    This is great, thanks for your work, sir.
    One question, after the head suffered 2 resurfacing operations, should i go with Cometic 0.036, next in thickness compared to oem?
    Context: Cyl head was built, then it was resurfaced the 1st time before putting it back. Then i bought it off the guy who ran it for like 2000 miles after being built and parted out his car afterwards due to buying a house etc. Will need to resurface it again.
    Hence my question, should i go with a Cometic 0036? Instead of oem 0030?
    Thanks

    is it normal practice to bottom the studs in theblock and then loosen them off again?

    • @hockeynube11
      @hockeynube11  5 лет назад

      brad glasgow yes this is normal practice, per ARP specifications head studs should only be finger tight going into the block, I like to run them all the way down to make sure they reach the bottom, back them off and then make them finger tight

    So if I'm using 88m manley pistons and plan on staying around 450hp, do I need to use a cometitc head gasket and if so how thick should it be?. I've tried searching multiple places and can't find anything about the oem head gasket with upgraded pistons

      It seems everyone uses the cometic head gasket which is an 89mm bore and, has 4 different thickness options (.030", .036", .040" and, .051")

      Oddball Kevin you guys have a phone number or email address I can reach you at to purchase that head gasket?

  • @brendanpalmier4638
    @brendanpalmier4638 5 лет назад

    Hey Kevin you said youve seen the head gasket blown on cylinder 1 by those coolant ports a lot? Does these also give super low compression in cylinder 1 as Well?

    • @hockeynube11
      @hockeynube11  5 лет назад

      brendan palmier yes if the head gasket blows out you will have super low compression because the pressure will be going into either the coolant passage or the oil passage depending on where the gasket blows out, there can be other issues besides a blown head gasket causing low compression
