I wish they would eventually allow EoP / IFHE as a Choice for Legendary skill on Battleship commanders too (like on PC Wows). That would allow us to boost Navarin’s 22mm base HE pen on the secondary guns ..up to 27mm ! This would be a huge improvement for her performance, though you do sacrifice Half her Fire chances per shell, as a tradeoff… 🤔
As an avid russian BB enjoyed I see Navarin as an absolute W of a campaign ship seeing as we rarely if ever get new russian ships let alone a secondary brawler which is unique for a soviet ship.
That's a good case for getting the ship. I think you want the campaign rewards to be unique and offer a playstyle unlike anything else you can get on, for example, the tech line. Navarin does offer that. But the 35 second reload, really low AP alpha, and poor general accuracy makes it feel unenjoyable to me.
I'm not expecting great things from this ship but I always get admiralty backing and looking forward to getting it as it brings another dimension to the Russian BB line. Thanks for showcasing the Navarin, GG👍
Yeah not real sure why Nava got nerfed. I feel like the heal was fine cause in order to do any consistent damage you're gonna have to face tank quite a lot of heat coming your way. And those shell catchers don't do you any favors. Also, our Alaska has a 32mm bow and stern. Which is different from PC which is where I'm assuming you got 27 from.
Really don’t understand why they nerfed the heal on this thing it was preforming fine, not a single soul was saying the navarin was overpowered with that improved heal. Not to mention our version is already nerfed in another way compared to the pc version, on pc the secondaries (main gimmick of this ship) base reload is 5 seconds while ours is 6 seconds, not sure why they felt the need to do that as well. However I do know our development team that handles legends has a history of nerfing almost anything to do with battleships secondary effectiveness.
Borodino would have been the better choice for a campaign ship...that's Wargaming for ya... When I observe the Navarin, I'm reminded of the Zieten-similar main turret configuration that seems to invite kiting, so this brings forth a logical question. Is the Navarin a kiting battleship? If so, what is the practical application of a kiting brawler that has that typical exposed Soviet citadel?
This Thing suffers like no other russian bb from the Lack of hybrid commanders. Any type of secondaries+ accuracy will make this ship more fun instantly
I did use Galler, and the main battery performance was much better, which did make the ship feel slightly better. But still. The whole gimmick of the thing is the secondary power, and I feel like what's the point of building for accuracy when you have those? But then at the same time, the main battery performance is so bad when building for secondaries... I don't know. It's a real catch 22.
Sorry to say that but navarin is an underpowered joke the heal nerf killed it at least give it morw armor or hide the citadel . How to brawl with this citadel???😢
To me the guns aren't fun and the secondaries feel useless . I've gotten great games but the the ship isn't fun when the guns miss so much and the gun lay out isn't to great
A brawler build and complaining about accuracy? Maybe if you did an accuracy build and still, then fine. But I'm annoyed when someone doesn't spec into accuracy complains about accuracy
Did you actually listen to what I said? I spent like the entire middle part of the video explaining, in no uncertain terms, that I tried an accuracy build and found myself caught in a bit of a catch 22. On the one hand, there's a billion secondaries, and that's an incentive to build for brawling and secondary power. On the other hand, the main gun accuracy is so poor without using an accuracy commander, that I decided I'd use Galler for a few games. I did get much better performance out of the main battery when I did that. Still don't really like it though, because the guns take 35 seconds to reload and the AP alpha is 11k -- exceptionally low for 16 inch guns when things like the Minnesota (same number of guns and same size) get 12.8k alpha. It just all feels bad.
A few torpedoes could have made for some more bawling fun
Has one torpedo. The hull.
@Xarkun "hey that torpedo has guns!"

So Navarin gets 1.5 sigma with normal USN dispersion, no increased accuracy at closer ranges.
That's why it feels so inaccurate... because it is.
Yep. It's pretty awful. It would be less awful if it didn't also have 35 second reload and AP shell alpha of a fairly pitiful 11k.

I don't know. I thought the improved heal was fine myself when they put this thing out for rental before the update.
How well do you think the AL Russian commander would do on this ship? I got her from the free crate.

I remember this match!! Your teammates interrupted our fun lol.
Yeah don’t see myself ever putting this in my favorites so I’m skipping this one.
Don’t skip just collect even if you don’t run it
I'll second that. Even if you never play it, better to have it than not. And all the extra stuff you get from the campaign is worth it.
This Thing suffers like no other russian bb from the Lack of hybrid commanders.

That is true. If we had someone like Hide, that would make the ship better.
Maybe try a full sniper build with Galler , Cunningham and Iachino as inspirations and Epic main battery reload mod

I thought the Alaska’s bow was 32 mm
It is. Congress has 27mm bow.
Oh you're right. My mistake. I'm thinking of Alaska on PC. Whoops.
This thing is a tier VI at best
Secondary are already good, build into guns
Oooh first!
Sorry to say that but navarin is an underpowered joke the heal nerf killed it at least give it morw armor or hide the citadel . How to brawl with this citadel???😢
Having hella innacurate guns with miserable 11000 AP damage alpha on 406's makes no sense to me.
Same.

Easy skip
I have much better ships that I would rather play.
Fr especially secondary focused BBs but tbh premium wise at t8 the pommern and karl johann suck ass more than the navarin
