a doubt, your guitar playing is up there with the very, very best. It's all about how the music makes us feel and you make us feel G-R-E-A-T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the music my man.
