quick question. Great video, but I hear the AAL adds capacity to the payload. Did it change the ride with an empty bed? I'm torn between the AAL or a lift shackle. Thoughts? I don't run my truck overlanding with bed racks etc, and have only ever towed one time with it so far.
Thanks! When I put on the AAL, I was surprised how similar it felt to stock. Definitely lifted the truck up a bit, but the ride was largely the same. So, I don't think you'll have any issues running it without any weight in the back. If you switched the whole leaf pack to the parabolic which is really intended to carry more weight, I think you'd see a stiffer ride for sure. I've got the parabolics but have been holding off on installing them until I get my bed cap and rework the back of my truck to get the weight that will be in it, in it. Hope that helps!
@@AllThingsOverlanding Sure did thanks! Parabolic is out of my price range to be honest. I was just largely looking at the AAL or the lift shackles. I"m sure for my use case, either would be fine, but there is nothing wrong with a little extra capacity in the back.
It should work, but I would think with the 0 offset, you'd run into similar issues to my spacer in that it changes the angle a bit and might cause contact with the bottom of the fenders. If you check out some of the 2022+ Frontier Facebook groups and search for 0 offset wheels, I bet you'll see some people running that same setup and they will have talked about how it fit.
Definitely the biggest drop of all the mods. Probably lost about 2-3 MPG with the 33's. I also have about 1000 pounds of weight worth of gear in the back, but I had that when I went to WY last year and with stock tires, I still averaged 19-20 MPG. Now I'm getting about 16 or 17.
I pulled the trigger and will be picking up a 22 frontier sv 4x4 this week. Im working out a deal to include a/t tires from the dealership. Will the 33’s run on the stock truck decent enough to use for a week until i can get some spacers ordered?
You might have to remove mudflaps and maybe even have a little bit of rubbing on your fender liners, but you should be able to make it work for a week. Without wheel spacers, they fit better. I have wheel spacers on mine and they rub like crazy but on stock wheels and stock height you should be OK with a little bit of rubbing.
I plan on getting ADO’s Fox extended travel kit, will put me up to about 3” of lift front and rear. Will that maybe help reduce the cutting or even eliminate having to cut that metal piece? No serious wheeling yet, but wouldnt mind the 33’s with a 1” spacer
That might help a little bit. I'm basically rubbing on the bottom few inches so if your tires hit lower then you might be able to avoid some of the modification.
nope. I have the exact same lift, for a bout a year now. still have to trim. I have 255/80r17 with stock wheels and 1.5" spider trax spacers. maybe without the spacers. also, don't get the parabolic leaves unless you are going to put 300 plus lbs in the bed at all times. they are stiff. and squeak like crazy. its looks nice now with spacers. went back to factory leaf pack and a add-a-leaf. no more squeak, and ride quality is back to stock. supple.
Like your video some great information there your camera is a little out of focus had to freeze frame to see exactly what you were talking about the tires look great too your truck looks really awesome 😎 oh yes and I fast forward through the introduction music 😁
I did something similar on my 23' pro4x. and I agree they need a little wider stance on pro4x with the plastic fender flares. looks weird after you lift it. Mine has a 2-3" lift and the tires are skinnys, 255/80r17. I used spider trax wheel spacers on the stock wheels. they are 1.5". Had to trim similarly to you. I had the Z1 spacers originally, but didn't like how they fit. fit kinda loose on the hub. made in china. spider trax has been around for a while and made in USA. nice quality.
Definitely heard good things about Spidertrax. I've had good luck with the brand I'm running but they're all sort of a gamble (except spidertrax, haha). And agreed 100% on the stance. I couldn't do it without the spacer. Will eventually swap to different wheels with a better offset, but for now with the stockers, I like it with the spacer.
I didn't have an issue fitting 33's with a 1.5" spacer on my 3rd gen, minor trimming, but after adding a more negative and wider rim I would have had to really take out allot of metal. I don't get how guys are running the titan swap without hacking the truck up bad, I have a 5 inch lift and just clear.
Agreed. I have a 2nd gen that’s Titan swapped and it has probably 3+” cut off the front fenders and a bit cut off the front of the rear quarters so that everything clears at full compression.
With the small size of the all dogs lift, I don’t have any contact with my UCA so I didn’t upgrade it at this time. In a year or two when I end up doing a full suspension upgrade after there’s been some wear and tear, I will most likely upgrade UCA’s at that time.

Pretty sure 33’s will fit with just removing mud flaps if you stick with stock wheels. The issue comes when you add the 1”+ spacer or like myself, I have a 0mm offset wheel, so that is where you will have the issue.
yes they fit, however the front splash guards have to be removed. Also keep in mind not all tires in 285 70 17 are same diameter, some brands are a little larger or a little under size. Also 285 70 17 installed without a lift or level kit look kinda odd.
