In the show supernatural those were actually always the scariest episodes. Ghosts or demons would be more predictable. It’s crazy how much perspective that show put onto the unpredictable nature of humans.

The scary and sad thing about Frauke is that during that last conversation, after the Yes/No she also said "I'm still alive " and it really sounds like she was scared/expected it might changed. And when she spoke with Chris(her roommate) after being asked where she is she said "Mama" several times. It's just so heartbreaking to think that she was scared and wanted her mom...but like her mom couldn't get to her bc nobody knew where she was.

Made me think of those men who have disappeared after getting out pubs/bars, intoxicated and later found on bodies of water with no signs of being there for long despite being missing for months. Meaning, they were probably kept somewhere. Also, they appear with sedatives/alcohol/depression medication in their system. This is so odd and makes me wonder of it's the act of a serial killer or several who do this for "fun". IDK this whole mystery is intriguing.

I remember hearing about Brian Schafer’s case many times, on unsolved mysteries podcast and other crime shows. Very interesting and head scratching case..but honestly the only explanation is he had a beef with the bar owner or bar workers or the band at the end of the night and maybe the bouncers took him upstairs and something happened..why doesn’t that bar have cameras inside? Idk the guy couldn’t just vanish into thin air..someone in that bar did something to him. And they took him out later and disposed of the body. Edit: also I forgot to mention there was a freight elevator in the bar at the time that wasn’t covered by CCTV..and if Brian went back to help the band pack up or talk to them, then he would have went down the elevator with them out to their truck or van to load their equipment..and he would have disappeared with them! I have never heard the bands name released or if they were even ever interviewed by police?! Which I find very sketchy...that is also a very likely scenario

edit: I just realized they could have disposed of the body when the bar closed. Then they could claim that the bar was closed at that time and the cctv's were off.

I remember the Brian Schaefer case. I lived in Columbus then. It never made sense. How could he have never been seen leaving the bar? He had to have left in a trash bin or something, which definitely means foul play. All of these cases are so tragic.
I can't help but think the older man was disoriented, possibly from the cold and being robbed. No one really helped. They all just assumed he was drunk. So sad.
A woman should never walk out at night alone. It's not even always safe in the daylight. I hope they get answers to these cases, and so many more Unsolved crimes.

Years ago I worked at a car dealership as a lot attendant for Land Rover and I gassed up sold vehicles. If you’ve ever been in a car accident you feel it no matter how small the hit is. I walked out of the gas station after paying and someone had hit the sold car, back left. It was a 10 min drive the car was spotless before I took it to gas up. I looked at the camera footage of the gas station and nothing. I felt as if the footage was deleted that was the only explanation. Relating to the guy never leaving the bar. Maybe there’s a hidden door in plain site leading to a dungin or tunnel like under the bars kitchen. Super weird tho

I will say that MrBallen is also an outstanding story teller, but I totally agree with you. Mr Nightmare has such natural tonality and inflections. No forced 'spooky voice' or modulation.

My thoughts exactly. This might 100% be a stretch BUT I believe he faked his death, why? No idea but given that the safe's password was changed, I believe he took the belongings, changed the password, then faked his death. I mean, he could have been living a double life and decided the other family was the "chosen one". They shouldn't exhume the body and do DNA.

I pretty sure he said that card was old and written a few years before his death so i'm not sure if he faked his death. Maybe he knew he was going to die so he set up this elaborate mailing thing but even then I don't know what the motive would be. Also weird how it centered around the daughter and not the whole family. Weird all around

Whenever I hear/see missing person cases, am always reminded of my sisters friend from their teens who went missing, sadly never found him, again a complete mystery as to what happened to him, no one knows. His name was Damien Nettles and he's still missing to this day. He was only 16 when he disapeared, this was 25 years ago. It's scary how easily things like this can happen.

He seemed to have fallen off a building and through the ceiling of another to his death but literally everything is weird about that. Like how the building he had to fall off of was too far away from the ceiling where he fell through and also how his glasses and phone had no scratches or damages after he "fell" from that height

Man, that FBI Agent is living proof when you're in that line of work you're never off duty even when you're trying to enjoy a leisurely event like a sports game. I couldn't imagine having that many missing persons cases going unresolved in my head. Constantly trying to figure out all of the pieces of the puzzle.
This is also spooky cause one case happened in my state, and our state is small you rarely hear of weird cases like the Wilmington one.

