    2:50 Make a game plan
    5:10 Practice will power
    7:30 Take notes (she did this while listening to the lectures on 1.75 speed & said don't take too much time typing / rewriting everything they say)
    9:45 Prioritize the highly tested info (study as much as possible, but don't spend too much time on things that might appear on 1 or 2 MC questions)
    12:20 Exercise (Gym or pool 1 hour 6x a week with 1-2 walks per day)
    Other helpful info: She covered 3-6 modules per day & reviewed prior modules the next day.
    After reading this and being in the study process, I'm thinking she really focused on prioritizing heavily tested info and didn't get caught up with small details. During the lectures, the lecturer will often say "this is heavily tested." So I'm rolling with that!
    Good luck everyone!!

    Congratulations. Go Bruins! That's quite an accomplishment. Two months is so fast! It's been over 10 years for me, and it took me five months (January - May 2010). I studied throughout busy season for FAR (January - March), which was challenging since it was my first busy season (I was in tax). But I would listen to lectures in the car on the way to work. Then studied a month for REG and then two weeks each for BEC and AUD. Congrats again.

Also, were you a good student and did you find that college courses prepared you for the exam well? I would lock myself in the guest bedroom the last 3 weeks before the exam and studied for 12 hours. Thanks God my Mom helped me with my kids. john Park I wouldn’t recommend studying more than two at the same time especially since there might be some nuanced differences in tests such as how FAR and REG have different rules tested for amortization of intangibles. If you haven’t done FAR yet I would recommend you use this time to study that because it’s so time consuming.

    Passed all 4 parts in month and a half. Scores over 90 in all 4 parts. Studied for 5-6 hrs a day while working part time. To be honest, it’s the easiest exam from all the competitive exams I have taken. That being said, I have an eidetic memory. As far as the strategy goes, I just sat for 5-6 hrs, every single day and completed atleast one module (Becker) from all 4 parts. Remember it’s about quality and not quantity. There’s no way someone can sit and focus for 12 hrs (unless you’re on something) let alone retain all the information studied during that time. I’d rather study couple hrs and retain everything than study for 12 hrs and retain information in pieces. Took me 3-4 weeks to complete the coursework for all parts and 1 week to complete review and mock exams. I would advice you to not spend too much time on simulation while taking mock exams except the research questions. There is no review course that prepares you well enough for simulations. It’s about how well you know the concepts. If you are completing your coursework and doing good, you should be fine. Took all 4 parts the following week which was close to the end of testing period. After I passed, received offers from all big 4 and regional firms which rejected my applications before I was a CPA. Rejected all the offers, worked in public accounting for a national firm (audit) for 7-8 months and realized it wasn’t challenging enough. Left public accounting and currently working in internal audit in financial service industry, earning significantly more and working less hours than folks in public accounting. In my opinion, all these certifications offered or required post graduation are scam and ways to make money for all these organizations. First they want you to go to college and then pass all these mind numbing certifications to qualify you to be something that you already studied for four-five years in college. People who have graduated college with Masters’ or Bachelors’ degree in Accounting is more than enough for you to qualify and be successful in financial service industry. CPA doesn’t add any value to the knowledge quotient and in long term it’s just three letters that you add next to your name. It just means that you were able to pass the exams. However, no one’s ready for that conversation yet!

    • @zoeunlimited
      @zoeunlimited  4 года назад +2

      Amazing!! Thanks for sharing this experience! I agree with you that we certainly shouldn’t overlook the importance of education or experience over certification and am glad to hear how you were able to find the right path for you!
      I’m only a few months into public accounting and definitely already see the good and bad sides of it. But overall having the CPA exams done does leave a peace in mind and certainly helped me better accommodate to my new role:))

      Yes, Sanket, you are a genius and I can tell that you probably sat for the exam after completing your degree program. My apology for calling you a liar. On a different note, U completely agree with you, this CPA exam is really a scam, once you graduated from college, you can do any Accounting work, it is just a way for the organization to make money, period.

    • @natalyd9674
      @natalyd9674 3 года назад

      Thank you. I’ve worked as an internal auditor for two years and I haven’t used ANYTHING that was ever on the exam. I was fortunate enough not to go the public accounting route because that’s modern day slavery. Yeah you make 65k a year, but if you do the math, that’s $15 an hour because you’re working 90 hours a week (no lie). Sure, it’s a rite of passage and good experience. You’ll be able to get a job anywhere if you work for the big four. But if you’re able to avoid it, I would. But yeah, the CPA exam is just a money making weeding out process.

    In the Philippines, we have to take 6 subjects at the same time and prepare for it within 4 months. Kind of jealous that CPA examinees in US can set their own date in taking the exam.

      We only have one week to take all the 6 subjects.

    Hi. Thank you for sharing these wonderful tips. You mentioned that you used to review previous day's modules before starting current day's studies. Did you refer the textbook every time you went back or highlighted notes or your hand written notes? Can you also make a video on how to approach simulations for AUD and FAR. Thanks again
