Hallo Marie, bedankt.
Hi Edmar, thanks. It is an interesting way of making portraits. As you could see in the video, he made lots of it. Maybe interesting for you to explore your colorful portrait you showed me on Instagram. Have a nice day, Albert
Hi Franca, thanks. Yes they are interesting, some say the eyes are closed so they look inward. It changes the perspective, so inner landscapes are a nice thought too. It's all a bit mysterious what makes them interesting. Albert
Love discovering awesome artists on your channel! So fascinating hearing your detailed breakdown of Jawlensky’s style during your recreation. Also love your work Albert.
Hi Edie, thanks. Nice to hear you like it. There are so many incredible artists, I can go on first years. I discover new ones alle the time. I liked this one also. Albert
Love your tutorials Your completed examples are interesting next to the originals. Here I see an abstract head, rather than portrait. Liked your final colors, too.
Hi Daphne, thanks, compliments are always nice. For me it was fascinating to see so many variations at an exhibition. It's definitely fun to make one yourself. Bye, Albert
I think a portrait must reflect or capture the psychology of the sitter. However while Jawlensky didn't paint the psychology of his subject but rather a spirit or emotion, he captures human elements of the soul which is just as important.
Hi Lui, thanks. Haha, Nice creative choice, not abstract or portrait but an abstract portrait. I agree with you. Did you already paint it? It's nice to do. Have a nice day, Albert
Hi Sandi, thanks for commenting. It is always interesting to hear and for me nice know where people draw a line between abstract and portrait in this case. Have a nice day, Albert
Yet another perfect example of mastery of simplifying, deconstructing and explaining works of art. Thank you Albert.
Hi Salim, thanks. It is also an interesting painting exercise. It looks so easy but you have to make a lot of decision on the way. Bye, Albert
Abstract portrait and I will be trying it out with a 14 year old next week . Thank you for your videos .
Hi T J, thanks good choice. Nice to hear you the two of you will be making one yourself. I would love to know how you did. Albert
Beautiful work!! The challenge would be to make a portrait of someone with this style. Keep painting!
Hi Con Civ, thanks. Would indeed be an interesting challenge! Give it a try and tell me later. Have a nice day, Albert
Ik vind jouw lessen leerrijk en plezierig, ik zit ook vast en ga het wel eens oefenen ! Dank je !

Haha! Yes I am!
It's recognizable as a face, but it's quite abstracted. I didn't that icons were the inspiration for these faces. THX

Thanks Sree La, I found some of his later artwork and it looks great. I will put him on my list for (near) future projects. Have a great day, Albert
Abstract. Portrait means something more representational to me.
Thanks Lezlee, noted. It's interesting to see the different opinions. Albert

Hi ihopetowin, I agree with you. That's what makes these abstract heads so interesting. Albert
