Astounding how you make lessons interesting, inspirational and eye-opening always with a touch of humor. Thanks Albert. Your channel is amongst the top that I impatiently check for.
I think this is my favorite so far. I see a lot of possibilities for still lifes in this method and the analogous color scheme is so pleasant. This style will make even the most uninteresting objects more interesting because I can focus more on the interaction of the shapes rather than the objects themselves. Thanks so much for this!
Hi Bridget, thanks. Wonderful to hear. Ones you get a technique it often opens doors or solves other problems. I like these colors very much. Happy painting, Albert
Bedankt Albert! Dit is een van m'n fav. video's! Wat heb je dat mooi gedaan met die verschillende kleuren rood etc! Ik ga het zeker proberen.....eerst nog een keer kijken......Groeten!
Hallo Ellen, bedankt. Ja Dit is heerlijk werken. Zo'n kleurenschema en begrijpen hoe dat werkt helpt mij maakt get voor mij veel makkelijker om kleuren te kiezen. Veel schilderplezier, Albert
Just discovered your channel (and subbed) 😊 I'm only recently starting to get back into art after a long hiatus and I've been looking for inspiration and ideas. Your videos are clear, and it's really fun to watch your process. Thank you so much for sharing 👋😊
Welcome back to art making, Wiglet. In case you like abstract, weird looking portraits or experiments in messing around, you're at the right spot. Enjoy, Albert
I love this one, even before the roses it was a beautiful composition. This and your Durain paintings are my favorites. Thank you so much for sharing your gift.
Hi Kerransky, thanks. You can use acrylics or oils or whatever material (pencils, oil pastels or ???). You can work on paper or canvas. But also on cardboard, wood panel or whatever material you have at hand. When you work op paper you can glue it to any surface and hang it on your wall. Be creative. Stay safe, Albert
Hi Franca, thanks. I hope this works: ruclips.net/video/kLbPTI6bfC4/видео.html You can always find all the links in the description below the video. Bye, Albert
Hi Albert..love your videos but am I missing how you got from your vertical and horizontal lines to all of the interesting shapes you ended up with? Did you use perspective at all? Thx.
Hi Mary, interesting question. I checked the video and I forgot to show that piece of the process, my apologies... interesting is that 6.000 people watched and no one asked. I have the idea I first created horizontal and vertical lines and after that changed the regular boxes to irregular ones, using a slightly darker pencil, where the thin first lines were a sort of a 'guideline' to deviate from. You won the price this time for close-observer of the week, LOL. I really appreciate your question, it was fun to discover. Happy painting, it really is a delightful painting exercise, Albert
Paul Klee, one of my favorite artists. His 'Red House' is my inspiration. Same with Burri, I reference them both in my work, you do the same. Music 3:27 please. Beautiful!
@@ImperfectPaintings Hi again Albert, I read briefly that you do classes.... not sure your format? Recorded, live? You showed examples on your Cy Twombly video of your students and I would love to be involved...
Hi Julie, thanks for asking. But my lessons are local, in-real-life lessons. What I teach is what I show in the video but of course there is more interaction in the classroom 😁 I show their paintings to give you more ideas. It is their interpretation of the exercise, and as you can see, everyone is allowed to take their personal route. I encourage this, otherwise you would get 15x the same flower at the end of the lesson. Boring I guess. But if you happen to be in the Netherlands in fall you are welcome to join. Bye, Albert
Hello I really love this painting and have watched it several times ~ I think I will give it a go ~ Thank you.
Thanks, Louise. Step by step makes it easy to do. Just give it a go. Albert
