Is always very good to be informed my case was done 7 months ago and I've been married for almost 6yrs thank God I never experienced that. But is always good to know all this
Something I could never do - marry for papers. Must be nerve wrecking plus there are cases where the person doesn't want to let the person off the hook. It's crazy though that ppl doing this get through much faster and are classified as family and placed above real blood family. Plus chances are there are various people working in the sector that could be prejudice and mask it well.
Because I went through US immigration for an employment based green card I was pretty much interested how this works in my home country for "Unbefristeter Aufenthaltstitel". (German permanent resident card). Among the horror stories I found is that in one case that the local foreigners office ("Ausländeramt", bon refugee and non asylum immigration is decided by the local county/"Landkreis") ordered a detective to spy on the man who petitioned for his wife coming from the African continent. The detective came when he did business trips that week for his employer and she was alone. She nearly got deported if her husband hadn't put the immigration attorney immediately on fire...
I suppose that this would apply if the foreign person is here on a work visa or perhaps a student visa in some cases. It seems to me that the vast majority of the K-1 and CR-1 applications include someone not currently in the US.
A K-1 and a CR-1 are two different types of visas. a K-1 is a visa to give someone temporary access into the US for the sole express purpose of marrying a US citizen. A CR-1 visa is a limited time green card for couples already married and they've been married for two years or less. In the case of a CR-1 the petitioner can be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident / green card holder. If a foreign national is here in the US on a student visa they already have legal authority to be in the US and therefore do not need either a K-1 or a CR-1. You do not need a visa to get married in the US. You need a visa to get legal entrance into the US, that is all. However the foreign national would need to file an I-485 (application for permanent residence or adjustment of status) to ensure they continue to have legal authorization to remain in the US even after their student visa expires.
hi Jim. Chanced upon your RUclips. Just wonder if you know any solution of student already on F1-OPT employment in US trying to figure to change to H1B1 route (Singaporean). Does it work if someone already in US. Thanks
Good evening Jim Hacking. we are your client. we have been sending mail to your law firm and there and there are no responses. please try and look into our case. because Mrs leidy is not responding to our mail. 😢
Hi, I’m dating a girl that’s married to another person but she wants to be with me if she leaves the guy it will mess up her green card status 😩 what can be done in this situation? How can we be together now without any issues? She’s starting to distant herself from me to get her green card and I’m hurting 😓 please help I really love her and wish she had meet me before this guy I’m so lost and frustrated please. She’s worried that if we go out in public or talk on the phone it will mess up her process and she as well is frustrated what can be done in this situation
Good question! You can participate in Jim’s RUclips live show @HackingImmigrationLawLLC & ask him any immigration questions. Text SHOW to 314-470-3300 for new show updates.
Please kindly advise on this situation: A white American harassing, violently threatening, and racially profiling a Black International Student in a shared apartment, and when the Black International Student reports to the apartment's authorities / management, the apartment's authorities / management ignores the Black International Student. On reporting to the Police, the Police Officers cautions the White American, and advice the Black International Student to immediately vacate the apartment because of the safety of the Black International Student's life. Then the apartment's authorities / management starts tormenting the Black International Student with ridiculous bills simply because the Black International Student heed to the advice of the Police and ran for the safety of his life. Please, what should the Black International Student do after reporting the case to the area's Housing organization that hears cases of harassments, threats, and racial profiling? Please note: The area's Housing organization is in support of the Black International Student, but the apartment's authorities / management reported the Black International Student for failing to pay the outrageous bills, and the apartment's authorities / management deny the harassments, threat to life, and racial profiling, saying they were jokes.

My husband did this with his sister He told me after they did it. His sister has a green card and nearly let it expired so they went to a so called attorney and they said she lived here in my house when she clearly never did. She would leave through Mexico so there wouldn’t be any evidence she would leave US. She’s filing taxes too to become us citizen and he was willing to say she was our baby sitter after I was taking care of my kids. I told him that was a lie and a federal crime. He got pissed at me for days . But here she is collecting money she never worked here. I just don’t want anything to do with it. I hate they put me in this situation I’m so angry! Worse his mom expects him to do it too. He would feel so bad . If his mom gets disappointed at him. Sad times for me and my marriage. I decided to stay for my kids . But don’t want to be part of that scheme. I never agreed to it. 😢
Do they spy on you? Follow you and tap your phone? Can you still have a social life out in public with other people of the opposite sex to where they don’t think your doing something funny
The government only cares to see that it looks like your marriage is in good faith. They also aren't going to wiretap you without a warrant but they will absoutely scour any social media posts you've made that are publicly available.
