- After installing some 285/70/17 tires onto my 2023 Frontier Pro-4x and 0mm offset wheels from Black Rhino there was a bit of trimming that needed to be done to stop the bigger tires from hitting the fenders on the Frontier. Here is quick rundown of what I trimmed to make the larger tires fit on my 2023 Pro-4x. #nissan #frontier #nissanfrontier

I have a 2022 pro 4x with 2.5' lift, 0 offset rims, 285 70 17 tires. I understand you 100%. Cutting is little annoying but totally worth it. My frontier look x 1000 better.
I hate trimming, Is there any way I can fit 33s without trimming? Maybe different tires will clear it?
what is the minimum offset to have to be able to fit the next size tires?
I have NISMO's 1.5 inch lift and didnt need to trim/melt anything. Running 285 70/17 Falken Wildpeaks, used stock wheels though.
Yeah its the offset that screws it up more so than the lift
Glad to hear this- I want to add this lift to my 24’ Pro 4X. Did you recalibrate your speedometer after adding the 285’s?
@UKnowBo I didn't recalibrate anything for the speedo. I don't think the small increase throws it off to badly.
@@CanadianCruisinThanks
Really? Good to know. Everyone says it needs to be trimmed when running 285. I hate trimming. You do not have any rubbing at all?
NIce video as always CC, thanks for all the work on these. Waiting to do my Fox 2.5" lift after the holidays and see how my 275/70R17's fit.
Thank you. Let me know how it goes
You didn’t have to cut in you fender like that. Pinch weld mod provides a much nicer finish and as much clearance. I guess it’s too late now lol. Good job anyway. Love you truck and I have the same Dobinsons under my 23 Pro4X
When we had it flexed it was still rubbing pretty good in one spot so decided just to chop it off lol
@@CanadianCruisin Mine was pretty bad as well but I refused to cut it open. Now, if you off-road for real, you will rub a tiny bit in the front at full compression with the wheels turn a certain angle. We just can’t win lol
@@IronJoe 😂 I need to get some days off work so I can test it out
You're going to cause rust. The small wheel wells is the worst feature of the frontier
I'm not worried about rust. It happens regardless so might as well have some fun
I'd say the cruise control is the worst thing
Would the 285/70/17 Mickey's / +0 offset wheels fit without a lift (but trimmed? This is the setup I want but haven't decided on the lift yet so was going to just do wheels/tires for now.
I am about to slap on some 0 offset 8.5 wheels on 285/70/17 maxxis at tires. I only have a 1.5 in level in front. I basically did what he did in the video, but instead of cutting metal, I pushed it up and back with a hammer. I’ll know in 2 days how it fits, but I know someone that did it, it will work, but even with trimming and heating, there will be minimal rubbing
@@abnerlopez1what’s the update now that you have the tires?
Do you think your 0 offset wheels would still have caused rubbing if you ran 265/70/17's on it?
I think it would still be pretty close. Not 100% though
What kind of cutting wheel did you use?
Nice, did you re align the headlamps after the lift. And how about the speedometer, did you re calibrated ?
I havent celebrated or adjusted anything. So far no one has flashed me lol
No trimming allowed.
What offset doesn't rub?
I havent looked into it enough to know for sure. The closer to stock you get the better off you will be.
Stock offset and rim with this size tire did not rub for me when I put on k02's in this size
It only started rubbing when I added 1.5 inch spacers
@@prodogey69 so if i get 285/70/17 ko2s on my stock beadlock 17s, i wont rub?
@@tshatara22 yes, they shouldn't. I have stock 17's that came on my midnight edition. But the stock wheels you're talking about are just bead locks that look like real ones. Not true beadlocks
@@tshatara22 I would think you'll still get rub. I have 275/70/R17 Toyo AT3 on the Nismo Axis rims, so same +30 offset and get just the slightest rub on the mud flaps right near lock. Usually when going over something at the same time as turning. If you have a 285/70R17 I would bet you'll still get a bit of rub. Thinking it might go away mostly with removing the mudflaps. in front. I am doing the ADO Fox extended 2.5" lift in a couple weeks and will see if I get rub still. I think if so removing the mudflats would be enough, but we'll see.
Does Nissan have a 4" lift?
Not that I know about.
They have a 6”
this video did not need to be this long...
