One of my favorite Joe Walsh stories is the one he tells about how he decided to play guitar. He was watching the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show and his head was bobbing up and down. Then he looked at his parents on the couch and their heads were shaking from side to side...and the rest is history!
As far as the Eagles, he wasn't a founding member. He had his own success before & after.

A truly sweet man, I met him after a concert he did with Tom Petty in Gainesville FL. I was in the hospital, he came to the pediatric floor to sign autographs. I asked he would sign 5 more, for my siblings. With a small laugh, he replied, "sure". A memory I hold dear.

@SouthVA 757 They'd already turned rockier with One Of These Nights in '75, which started their ascent into the stratosphere. Walsh brought more firepower and helped them get there. But Leadon gave them Witchy Woman, which which makes me wonder why he felt he could only do country. Felder, Leadon & Frey are on fire in the very rocky "Visions" (never understood why that wasn't a hit). Leadon could do everything. ..... Maybe he just didn't want to.

Joe Walsh is one of the greatest guitar players to pick up a pic. I first heard him, or started listening to him, the week I turned 18. I was spending the summer at my cousins house. His father hired me to paint the house. But anyways, my cousins loved Joe Walsh and played him all day and all night. If you watch the lead in to "Hotel California" on their latest tour, "Hell Freezes Over" tour, you can hear him do a solo performance that's out of this world. Thanks for keeping the entertainment going. Loved this one.