Having been to Ugly Tuna in grad school and knowing how busy it can get, I definitely think Brian Schaeffer left the building and just wasn't identifiable on camera. We used to get relatively regular notices about bank robberies and other crimes in the area, so it wasn't exactly the safest place to be.
he totally couldve switched his outfit too, examples being a hoodie with the hood up, hard to identify his face. Either way, its a scary thought that you can go missing anywhere on the planet and never be found… :(((

I live in Columbus. The Brian Schaffer story was everywhere in my city and if he never left that means he most likely died inside the saloon. Also, his father got hit by a fallen tree branch during a storm and was killed a few years ago.
For the 4th one .I might be totally wrong but what if : The father staged his death to get away from whatever he got himself involved with and to protect his family he had to vanish. sends gifts anonymously to his daughter as a sign that he misses her and still cares about them.
I seriously doubt that’s the case.

I can’t get over how amazing the last story is.. The FBI’s facial recognition expert spotted someone who closely resembled the missing man while he was at an Ohio state football game with 100,000+ people in the stadium. This person he spotted happened to be the brother of the missing man! Imagine how amazing that agents recognition skills are!
I have a weird theory on the last one. What if he went to talk to the band, maybe he offended them, they accidentally killed him, put him in their equipment and went away with him? I dunno ... Just an out-there theory, but not many others for his case.

I am from Ohio actually that's been speculated about the band members but no one bothers to question them. It's sad if you hear his backstory too it doesn't make sense he was doing well in med school and showed no signs of suicidal thoughts etc.

It's been awhile since I've seen Brian's case (#5) on RUclips. I wonder if the agent did counts to see if everyone except Brian was accounted for. There are stories online of missing people found behind soda coolers 10 years later cause they got stuck somewhere nobody thought to look. If everyone is accounted for then the only possible explanation is he is there still somewhere. Maybe in a wall or who knows. I wise man once said, 'When you eliminated all which is possible, then whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.'

I don't think so because that bar switched locations and the current site is now a movie theater called Gateway. They did a bunch of construction there and I'm assuming would have found a body if that were the case.
I feel like there would've been a very noticeable smell if he'd died somewhere inside the building.

So wierd #4 reminds me of a incident I experienced. I was dating a ex boyfriend and his house was haunted occupied by someone else other than just him and his dad. I felt the energy of the deceased person, I’ve heard things. I’ve seen things. Then one night I did some research and found out that it was a male presence I was feeling and this person died of a massive heart attack in 1993. A few days later and for several weeks my ex was receiving letters that were addressed to the dead man. For years nothing like that ever was sent to them until I came into that home. I can’t explain anything to this day but I know what I saw and heard. The afterlife does exist.
Was having a bad if not the worst day of my life and to be honest this just made it 100% better thanks mr nightmare for giving me a smile I thought I was never gonna get

Brian Schaffer went missing shortly after his mother passed. Shortly after Brian went missing Brians father died in a tragic accident. Prayers up I cannot imagine losing a sibling and parents in such a short time span.

It's actually not uncommon for people to set up things to be given to their loved ones on certain occasions and dates in the event they die suddenly or unexpectedly

6 years and i still get so excited when i see Mr. nightmare posted - your videos have always been my favorite
My cousin went missing in 1991 and no one has seen her or heard from her since. Her daughter went out to go to a movie with some friends and when she came back later that night her mom was gone and no word of her has been heard since. Her car was found 3 days later parked in a rough part of town and it was determined that the guy who had been driving it knew nothing of her whereabouts or they couldn’t link him to any crime.
Only channel I’ve consistently watched for 4 years…

It’s frustrating when these people disappear without a trace. Bodies have been found in some pretty unexpected places. Eg. Chimneys, ventilation shafts etc.

I really love your content Mr Nightmare , you would honestly be on my top 3 list of favourite content creators if you just make your releases a little bit longer. Its almost like being teased to only get 5-15 min of listening time >_> especially with yours as you really are a very skilled at narrating and audio engineering. Id definitely be willing to be a paying sponsor if the releases were as long as the majority of other great creators. 45-90 min would suffice or even compilations of several hours. It just takes so much time to click open set up a download and title it when they are so short as there is 10x more videos to achieve the same amount of listening time.
Anyway just a suggestion ill always appreciate anything you put out there but I know of at least 20 other people off hand that would pay to sponsor your content if you made it a little more substantial.
Regardless of what you end up doing I thank you for a other great job done. You have a rare gift indeed.

Mr.Nightmare was the first horror RUclipsr I started to listen to(back in 2015). I believe he was the one who really inspired others to create horror conent. It's insane and awesome to see this explosion of horror content over the last five years.
