    Hi Jim,
Currently, I have a work permit through pending asylum. I have been working for a company for about 4 years, now my employer wants to sponsor me through EB3 or possibly EB2 by having an advanced degree. Would I be eligible to adjust my status since I applied for asylum? (While I had an active F1 visa, I applied for asylum)
    Thanks for your help!

When you adjust your status through marriage, employement, Dv lottery and if you have a pending asylum case, the priority will be given to the adjustment of status process and it will prevail. You still can continue with the asylum process but it’s not necessary.

Hi Jim, first of all I want to say Its a delight watching you speak! The level of confidence and professionalism you have consistently demonstrated puts me at ease. I would sincerely prefer to contact you and hire you as my immigration lawyer. However, I will wait until I have more funds. I arrived in the U.S Aug 2022 as a High School teacher through an agencies as a J1 - foreign exchange teacher. I am fully aware of the restrictions places on my work contract - that I should leave the U.S.A at the expiry of my visa - but based on the prevailing STEM high school teacher shortages, I believe I stand a good chance of getting a school that will employ me and give me a job offer - after my visa expires in 2024/2025 session. My question now is this. Is there anything I can do while I am working as a teacher in the United States that can help my case for a Lawful Permanent Residence LPR?

Even though you are a millionaire, and you decide to invest in the U.S ($500,000 or more ) by employing U.S citizens, this will grant you the permanent resident status not the citizenship. The fastest way to get the U.S citizenship for those who are permanent resident already is to enlist in the U.S military.

I am married to a Colombian same sex if that matters or not. I would like to get my father-in-law to the United States so he can get the proper healthcare and be taken care of in our home and I would also like to adopt my brother-in-law‘s were under the age of 16 and bring them to the United States for an education and have them join the military. Does the military still do the citizenship after basic training? Lesly, I have an adult sister-in-law. Her age is 30 now I’m very close to are there any way of getting her to the United States? I do own a company in the U.S. and abroad if I employed her because she does have a specialty skill that is hard to find in the US would I be able to bring her to be with the rest of the family? Also, we may have a funeral come up. We are a mixed Latino, Swedish and creole family so the family is very very close and my mother is dying. Is there a visa for funerals?
