I feel like the way you should phrase this isn't that it's a strict tier list, but it's a tier list of harlequins on their own, and not comparing them to any other Army. You basically say harlequins exist in a vacuum, and this is how the units compared against the other units of the army. You can include comparisons to other armies if you want, but there are ranked next to each other not every other Army in the game
where are you getting the point values for the units from? They don't seem to match up with the Harlequin codex, although I know there isn't a 9th ed codex for them yet.
i completely agree with this list. except the skyweavers. Harlequin bikes are so good and in my opinion better than tier troupes. you should use at least 10 in a competetive 2000 points list
I am tempted to get a small force of harlequins (my 12th small force of another army because my indecisive ass cant choose an army to stick with), and this helped a lot.
Each unit is on the S tier and the F tier. Your game comes down to 2 things as a clown player: having a plan for each unit, and knowing how to avoid making as many saves as possible. If you throw clowns down the middle of the table then you can expect to be tabled by Grots or flashlights. If you know how to plan each unit for pulling off the kill and can keep them out of range or avoid mortal wounds then you're doing it right.
@@an_averagejoe7837 havocs are terrible, probably D tier even by CSM standards (and most of their units are D tier) because they are a very expensive unit that only has 1 wound and typical marine statline (T4 3+ save) combine that with if they can shoot something, that thing can shoot them means they are VERY likely to get shot off the board before they achieve anything chaincannons are great, but compound the issue as they are only 24' range so your havocs are doubly going to be shot off and you are losing 150pts worth in 5 wounds if you like chaincannons just use them in standard CSM squads (you can have 1 per 5) because their bolters are the same range so you need to move up to 24' anyway, and you have the buffer of the standard CSM models to chuck away before you have to lose the 1 expensive wound carrying the chaincannon standard CSM squads are also not good, C tier at best, but troops its them or cultists which are also bad so you have to take them anyway, may as well put your chaincannons in there CSM are in DESPERATE need of a new codex
Not sure if you'll answer this but as you get deeper in WH40K, do you ever see yourself getting into the Age of Sigmar stuff? Just curious because I wanted to see your thoughts on it
They shared some image recently with a Dominion box. Unfortunately their video output has slowed down somewhat lately. I’d love to see AOS but I fear it’s unlikely
@@youngthinker1 Detachments like outriders, spearhead, and vanguard detachments don’t get CP refunds if your warlord is there, so you will have less CP than normal (each of these detachments cost 3 cp). As for viability, if you have no infantry than you won’t have obsec so you will have a rough time playing for the objectives. Beyond that, some armies (like space marines) have incredibly good anti tank so your tanks will be torn apart sometimes, and because you have mostly vehicles your melee will be rather bad. If you play into a melee army then they can try to tie you up in melee to prevent you from shooting their objective holders. Also you will suffer from a lower model count than normal. On the up side, you hit really hard!
