Years ago kids as young as 1st grade would run the streets, miles from home. Was no big deal . I remember, cause I used too.

@@erikcaldwell2913 Same here but in my neighborhood this happens non stop. Young kids running around and playing without parents nearby but mostly during summer. I live in a very safe neighborhood where everyone knows everyone and their kids. I can sleep with my windows and doors open during the night and no one would come to rob me or anything.
The worst thing about these stories is that these things happen everyday to random unsuspecting people.

They mostly happen to party animals, slutty women and generally people whose life choices led them to such a fate. Darwinism if you ask me. But when shit happens to kids it's really unfair.
Everyone thinks: "That could never happen to me." Yes, it could.
This is why when me or my friends host Halloween parties we always ask the guests to take off their masks to show who they are before entering the house.
that should be an obvious thing to do or else you will feature on this video next year
Simply put: make a guest list of who is coming and/or invited, put a face to the costume and check ✔️✅ off as they arrive and the same as the party 🎉 winds down 👇👎.

„Story 2: This was in October. I watched a Mr. Nightmare video so me and my friends decided to do a little private party together instead of making it public like we did last year.
Sometime during the party, the power went out. One of my friends, we‘ll call him Steve, went down to check on the fuse box.
He never came back.
Suddenly, we heard a knocking on the window and saw a man outside with a disturbing looking mask. We hid in the closet and called the police. To this day, Steve‘s remains were never found“.

I lived in the same dorm with Chris Jenkins back in 2002, and was interviewed by police regarding where he could have possibly gone. I remember Chris being a very rowdy and obnoxious person when he was with his group of friends, but on his own, Chris seemed like a nice guy. I haven't been to the Lone Tree Bar since Chris's death, and don't intend to ever return.

It's easy to blame Marion for what happened to Steven but that was back in the 50's and back then it was normal to leave your kids unattended while you went to do your shopping. This was also back in a time when mothers would often leave their babies outside in their front doors in prams. The idea of kids being abducted wasn't something most parents even thought was a possibility back then. Nowadays parents are much more cautious and rightfully so but what Marion did is probably what most mothers would've done at the time.
I totally agree! As a history major, one thing I’ve learned is never to look at history from a modern perspective.
Leaving your children outside of stores is also really common still in some European countries. It's important to remember that it is NEVER the fault of the victim. The person responsible is the one who took the children.

@@Roma_eterna I live in Europe (Austria at the moment, but I also lived in Germany und Denmark). We don't leave our kids outside of shops ... but yes, there are a lot of babys sleeping in carriages on the front porch or in front of the main entrance. That's pretty common.

The Chris Jenkins story really messed me up being alone at night isolated with no phone or wallet. at a place with a high crime rate while intoxicated. Then your family hears that you go missing to then find out that your body is floating in a body of water due to homicide.
in 2002 the area that happened didn't really have a high crime rate any more than any major downtown city. I was in college at that time and we would regularly walk to and from bars and clubs in that area. I actually currently work two blocks from where the bar he was at was located and never feel unsafe walking home alone at 11 at night. Yes the riots happened but they're long since over it's a well lit area with steady traffic and regular buses. Dude was drunk and fell in the river that's on him.

There’s a high level of college men going missing in the US and they nearly always go missing after a night out and they’re almost always found in a river. Some investigators believe it’s the work of a serial killer or killers preying on young men that have been named the smiley face killer

As a mother I can't even imagine leaving my child unattended, as soon as you said she left her children outside I felt a bit of panic rise up! Just no.
I know it was the 50's and people felt more innocent back then, but I don't understand why she even felt the need to do that.

As an older brother, this story sent an endless amount of chills up my spine. I never went trick-or-treating as a kid because my mom was always worried about something like that happening to me and we didn’t leave in the best neighborhood at the time. Now that we live somewhere better I don’t want my sister to miss out on something I did, but the thought of that story well haunt me for a long time.
I’m a student at the University of Minnesota and Minneapolis is definitely one of those places you do not want to be out on the streets during the night alone, especially when intoxicated.
The bar is permanently closed now, I’ve driven by the location some times and it has no access. Although this is the first time I’ve heard his story, very shocked this was the reason, rest easy Chris.

Don’t know what all these downer comments are about. Halloween has always been a FUN HOLIDAY for me. I still love dressing up, even if I don’t go trick or treating anymore. And trick or treating in the neighborhood was a feeling unlike anything else. We just didn’t do anything stupid that would cause us harm
“The Boy In The Box” was identified as Joseph Augustus Zarelli. If DNA testing had advanced this much to identify the boy in the box, I hope that one day we’ll get more information into the mysteries of unknown deceased victims, and I hope one day, the other cases on this list will be solved.
I was and still am OBSESSED with this case, my mom and i being from Philadelphia a just a few mins from where his body was found on Susquehanna road in fox chase neighborhood, we would spend weekends, sometimes nights, or Sundays driving around with all the information we could coming up with different scenarios and possible outcomes. Even now today after he was finally identified and my mom has since moved to Florida I still find myself completely engrossed in this case, I was and always will be fascinated by it.
Guy in 2015: “ he looks suspicious. He’s wearing a mask!”

Whoever kicked that dude out of the bar without his cellphone or wallet should be held partially accountable for what happened to him. It was irresponsible of them to just toss him out in the cold with him having no way of getting a cab or uber or ride or whatever. They helped through their complacency to put forth into motion the events that eventually led to his death.
Oh I heard of Number 6! Some independent investigstors believed Chris's death was supposedly part of something called the Smily Face Killings where young athletic men were killed by drowning to frame it as suicide or accidental death

Growing up in Minneapolis Minnesota I can attest to the weird stuff that happens in Halloween. We always had to keep our dogs inside because dogs would go missing every Halloween. Many were found sacrificed. There was also a lady who butchered a chicken as a sacrifice in the middle of the day at a park me and my brothers played at almost daily. There’s definitely a strong witchcraft community in the St. Paul/Minneapolis area.

I kinda appreciate that most of these have a logical explanation for what happened, but are still technically unsolved, makes it easier to enjoy this with anxiety problems
David’s disappearance dosen’t really have a logical explanation and the case of Cindy Song is also incredibly hard to decipher so I don’t really understand what you mean. No definitive answer has appeared for any case he discussed in this video which makes these cases ring more eerily

If Stephen was two years old when he went missing in 1955, he would have been born about 1953. If the boy in the box was found in 1957, Stephen would have only been four years old at the time. The boy in the box was definitely older than that so it couldn't have been Stephen, even if there is a resemblance.
